Zhang returned to her room and sat quietly. Many times, once she understood things, everything would be alright.
She took out her pen, laid out the paper, and began to write.
Wenrou leaned closer to look: "A divorce agreement? Mother! You want to separate from Father?"
Zhang nodded: "Yes! Would you like to come with me?"
Wenrou's previously flustered heart suddenly calmed down. She stepped forward and gently hugged her mother, happily saying, "I'm willing, wherever you are, Mother, I'll be there!"
When Imperial Physician Wen opened the door, he saw Wenrou embracing her mother.
He stood at the door for a while and found that the room was very quiet, without any noise or disturbance!
Zhang seems to be writing something.
His anxiety subsided slightly. He sat quietly at the table, considered his words for a moment, and then spoke.
"Zhang, you know we don't have anything worthwhile to offer. I've decided that all the betrothal gifts sent by Prince An will be given to Nuan'er. You don't have any objections, do you?"
He was still a little guilty. These past few years had indeed been tough, but hadn't he come through it all with her?
I don't know what she has to be so upset about.
“Sure, no objection!” Zhang said calmly.
Hearing this, Physician Wen was somewhat pleased. Although his wife had many shortcomings, she was reasonable in important matters!
He continued, "You know that Aunt Zhao is just an ordinary peasant girl. She doesn't know much about things, so you'll have to take care of things."
"Then you can embroider the wedding dress for Nuan'er! You know she's not good at embroidery."
"Oh, right, and..."
With a snap, Zhang threw a piece of paper in front of him.
Doctor Wen picked up the paper curiously and examined it closely!
What?
"What do you mean?" Imperial Physician Wen glared angrily at the person in front of him.
The person in front of me is no longer young; in fact, she looks older than most people. She's in her thirties but looks like a woman in her forties or fifties.
But this is the kind of person who dares to mention divorce!
"Are you blind? It's written clearly in black and white! What's there to not understand?"
"Oh! By the way, my daughter Wenrou will be coming with me from now on!"
Zhang looked calm, and the anger that had been on her face earlier seemed to have dissipated somewhat.
Doctor Wen pushed the paper away, extremely angry: "Impossible! I don't agree. We've been doing well all these years, I won't get a divorce."
"Wenrou is my own daughter, I can't give her to you!"
Madam Zhang sat down, poured herself a glass of water, and looked at Physician Wen with the same nonchalance as if she were looking at a dog on the street.
"I'm telling you now, speak to me like a human being! If you don't understand human language, I can switch to dog language!"
"You! You're old and faded, where can you go after a divorce? Are you going to beg for food?" Doctor Wen was furious. How could he speak so rudely? Did he think he was a dog?
He turned to look at Wenrou and said angrily, "Look at your mother! Is this how a mother should act? She's so old, isn't she ashamed? And you, you should be advising your mother when she's wrong, instead of listening to her!"
Zhang, who had been trying to reason with him, suddenly flew into a rage: "You can say whatever you want, but you can't talk about my daughter!"
"Sign or not?" she asked in a low voice.
"I won't sign!"
Zhang kicked over the stool that Physician Wen was sitting on, and he fell heavily to the ground, feeling as if his buttocks had been split in two.
It hurts so much!
Before he could speak, Zhang took off her shoes and held them in her hand.
Under the horrified gaze of Imperial Physician Wen, he stepped forward, pushed the man to the ground, sat down on his stomach, and raised the shoe high in his hand.
"To sign or not to sign?"
Doctor Wen's eyes widened. He had been a respected doctor for most of his life, but he had never been so humiliated!
He covered his face with both hands and answered firmly, "No!"
The shoes mercilessly lashed at his hands, once on the left and once on the right.
The imperial physician was in excruciating pain, but he endured it with great effort.
Seeing that both of his hands were red, Zhang reached out and pulled Wen Taiyi's hands down, pushing them up and pressing them down.
She was worried that if she injured her hand, it would affect her writing later.
"Sign or not? Think it over before you answer. I won't feel sorry for you. If you honestly agree, you'll get a beating."
"Furthermore, after I leave, you can promote Aunt Zhao to the rank of Madam. That way, Wen Nuan will no longer be a concubine's daughter, but a legitimate daughter, which sounds better!"
Doctor Wen was just betting that she wouldn't dare to hit him, but the facts told him that she was hitting him quite happily!
Now that I've heard her say that, I'm somewhat tempted, but I can't bring myself to say it.
He snorted and stared intently at Zhang, seemingly trying to scare her away with his eyes.
However, the reality was that the merciless soles of his shoes were relentlessly slapping his cheeks.
"Stop hitting me! Stop hitting me, I'll sign! I'll sign!"
Damn, my face hurts!
This person has no heart; he really goes all out when it comes to hitting people!
I'm so angry!
Zhang got up briskly, put on her shoes, and shook her hands.
Calmly, he picked up the paper from the floor and placed it back on the table.
Doctor Wen's face was red from the beating, and it hurt to even move his mouth. He sat on the stool with trembling hands.
Looking up at Zhang, Zhang's eyes were different now than before.
If she looked at him like he was a dog just now, now Zhang looks at him like he's looking at dog poop!
He guessed correctly.
In Zhang's mind at that moment, he was nothing but a pile of dog shit! She just wanted to get away from him as quickly as possible.
Doctor Wen pitifully put his hand to his mouth and breathed out a few times.
His mother used to blow air into him, and later Zhang also blew air into him, but now he's all alone!
Women are indeed terrifying creatures.
Physician Wen picked up his pen, held it in mid-air, and hesitated to put it down.
