Chapter 96 Accompanying Grandma to the Follow-up Clinic

After a while, a black seven-seater SUV drove over, and Liu Jingze said, "Sister Hong, please sit in the passenger seat."

Liu Jingze opened the back door and said, "Tiantian, you get in first. Grandma will sit in the middle. I'll get in later." Su Tiantian bent over to help Grandma Lu fasten her seat belt. Grandma Lu said, "Before, it was only Jingze who took care of me. Now I have Tiantian, which is great."

Sister Hong, who was sitting in the passenger seat, said, "Aunt Lu, your good fortune is yet to come. When Mr. Liu gets married, you can expect to have grandchildren."

Granny Lu smiled happily: "Yes, you are right."

Liu Jingze, who was sitting to Grandma Lu's right, said, "Grandma, are you hungry? We'll have our blood drawn as soon as we get to the hospital, and then we can have breakfast." Grandma Lu put Su Tiantian's hand and Liu Jingze's hand together and placed them on her lap: "I won't be hungry as long as you are here with me."

After an hour's drive, they finally arrived at the hospital entrance. The hospital hadn't officially opened yet, but people and cars were already coming and going. Liu Jingze said, "Brother Tao, we'll get off here. You can go find a parking space later. I'll call you when we're ready to leave." Brother Tao, the driver, said, "Got it, Mr. Liu."

Sister Hong got out of the car and hurried to the hospital lobby. Liu Jingze got out first, then helped Grandma Lu get out. Then Su Tiantian got out as well, and Brother Tao drove away. The two of them helped Grandma Lu into the hospital gate, and then Liu Jingze pointed to a big tree on the right and said, "Let's wait over there."

The three of them stood under a tree. There was a row of stone benches underneath, all of which were filled with people. Many people had come to the hospital early in the morning for treatment. After a while, Sister Hong came over pushing a wheelchair. Liu Jingze helped Grandma Lu sit in the wheelchair and said to Sister Hong, "Sister Hong, go buy some breakfast for Grandma after she finishes having her blood drawn. We'll meet you at the blood draw area."

Sister Hong said, "Okay, Mr. Liu, call me if you have anything." Then Sister Hong took out a red thermos cup from her backpack and handed it to Liu Jingze: "If I haven't returned after the blood test, please give Aunt Lu some warm water first."

Su Tiantian took the thermos cup.

Su Tiantian followed Liu Jingze, who was pushing a wheelchair, into the outpatient building.

Su Tiantian said, "Brother Jing, is there anything wrong with Grandma Lu's foot?"

Grandma Lu smiled and said, "It's nothing. Jingze was afraid that I would be tired, so he rented a wheelchair every time I came for a checkup. I can usually walk without a cane."

Liu Jingze said, "You'd better be more careful. Have you forgotten about the old lady next door who fell and broke her left leg. Does she need surgery?"

Grandma Lu said, "I will be careful. I always ask someone to accompany me when I go for a walk, and sometimes I even use a cane."

The three of them took the elevator to the sixth floor of the surgical building, where there were quite a lot of people waiting.

Liu Jingze said, "I've already made an appointment. Just wait outside the doctor's office. Tiantian, why don't you sit over there and rest?"

Su Tiantian said: "No need, I will wait here with you."

After waiting for a while, the doctor started to work, and the first number he called was Grandma Lu.

The three of them entered the clinic, and Liu Jingze said, "Good morning, Director Deng."

Director Deng's attitude was very kind: "Now that you're here, how is Old Lady Liu doing lately?"

Grandma Lu said, "It's good."

Director Deng said, "Mrs. Liu, please lie down on the bed inside. I'll check you out."

Grandma Lu stood up and slowly walked behind the curtain. Director Liu and a female assistant followed her in.

After a while, the three of them came out, and Liu Jingze hurried to help Grandma Lu. Grandma Lu said, "My feet are not injured, why do I need you to help me?"

Director Deng smiled and said, "Your grandson really cares about you. During your last surgery, everyone in the ward envied you for having such a filial grandson."

Grandma Lu said, "He is indeed filial and considerate to me."

Director Deng said, "I've written out the checkup list. Mrs. Liu, please go get it checked first. Some results won't be available until tomorrow. If there's nothing wrong by then, we'll send someone to prescribe medicine, so you don't have to go in person."

Liu Jingze said, "Thank you, Director Deng."

Director Deng said, "Mr. Liu, please take Mrs. Liu to have her blood drawn first. After that, you can have breakfast. I haven't seen this young lady before. Isn't the nurse here with you today?"

Grandma Lu said, "That's my future granddaughter-in-law. The nurse went to buy breakfast."

Director Deng said, "So she's Mr. Liu's girlfriend. Mrs. Liu, you should be happy. Happiness is also important for your health. Keep a cheerful mood."

Grandma Lu said, "Of course I'm happy. I'll invite Director Deng to our wedding banquet."

The three of them came out of the clinic, and Liu Jingze said, "Tiantian, you wait here with grandma, I'll go pay the bill first." After a while, Liu Jingze came over with a list and said, "Let's go, let's go to the blood test place." Then he pushed Grandma Lu away.

The blood draw was on the second floor of the hospital, and one had to queue up to get a number. When Liu Jingze came out of the elevator, he said, "Tiantian, you stay here with grandma. I'll go queue up to get a number first."

Fortunately, the blood-drawing team arrived quickly. When Su Tiantian saw the blood-drawing situation, she turned her head away. Although she was not afraid of blood, she was still a little scared.

At this time, Sister Hong arrived. She bought millet porridge, tofu pudding, steamed buns, dumplings and soft sugar cakes.

Granny Lu picked up a bun and said, "How can I eat so much by myself?"

Liu Jingze said, "Sister Hong, please buy a few more so you can have more choices."

Sister Hong said, "Auntie Lu, eat slowly. Be careful of the heat."

Grandma Lu said, "Tiantian, have you had breakfast? Let's eat together."

Su Tiantian said, "I've already eaten, Grandma Lu, take your time."

Liu Jingze said: "If I had known earlier, I would have skipped breakfast and eaten with grandma."

Grandma Lu was unwilling: "No, a grown man can't go hungry. You have to eat breakfast on time."
