What would happen on the first day back at work after the Lunar New Year? The first thing, of course, was collecting the red envelopes. By the time Liu Jingze drove Su Tiantian back to the company, it was already 8:50 AM. He wasn't late, as the official start time wasn't until 9 AM.
Kuang Yanwen, Shao Youhong, and Huo Xingliang, who had attended the party last night, were all standing at the company entrance. Liu Jingze asked, "What are they doing here?"
Su Tiantian, sitting in the passenger seat, holding a bouquet of champagne roses, was not surprised. "The CFO, production manager, and HR manager are all here. That's because today is the first day of work after the Chinese New Year. The CFO is handing out red envelopes, and the production manager and HR manager are checking to see who's late, hasn't come back, or has asked for leave."
Liu Jingze said: "It's so down-to-earth. There are so many people in the company, do they want to meet all of them at once?"
Su Tiantian said, "Yes, Mr. Lai and Vice President Xu were here last year, but they're not here this year. Brother Jing, you don't have to keep giving me gifts."
Liu Jingze said, "What kind of gift is a bouquet of 11 champagne roses? I was too busy yesterday and didn't buy any. This morning I passed by a flower shop and it was open, so of course I had to buy some. Unfortunately, they didn't have the sunflowers you like."
Su Tiantian said: "Brother Jing, where are we going to eat at noon? Why don't we go to a nearby self-service hot pot restaurant for hot pot? The taste is good and the price is affordable."
Liu Jingze's dark, deep eyes were filled with lingering affection as he said, "Okay, you're more familiar with this place than I am. I'll listen to you."
Su Tiantian's eyebrows curved and she smiled: "Then I'll get off. See you at noon."
Liu Jingze grabbed Su Tiantian and said in a low voice, "Don't rush to get out of the car. Give me a kiss first."
Su Tiantian thought he would give her a deep kiss, and her heart was tingling. She subconsciously licked her lips, but Liu Jingze just kissed her lightly on the cheek and said, "Tiantian, see you at noon."
Su Tiantian walked into the company entrance holding a bottle of champagne roses and said, "Good morning, Director Kuang, Manager Shao, and Manager Huo."
Kuang Yanwen said, "Good morning, Manager Su. Your fiancé is sending you to work. You are so lucky! I am here to give you a red envelope for the start of work. I hope you will work hard in the new year and strive for a promotion and a raise."
Su Tiantian took the red envelope with both hands and said, "Thank you, Director Kuang." Then she turned to Huo Xingliang and said, "Manager Huo, I'll come to your office later. I need a vacation."
Huo Xingliang said with a friendly look, "Okay."
Manager Shao said, "Manager Su, you're thinking about taking a vacation on your first day at work. I'm really envious of you."
Su Tiantian said: "Manager Shao, I submitted my leave application in advance, not starting today."
Back at the sales department, it was bustling with activity; everyone had arrived. Everyone greeted Su Tiantian warmly, "Good morning, Manager Su." Chen Jingwen, the sales merchandiser, saw Su Tiantian and hurried over, her high heels clicking. "Manager Su, you're back! It's been a while since I last saw you. Wow, the champagne rose in your hand is beautiful. Who gave it to you?" Chen Jingwen, 25, had a delicate face, long eyelashes, big eyes, a slightly upturned nose, and thin lips. She looked pretty and lovely, wearing a white dress with a fitted pink blazer.
Su Tiantian said calmly: "It's been a long time since we last met. My fiancé gave it to me."
"Fiancé?" Everyone in the business department was very curious when they heard this. Everyone knew that Manager Su didn't have a boyfriend before the New Year holiday. How could she have a fiancé in such a short time?
Chen Jingwen blinked her big eyes and said innocently, "Manager Su, where is your fiancé from? What does he do for a living? We are all very curious."
Su Tiantian said: "You can see him after get off work at noon. He will come to pick me up for lunch."
The people in the business department were all curious, and several of them whispered that they must go and see what Manager Su's fiancé looked like.
Su Tiantian walked into her office. She and Bai Rongchang were both business managers, each with their own office. She put down the roses, turned on her computer, and prepared to make a list, handing over all the work within three days.
About half an hour later, the landline on the desk rang: "Good morning, this is Su Tiantian."
Bai Rongchang's cheerful voice came from the other end of the phone: "Good morning, I'm Manager Bai, Manager Su, and Vice President Xu wants you to come to the Vice President's office."
Su Tiantian said: "Okay, I'll be there in five minutes."
Su Tiantian shut down her computer, picked up her notebook, and headed for the deputy general manager's office. After knocking on the door, Vice President Xu's voice rang out from inside: "Come in." Su Tiantian pushed the door open and closed it again. Turning around, she saw Vice President Xu and Bai Rongchang there.
Vice President Xu said, "Tiantian, come over and make some tea." Su Tiantian said, "Okay." She sat down, took the tea set from the table, and began brewing tea intently: warming the pot, appreciating the tea, adding the tea, washing the tea, brewing, sealing the pot, and dividing the cups. Her movements were smooth, natural, and graceful. She placed one cup of the brewed tea in front of Vice President Xu and another in front of Bai Rongchang.
Vice President Xu picked up the teacup and said, "It seems that your tuition for learning how to make tea was worth it."
Su Tiantian was a little distressed and said, "Why don't we ask someone else to accompany Mrs. Lai to the interest class next time?"
Vice President Xu said, "There are some people vying to go, such as Chen Jingwen from your sales department and Secretary Zhu, Vice President Huang's secretary. They are very enthusiastic about President Lai and Mrs. Lai, but Mrs. Lai doesn't like it very much."
Bai Rongchang said with a meaningful smile, "Manager Su, I heard that it was Mr. Liu who sent you to work today. I also heard that you came to work with a bunch of roses in your arms. How romantic."
Su Tiantian picked up the teacup, took a sip, and nodded.
Bai Rongchang said, "Think of it as me just gossiping. I really want to know which company Xiao Liu always works for. The driver is so stubborn and won't tell me."
Su Tiantian put down her teacup and said, "Brother Jing has shares in three companies, but others call him Mr. Liu because his father is Mr. Liu."
Vice President Xu's eyes widened: "Three companies, your fiancé is so rich?"
