The two of them ate a very late dinner last night and then went to bed.
Shen Jiaojiao also told Chunhua and Chuncao to go down and rest. They had been running around with her all day, and now they were staying up so late to watch over her. It must be tiring for them.
The night passed quickly.
Today, Chu Tianling was preparing to depart for Jiangnan, and early in the morning, the Crown Prince's residence came alive again.
"Jiaojiao, would you like to come with me to Jiangnan this time?" He stirred the soup in his bowl.
He wanted to take Jiaojiao with him so they wouldn't be apart for a moment, but just to be on the safe side, he still wanted to ask first.
"Oh! I won't go!" Shen Jiaojiao understood what he meant and deliberately teased him.
"Ah! Where are you going?" She looked visibly aggrieved.
She wouldn't even drink the soup.
He stared at her intently, trying to accuse her with his eyes: Have you forgotten your promise last night that we wouldn't break up?
He was extremely worried!
"Hahaha!"
Shen Jiaojiao's clear laughter echoed in the room.
This time, Chu Tianling realized that she had done it on purpose.
He grabbed the little rascal with her rosy cheeks and scooped her up on his lap, kissing her pink face several times.
"You naughty girl! How dare you scare me! My heart ached just now."
"Haha, alright! Who told you to deliberately test me?"
"I was wrong. From now on, just take them away directly and don't ask any more questions."
The two lingered for a while before finally finishing breakfast.
Chunhua led the people in and quickly cleaned the table.
"When are we leaving?" Shen Jiaojiao asked with a hint of anticipation.
"The sooner the better, and it's best to keep a low profile. This morning I sent someone to inform Zhang Jie to take the warrant and, once he arrives in Jiangnan, to privately contact the local garrison commander and test whether he is still a reliable ally."
"I'm worried that officials over there are colluding with each other, and maybe they've already been won over."
Upon hearing this, Shen Jiaojiao felt that things had become urgent and immediately got up.
"In that case, let's get dressed up and go!"
Shen Jiaojiao pulled the person back to the room.
Soon, Shen Jiaojiao changed into men's clothing, wearing a dark blue brocade robe, her hair was tied up in a high bun with a black ribbon.
She was petite with fair skin, and this outfit really gave her the air of an innocent and wealthy young master.
"How was it?" Shen Jiaojiao picked up a fan and pretended to wave it a few times.
In Chu Tianling's eyes, she was incredibly cute. He gazed at her adoringly and exclaimed, "So cute!"
Shen Jiaojiao pouted: "Brother, I'm a boy now, how can you describe me as cute? You have to say I'm incredibly handsome! Also, I'm your younger brother now, so you have to watch your eyes. You can't look at me like that, or people will think you have a short-sleeved fetish!"
Chu Tianling couldn't help but laugh heartily.
"Okay, okay, whatever makes you happy, I'll do whatever you say."
Shen Jiaojiao stared at him for a while, then pressed him down in front of the dressing table: "Sit down, I'll give you some more makeover."
Chu Tianling obediently sat down, letting her do as she pleased.
Soon after, Shen Jiaojiao finally stopped. Her once handsome face was now a shade darker, and she had a fake mustache around her lips.
Chu Tianling was looking at himself in the mirror, scrutinizing himself carefully, when Shen Jiaojiao became dissatisfied again.
I still feel it's too alluring. What if I encounter some bad romantic prospects on the way? Wouldn't that drive me crazy?
Shen Jiaojiao turned his face around, studied it for a long time, and then put a big mole on the corner of his mouth, instantly ruining his aura.
"Hahaha! That's hilarious, you're like a matchmaker now." Shen Jiaojiao laughed until her stomach hurt.
Chu Tianling didn't care much about his appearance; as long as he looked like this, it was worth it to win her favor.
He took off his fancy clothes and put on a low-key dark cotton coat.
After changing her clothes, Shen Jiaojiao laughed even louder.
"Hahaha, that's hilarious! You don't look like my brother at all, you look more like my dad! Maybe we should just call you Dad when we're out, hahaha."
Shen Jiaojiao laughed so hard she fell onto the table, slapping it with her hands. She couldn't stop laughing.
When she calmed down and looked up again, her face was flushed and her eyes were glistening with tears; she looked absolutely captivating.
Chu Tianling was sitting next to her. When he saw her alluring appearance, he went up to her, cupped her face, and punished her severely.
You were laughing so happily just now, so it's only right that you collect some interest now, isn't it?
Another hour passed after the two calmed down.
Since we couldn't alert them this time, everyone dressed up.
Spring flowers and grasses remain at home to guard the house.
Zhou Tianqi disguised himself as a coachman, and driving the carriage has now become his second best skill.
Fu Hang and Wang Dazhuang also went along this time. This time, they disguised themselves as a group of wealthy merchants who were going to Jiangnan to do business.
They quickly packed their luggage and left discreetly through the back door.
It was around four o'clock in the afternoon when the group left, and the convoy left the imperial city just before the city gates closed.
The closest town to us is Peach Blossom Town. They plan to rest there for the night and buy some local specialties to sell along the way to Jiangnan. That would make it seem more authentic.
Upon arriving in town, instead of going to the villa, they went to the inn in a high-profile manner and generously booked a room.
"Dazhuang, you and Fuhang take a horse-drawn cart to town later and see what good goods are available. Buy some to take on the road so you can do business with them."
Ever since Shen Jiaojiao discovered this treasure of a person, she immediately assigned him tasks. Someone who is so good at handling things should be good at doing business too.
