Chapter 19 Dream

At night, Gu Shi lay on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Unexpectedly, when he opened his eyes again, he was lying on a soft grass.

"What's going on? Wasn't I sleeping in my room?" Finding himself suddenly in an unfamiliar place, Gu Shi quickly got up from the grass.

He was still wearing his pajamas, and as he stepped barefoot on the grass, the touch from his feet was clear and real. Faced with this scene, he, who had experienced time travel before, couldn't help but speculate, "No way, could it be that I have traveled through time again?"

Gu Shi quickly observed the surrounding environment.

Looking around, he was surrounded by endless grassland, and not far ahead stood a huge tree that blocked out the sun.

Gu Shi stood there gazing at the big tree when he heard a familiar voice beside his ears, "Come here, come to me."

It was him, the voice that Gu Shi had heard during the talent test. Hearing this voice, he couldn't help but feel relieved.

Gu Shi thought about why he had inexplicably appeared in this place, and it was most likely related to this voice. Now, apart from obeying the command of this voice, there was no better way.

Moreover, the owner of this voice most likely had no ill intentions towards him, otherwise he would have been exposed long ago.

Following the guidance of the voice, Gu Shi came to the big tree. A figure covered in light was standing under the tree, looking at him quietly.

When he saw that figure, Gu Shi almost couldn't control his body. He wanted to rush forward and throw himself into the arms of that figure, just like a baby wanting to return to his mother's arms.

He tried hard to suppress his impulse, walked step by step to the side of the figure, and asked in a low voice: "Who are you? Where is this?"

Even when he stood next to the figure, Gu Shi still couldn't see his face clearly. Even his figure was shrouded in light, and he could only roughly see the outline.

The figure said, "You can call me Isidore. This is your dream."

Hearing Isidore's voice, Gu Shi clenched his fists. He was afraid that he would not be able to control himself and rush over, which would be too embarrassing.

As if seeing through Gu Shi's bravado, Isidore chuckled twice, "Don't worry, this is normal. You didn't absorb enough energy during your growth, which resulted in your development being forcibly stopped halfway. It's only natural that your body would crave power from the same source."

He was about to say something but was interrupted by Isidore's action.

Isidore stretched out his finger and gently touched his forehead. With his movement, a huge amount of energy surged into his body, and the next second, he fainted.

When Gu Shi woke up again, he found himself back in the room. Isidore had disappeared along with the dream, leaving only a message.

"The rules don't allow me to stay here for too long. Try to grow. Although I can protect you, becoming stronger yourself is a better choice. I will always keep an eye on you."

"Your staff is quite good, but it needs to absorb enough mana to restore to its original level. You can try feeding it some magic crystals."

"The power I impart to you may cause some changes in your body. If you find anything unusual about yourself, don't panic. It's only a temporary change and will gradually heal."

After reading this information, Gu Shi hurriedly checked his body. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found nothing abnormal. If he suddenly had some extra organs in his body, he wouldn't know what to do.

Although there was nothing unusual in appearance, Gu Shi discovered that his level had risen from the elementary level of the second level to the intermediate level of the third level, and he even had a vague feeling that he was about to break through to the advanced level.

Along with it comes the usual fourth-order life magic.

This whole level of improvement made him a little worried.

The improvement in strength is indeed a good thing, but how can he explain this sudden upgrade to others.

Epiphany? Is there such a term in Western fantasy worlds?

Gu Shi had a headache. After thinking for a long time, he couldn't come up with a good excuse. He simply decided to tell the academy that he had some adventures during the holiday, and explain to the base that he had gained something in the academy.

Anyway, the next time I go back will be a month later.

It just so happened that he wasn't very familiar with the other two mage students. Apart from meeting in general classes, they had no contact at other times. It was very easy to avoid them. As long as he was a little careful, he wouldn't be exposed.

The only person Gu Shi was close to in the academy was Wendel, and he probably wouldn't delve into what he said. After all, they weren't that close.

After thinking about how to explain it, he felt a little sad. This breakthrough was too sudden. He had not used up the quota for applying for spells when he was at the second level.

After tossing and turning for a while, Gu Shi glanced at the sky outside the window. The moon was hanging high in the sky. It should have been a short time. He was not fully awake and continued to sleep.

The next day, Gu Shi went to the meditation room as usual. His level increased too quickly, so he had to consolidate his basics in the next two days.

After making sure that he had adapted to the sudden surge in magic power, Gu Shi decided to change the staff in his hand first.

The staff he is using now was bought when school just started. The first-level staff can no longer keep up with his current progress, so he has to replace it with a more advanced one.

Gu Shi didn't expect that these two staffs would be obsolete in just a few months. He spent a lot of gold coins when he bought them.

Finding some free time, Gu Shi came to the wand shop. He looked at the various wands in the shop and was a little hesitant.

He is now at the intermediate level of the third level, so why not just buy a higher-level staff.
