Chapter 73 First Arrival in the Royal City

After settling down in the Mage Tower, Gu Shi felt that his holiday life was no different from his previous school days, except that he did not have the fixed courses at the academy.

Gu Shi now studies with Field every day and completes the tasks he assigns. When he has nothing to do, he hangs out in the Mage Tower and occasionally takes half a day off.

Because of the previous college assessment, Field also added a lot of courses that were not related to magic to Gu Shi's schedule, and also assigned him a variety of reading tasks.

Gu Shi had a very fulfilling time during this period. Not only did his strength improve, but his knowledge also increased a lot. Just when he thought that he would spend the rest of his vacation time like this, Field suddenly brought a piece of news.

"Going to a party? What party? I want to go too?"

Gu Shi was quite surprised when he heard Field say that they were going to attend a party. How could such an incompatible arrangement suddenly appear in his peaceful life?

"Yes, you are going too. It's the coming-of-age ceremony for a noble child in the royal city. Their family and my elders have had a relationship before, but it wasn't a significant one.

Originally, it wasn't mandatory to attend, but I thought I'd take you there to show off and let others know I've officially accepted you as my disciple, and this banquet just happened to be a good choice."

It has been a while since Gu Shi became his apprentice, and Field felt it was time to take him out to meet people.

"But I..."

Before Gu Shi could finish his words, Field interrupted him. He didn't give Gu Shi any chance to shirk his responsibility and said directly, "Okay, go pack your things. We'll leave tomorrow morning and stay in the royal city for a while."

Looking at Field's strong attitude, Gu Shi knew that he had no right to refuse, so he could only turn around and go back to the bedroom to pack his things.

The next morning, Field took Gu Shi back to Congleton to take the teleportation array to the royal city.

On the way, Gu Shi asked curiously, "Teacher, why didn't you build a transmission channel between the Royal City and the Mage Tower?"

He saw a lot of place names when he operated the teleportation array of the Mage Tower. Why was there no big city like the Royal City? After all, Field's hometown was still there.

Field explained, "To ensure safety, private teleportation arrays are not allowed in the royal city. Apart from the teleportation tower, the only place where a teleportation array might exist is in the royal palace."

"Wouldn't someone secretly build a teleportation array?"

"The Royal City has special magical protection. Any privately built teleportation array that has not passed approval will be interfered with and will explode immediately if activated."

The two chatted as they walked, and soon arrived at the teleportation tower and headed to the royal city.

Although he was reluctant to attend the banquet at first, Gu Shi was still looking forward to the scenery of the royal city. After all, it was the capital of an empire in another world and it must have its own unique features.

The Royal City did not disappoint Gu Shi's expectations. It was a city with a style completely different from Congleton. Congleton was an advanced magical capital, while the Royal City was a magnificent painting full of history.

The spirits of the people walking on the street were much better than those in other cities Gu Shi had seen. From time to time, one could see a few nobles out shopping.

After the two came out of the teleportation tower, Field took Gu Shi directly to his family's manor in the royal city.

Standing in front of the manor, Gu Shi looked at the royal palace just a few streets away, and then at the vast manor in front of him.

He secretly sighed in his heart that the Burns family was worthy of its long history. Even in the royal city, they had such a large territory. This was just like Blue Star had a super large courtyard house next to the Forbidden City.

When the servant guarding the gate of the manor saw the two of them, he immediately opened the door and welcomed them into the main house.

When they arrived at the main hall of the house, quite a few people were already waiting there.

A man dressed as a butler, who looked mature and dignified, stepped forward and said respectfully, "Good morning, Master Field and this guest."

Field's attitude was unexpectedly gentle. "Good morning, Colin. This is what I told you before. We will be staying here for a while while I take in my new student."

"I see. The room you mentioned before has been tidied up."

After Colin finished speaking, he turned around and greeted Gu Shi, "Hello, Master Gu Shi, I'm Colin. If you need anything during your time at the manor, you can come to me."

Gu Shi felt a little strange when he was called Young Master for the first time, but he didn't know what to say, so he could only simply reply with "Hello".

After seeing the two of them exchange greetings, Field immediately instructed, "Colin, first order a suit for Gu Shi today, and then find someone to teach him some etiquette. We're going to a banquet later."

"Yes, Master Field."

"Ah? Is it that troublesome?"

After hearing Field's instructions, Gu Shi felt a little worried. He had never participated in such a high-end event before. What if something went wrong?

Phil said calmly, "As my student, this is your first time appearing in the aristocratic circle, so naturally you should dress nicely. Don't worry, the clothes are just fancy wizard robes, not those complicated aristocratic clothes.

As for etiquette, you don't have to worry too much, as long as you appear to be presentable, no one will dare to criticize you in front of you."

Despite Field's comfort, Gu Shi was still a little anxious, but he soon had no time to think about it.

Colin acted quickly. Not long after Field gave the order, he brought a team of people to find Gu Shi.

"Master Gu Shi, these are the tailors who are here to take your measurements. Please come to this room. It won't take up too much of your time."

What else could Gu Shi do? He could only stand in the room obediently and let these people measure his entire body.

The set of clothes Field mentioned was really a complete set, from head to toe, including clothes, shoes and various accessories. Looking at these people busying around, Gu Shi began to doubt what Field had just said.

Is this so-called clothing really a wizard robe? With such a complicated process, why does he feel that the clothes he is about to wear are more like some kind of immortal clothing?

After finishing the clothing issue, Colin took Gu Shi to see his etiquette teacher and helped him arrange his daily class schedule.

In order to avoid making mistakes at the banquet and embarrassing himself and his teacher, Gu Shi immediately started his etiquette class.

Fortunately, learning etiquette was not particularly difficult for Gu Shi. The etiquette teacher must have been instructed in advance to teach the more important things and did not go into detail about the minor details.

Because Gu Shi's manners and temperament are very good, he only needs to be polished a little and taught some rules and precautions for the banquet. A few days is more than enough.
