Chapter 21 Ginseng Chicken Soup

Everything was ready, and Ye Wangshu directly bought a batch of leeches in the supermarket and threw them into the paddy field.

The explanation given to the outside world was that these leeches were specifically designed to catch people.

Ye Wangshu had been busy these days. The anonymous letter was like a knot in Zhou Jincong's heart, and he had never asked about it.

The leeches had already fallen into the pit. At night, whenever Zhou Jincong closed his eyes, the contents of the letter came to his mind.

Zhou Jincong tossed and turned for a long time, feeling very anxious and unable to fall asleep.

"What's wrong?" Ye Wangshu rubbed his eyes in a daze, his eyes full of haziness.

"It's okay, go to sleep." Looking at Ye Wangshu's appearance, Zhou Jincong raised his hand and patted him through the quilt, "If you are sleepy, go to sleep."

"Yeah." Ye Wangshu was busy placing leeches today and was already very tired. When she heard Zhou Jincong say that everything was fine, she closed her eyes again.

After lying in bed for a long time, Ye Wangshu couldn't fall asleep even though he was clearly feeling sleepy and lingering on his brain.

She opened her eyes again and looked into Zhou Jincong's persistent eyes.

"What's wrong with you?" Full of doubts, Ye Wangshu stood up and turned on the bedside lamp, looking at him with a puzzled look, "Why are you staring at me?"

"I'm fine..." Zhou Jincong was stubborn and looked at Ye Wangshu's puffy cheeks and pinched them.

Ye Wangshu dodged Zhou Jincong's hand with an angry look on his face.

"Do you think, like my younger sister, that I haven't taken care of my mother?"

Ye Wangshu frowned slightly, the more he thought about it, the more he felt it was true.

"Mom is too weak. If she just takes medicine to replenish her, it will be easy to overdo it. You also saw that I bought a lot of things. When I have free time, I go up the mountain to collect herbs. I cook according to your body condition. Those meals are just right for nourishing your body. It will also benefit others. I think you understand all this."

The more Ye Wangshu thought about it, the angrier he became. He rolled his eyes at Zhou Jincong, pulled the quilt over his head and went to sleep.

"I know, I..."

"What is it?"

Ye Wangshu looked up at Zhou Jincong's calm face, feeling a little helpless.

"It would be great if your eyes were as calm as your face." Ye Wangshu stood up again and turned Zhou Jincong's face to look at him. "Don't act like I'm sorry for you. You're not a worm in your stomach. I can't guess what you're thinking every time."

"It's nothing, actually."

After hearing this, Ye Wangshu sighed softly and looked straight into Zhou Jincong's eyes.

"Zhou Jincong, if you don't tell me, get off the bed!"

"I mean... when you were buying fish and shrimp the day before, someone saw you being stuffed with a gift by an old man."

Ye Wangshu nodded, with two big words clearly written on his face: "That's it?"

"You know that person, maybe even better than I do. Can you guess who it is?"

Zhou Jincong frowned slightly and thought for a long time but couldn't figure it out.

"Knock you stupid, it's your chief. The one who fainted in the cafeteria that day, he insisted on stuffing those things on me, and I couldn't push them away, so I took them."

"Is that so! Remember to tell me if you have anything to say next time, okay?"

After hearing this, Ye Wangshu smiled helplessly and nodded, "Okay, how about I tell you how many spoonfuls of salt to put in cooking next time?"

"Okay, if you encounter any problems, you must tell me."

Zhou Jincong emphasized it again, and only when he saw Ye Wangshu nod did he breathe a sigh of relief.

"I'm almost dying of sleep, honey, if you have something to say, just tell me, okay?"

Ye Wangshu lay in bed and couldn't help mumbling something, then fell asleep.

Zhou Jincong looked at Ye Wangshu who was sleeping soundly and nodded slightly.

"Zhou Jincong, don't think that just because you're injured, everyone should give in to you!"

The man in the army green shirt looked Zhou Jincong up and down, his eyes landing on his injured shoulder. "How about we fight and see how I can knock you down?"

As soon as the man finished speaking, he swung his fist straight at Zhou Jincong's injured shoulder.

Zhou Jincong raised his hand to block, his face expressionless. "Military regulations prohibit private fighting. If you want to write a self-criticism, you can do it now."

"Are you okay?" Ye Wangshu saw someone punching Zhou Jincong from a distance and hurried over.

"Why are you here?"

Seeing Ye Wangshu, Zhou Jincong's deep eyes lit up instantly, "Why did you suddenly bring me food? What is this? It smells so good, worthy of being my wife."

Ye Wangshu chuckled and said, "It seems that you are not injured. This ginseng chicken soup is not made by me. My mother made it and asked me to bring it to you."

"It smells so good because my wife delivered it."

Zhou Jincong climbed up the ladder, and his words were full of praise for Ye Wangshu.

"Okay, eat now!"

Zhou Jincong nodded, then looked up at Ye Wangshu and asked, "Did the gatekeeper let you in directly?"

"Well, I guess it's because you've seen me bringing you food more often."

"Zhou Jincong, is this the reason you made Ruan Ruan sad just for such a pretty girl?"

The person who had just been looking for trouble became even more furious when he saw that he was being ignored by Zhou Jincong, and he also started to dislike Ye Wangshu.

Zhou Jincong was about to speak when Ye Wangshu patted the back of his hand and told him to drink the chicken soup obediently.

"Big brother, do you have any awareness of being a soldier? Are you very proud of your evaluation of a military wife? And the Ruan Ruan you mentioned, is it Song Ruan Ruan?"

The man nodded and looked Ye Wangshu up and down. "If you're not a vase, what are you?"

"You like Song Ruanruan, right? It's a pity that Song Ruanruan doesn't like you. Just based on your casual comments about women, you don't deserve to be liked." Ye Wangshu looked at her with disdain in his eyes. "You don't know me, and you just label people based on appearance. It's really low."
