Chapter 7 Departure

The next morning, looking at the three people still sleeping soundly in the dormitory, Gu Shi quietly left.

At eight o'clock, a group of more than twenty people gathered at the south gate of the school, ready to go. There were ten students in total participating in this training, six men and four women. The rest of the group was preparing to set up a base in Congleton.

Gu Shi stood in the open space at the school gate and looked out. The school was surrounded by a layer of white fog, and he could not see what was outside at all.

Wang Feng led them out of the door, and they passed through the fog and set foot on the land of another world for the first time.

A group of people suddenly appeared under a huge tree. There were a few houses scattered around. They all looked very new and seemed to have been built recently.

Wang Feng introduced them: "This is the village we built, and some of our people are usually stationed here.

We will go to Wayo City first. I have commissioned a team of adventurers to escort our team to Congleton. They will wait for us outside the city gate.

Let’s go, the others are ahead.”

The group arrived at the entrance of the village. In a small space, there were seven or eight carriages parked crowded together, and many people were walking around.

Wang Feng walked over and talked to one of them for a few words, then pointed to two carriages and said to them, "You can take these two carriages. The boys can take the front one, and the girls can take the back one."

Gu Shi and several other people climbed onto the carriage. The space inside the carriage was quite spacious, with rows of seats on both sides. It felt like there was enough space for a few more people.

It was their first time riding in a carriage and being exposed to a different world, so the boys all looked excited. Once they got on the carriage, they touched everything and it was so new to them.

We had all been taking classes together for so many days and were quite familiar with each other, so we started chatting as soon as we got in the car.

"I'm finally getting a sense of the reality of traveling to another world. The carriage, the forest, and I'll even meet adventurers later. It's exciting."

"I'm a little worried. I wonder if we'll encounter robbers or something like that on the road."

"Captain Wang has hired bodyguards, and from what I can see, most of the people traveling with us are soldiers. With so many people protecting us, we don't have to worry about bandits at all."

"I wonder if there are any mages in the adventurer group. Although I have a talent for magic, I've never seen what real magic looks like."

As they were chatting animatedly, a man came over and said, "Here, this is your water." Then he handed over six bulging water bags.

"Thank you, I'm a little thirsty." The boy sitting by the door took the water bag and thanked him.

A few minutes after delivering the water, the convoy set off.

It was not a pleasant feeling to ride in a carriage. At the beginning, everyone was still willing to chat, but later on, they were so shocked that no one wanted to talk. They just closed their eyes and leaned against the carriage to prevent themselves from vomiting.

After about dozens of minutes, they arrived outside the gate of Wayo City. Gu Shi heard Wang Feng calling the team members to get on the car, and couldn't help but stick his head out to take a look at them.

It was a team of seven people, three of them were wearing armor, two were wearing leather armor, and the other two were wearing robes.

After they all got on the bus, the convoy started moving forward again.

It was unknown how long it was before Gu Shi heard the order to rest on the spot. He staggered out of the car. Sitting in the car for the whole morning made him feel like he was falling apart.

He was relatively safe, however. A tall boy next to him rushed to the side of the road and vomited as soon as he got off the bus. The faces of the others were also not very good. They were used to taking the subway and bus, so they really had a hard time accepting this carriage.

The roads here are no better than wide and straight asphalt roads, and the combined effect of the two makes the vibration even stronger.

Gu Shi couldn't help but feel pain in his buttocks when he thought about having to ride in a carriage for another ten days.

After resting for more than ten minutes, someone brought them lunch, which was heated sandwiches.

No one complained, as they had been told that the accommodations along the way would not be good, and they had already made sufficient preparations. They were happy to have a hot meal. The only exception was the boy who vomited, as he had no appetite.

The person who delivered the food saw that his face was very pale, so he gave him some motion sickness medicine and hot water. After taking the medicine, the boy felt better.

The journey was bumpy again in the afternoon. Fortunately, they were not in a hurry, so the carriage did not move very fast. Considering the physical condition of some people, they stopped to rest frequently.

At night they found an open area to set up camp. Some people took out tents and sleeping bags from the carriage, while others were responsible for making fire and cooking. Gu Shi and others sat slumped in the spot to rest, unable to stand up at all.

Dinner was beef stew with potatoes and rice, and we also made extra porridge for some people who were prone to motion sickness.

They had no mood for entertainment, so they immediately went into the tent to rest after dinner. They had to stay awake for tomorrow's trip.

The next day, when Gu Shi woke up, he felt his body was even more sore. Although the ground looked flat, it was definitely not as good as the artificially poured ground. There happened to be a bulge where he slept, which made him uncomfortable.

Because he hadn't slept well the previous night, Gu Shi had two large dark circles under his eyes. Even with the bumpy ride, he felt drowsy. The other people in the carriage looked similar to him, and it seemed they hadn't slept well the previous night either.

In just one day, the excitement of personally experiencing another world had dissipated without a trace. The boy who had been curious about mages had initially said he wanted to chat with the mages in the adventurer group, but now he simply didn't have the energy.

They traveled like this day after day, and finally arrived in Cole City in the evening six days later.

Hearing that the team would rest in Cole City for two days, the boys in the car couldn't help but cheer. Gu Shi was also very happy as he could finally have a good rest for two days.

There were many people in their convoy, including the bodyguard team, there were almost sixty people. Wang Feng asked in several places before finally finding a suitable hotel.

Gu Shifen was assigned a double room, and the person living with him was the tall boy who was prone to motion sickness, named Ye Yuan.

There were no conditions on the road, and Gu Shi hadn't washed for so many days. He felt uncomfortable all over. Now that he arrived at the hotel, he took a good shower, changed his clothes, lay down on the soft bed and fell asleep.

It felt so good not to have to get up early to travel the next day. Plus, it had been a long time since I had slept so comfortably, so Gu Shi slept until noon.

He glanced at the bed next to him. Ye Yuan hadn't woken up yet, and no one came to call them. They probably saw that they were feeling uncomfortable and wanted to let them have a good rest for a day.
