Chapter 558: Drinking with your wife?

Walking into the hotel's luxurious KTV box, Su Tiantian felt that the lights were too bright and dazzled her eyes. She was glad that the speakers in the box were not turned on, otherwise it would be even more uncomfortable. She leaned against Liu Jingze's shoulder.

The interior of the box is spacious, and the walls are decorated with dazzling crystal chandeliers. The lights flicker like stars, illuminating the entire room. A set of top-level audio equipment is placed on one side of the box, and a large-screen HD TV is hung in front, with clear and lifelike pictures.

Four waitresses, wearing slim-fitting, exquisite cheongsams, stood in a row, their hair neatly tied up. With friendly and professional smiles on their faces, they bowed and greeted, "Good evening, everyone."

Liu Jingze put his arm around Su Tiantian's waist and walked on the floor covered with soft and thick carpet. What surprised Shen Shigen a little was that there was someone following them, not a bodyguard, but Ren Zhengyu.

Shen Shigen was sitting on a high-end brown leather sofa, and there was someone sitting next to him, his secretary Wan Xinyin.

Liu Jingze said respectfully: "Uncle Shen, good evening."

What Su Tiantian called out was: "Mr. Shen, good evening."

Ren Zhengyu greeted him the same way Liu Jingze did: "Uncle Shen, good evening."

Wan Xinyin stood up and greeted with a smile, "Good evening, Mr. Jing." She did not greet Su Tiantian and Ren Zhengyu, and seemed to have some contempt for them.

Ren Zhengyu asked curiously, "You don't call my cousin Master Xiaojing anymore?"

His expression was full of curiosity, but the words he said sounded ironic to Wan Xinyin's ears.

Shen Shigen's expression was unfathomable: "Secretary Wan, this is Mrs. Liu, and this is Young Master Ren."

Hearing the elegant meaning of the voice, Wan Xinyin quickly bowed with a respectful expression: "Madam Liu, good evening, Master Ren, good evening."

Su Tiantian replied, "Secretary Wan, good evening." Ren Zhengyu didn't say anything at this time, just nodded.

Shen Shigen laughed, a hearty laugh. "Xiao Jing, I asked you out for a drink. You're drinking with your wife? Why is Mrs. Liu so strict?"

Liu Jingze said, "Uncle Shen, please forgive me for laughing. It's not that my wife Liu is too strict, it's my little cousin who is a little naughty. He said he came to check it out."

Shen Shigen said: "Alu's son, it seems that he has a very good relationship with your cousin. Come, come and sit down."

Ren Zhengyu tugged at Liu Jingze's arm, and Liu Jingze said, "Thank you, Uncle Shen. My wife is pregnant, and she usually needs to rest at this time. My cousin is very tired after coming from Kuoshan City today, so they have to go back to their room to rest. I'll drink with you."

Su Tiantian said, "Boss Shen, we'll leave first." Ren Zhengyu walked slowly in coordination with Su Tiantian, obviously being very considerate.

Shen Shigen didn't force them to stay, but just raised his left hand and waved: "Xiao Jing, come and sit over here."

As soon as Liu Jingze sat down next to Shen Shigen, a waitress stood beside him and asked, "Hello, sir. Would you like to drink red wine, white wine, or beer?"

Liu Jingze curled his lips and smiled lightly: "I will drink whatever wine Mr. Shen wants to drink."

Shen Shigen was drinking red wine before Liu Jingze arrived. He put his hand on Liu Jingze's shoulder with a complicated expression: "Xiao Jing, I just drank red wine, what if I want to drink a high-concentration white wine now?"

Liu Jingze's expression was clear, and his smile was sincere. "I asked my uncle about you. I know you can drink a lot. I also know that you liked drinking white wine in the past. I wonder if it's still the same after so many years. I can drink some white wine, but my alcohol tolerance is naturally not comparable to yours."

Shen Shigen said to the waiter, "Bring some beer, some snacks and fruits." Wan Xinyin quickly pulled the waiter over and said something.

Liu Jingze naturally accepted the gesture: "Thank you, Uncle Shen."

Shen Shigen said, "Don't be too reserved with me. I called your uncle today and heard that your little cousin ran away from home. Haha, I didn't expect that the reason he ran away from home was actually the truth."

Liu Jingze didn't bother to hide his curiosity. "Is Uncle Shen happy or unhappy about this? The Ren and Shen families are finally planning to marry again. They say they don't want to pass on the grudges of the previous generation to the next. But what A Yu did is made both parties aware of each other's shortcomings. I wonder if they can still continue the marriage?"

Shen Shigen said sarcastically, "Even if these two get married, it's just a rotten pot with a rotten lid. If you want to arrange a marriage, why don't you find a young and promising member of the Shen family to marry your cousin Ren Zhenglin? I guess you know that your uncle wouldn't agree to it, so you choose your cousin's daughter."

The waiter brought up beer, snacks, fruit, and desserts. Wan Xinyin took the beer that the waiter had opened and poured it for Shen Shigen and Liu Jingze. After the beer was poured, Shen Shigen said, "You all go out. I want to have a good drink and chat with Xiaojing."

Wan Xinyin and the waiter went out one after another.

Liu Jingze held the lower part of the beer glass with his right hand, leaned forward slightly, raised the glass slightly lower than Shen Shigen's glass, and said sincerely, "Uncle Shen, I toast you. I really didn't expect to meet you again."

Shen Shigen picked up the cup and drank it all in one gulp. There was longing and sadness in his eyes. He sighed, "The road was far before, and it was not easy to see your mother and you once. Now the road is close, but your mother has been gone for so many years. When I have a hard time outside, I will think of the people who once supported me unconditionally."

Liu Jingze also felt deeply moved: "When I was a child, my mother always told me that my father went out to make money, my uncle did the same, and Uncle Shen did the same. They left their hometown to make a living. What I hoped most at that time was to wake up one day and see my father or my uncle coming back. At that time, they only came once in a long time."
