Tingwei sugar tea is a local delicacy. It is not a simple sugar water. It is made with sugar, peanuts, vermicelli, lotus seeds, lilies, white sesame seeds, red dates and eggs.
It is usually cooked on the birthdays of my husband’s parents or grandparents, and given to the elders early in the morning, and then the elders will give a red envelope.
