Chapter 196 Is My Son Back?
Su Nuobai appeared in a remote mountain village, which was surrounded by mountains and rivers and had a quiet environment.
In the distance, you can see people working and children running and playing.
The soul on the urn looked at the surrounding environment, seemed to remember something, and instinctively ran in one direction.
Su Nuobai followed him slowly and stopped in front of a small fenced courtyard.
There were quite a few people in the yard, and the oldest woman had gray hair and fallen teeth.
She sat on the chair and looked at the child in front of her with a smile.
Sitting next to her was a relatively younger old man, who also had wrinkles all over his face but looked in good spirits.
"Grandfather, please move to town with us! There are only two of you here. If something happens, what will we, your children and grandchildren, do?"
Shao Ting looked at the two old men and didn't know what to do.
The old man Shao Er waved his hand and said, "Good boy, Grandfather knows that you are filial, but the person we are waiting for has not returned yet."
"Grandfather, great-grandfather has been missing for many years. If he is still..." Shao Ting didn't dare to continue for fear of upsetting the two old men.
"He will come back. My son will definitely come back." The ancestor of the Shao family suddenly spoke.
Shao Ting sighed. Over the years, the Shao family had many successful children and grandchildren, and they all wanted to take them out to live with them, but the two oldest ones were very stubborn.
I must wait here for the missing Shao Da to come back. I have been waiting for almost a lifetime.
They were only allowed to make repairs to the house and were not allowed to change any of the plants or trees inside, for fear that people would not be able to find their home when they returned.
The Shao family's ancestor seemed to sense something and looked up at Su Nuobai who was standing outside the fence: "Miss, is there something wrong with you?"
Su Nuobai looked at the tearful soul standing behind her. This should be his home: "I was entrusted to send an old friend back home."
The Shao family's ancestor wanted to stand up excitedly: "Yes, is my son back?"
Su Nuobai nodded: "Yeah."
"Second brother, hurry up and invite them in." The ancestor of the Shao family quickly asked his son to open the door and invite them in.
"Ancestor, please sit down. I'll go open the door." Shao Ting hurried over and opened the gate.
But he did not completely trust Su Nuobai and was still cautiously wary of her.
Su Nuobai didn't care. Looking at the face of the Shao family's ancestor, she knew that the end was approaching. She relied on her obsession to hold on and wait for her child to return home.
The Shao family's ancestor waved at her: "Miss, come and sit down."
Su Nuobai walked over to her and sat down. Judging from her appearance, the old woman’s life was not very good. She lost her husband at an early age and raised two children alone.
When his eldest son was fifteen years old, he was drafted into the army. He never saw his eldest son again and only depended on his youngest son for survival.
She believed that her child would come back, so no matter how hard and tiring life was, she gritted her teeth and persevered, and she was almost dying of illness several times.
But she persevered with her determination. She didn't want her child to lose the way home, nor did she want his family to be away when he returned.
"Miss, where is the person you are sending?" Shao Er's voice was a little excited and trembling.
Su Nuobai took the urn out of her bag and placed it in his hand: "He had been looking for his way home, but he was injured and lost his memory, and he couldn't find it until he died."
"How can you prove that these ashes belong to my great-grandfather?" Shao Ting was afraid that she was a liar.
Su Nuobai didn't waste any words. He raised his hand and temporarily opened their third eyes, allowing them to see clearly the soul kneeling in front of the ancestor of the Shao family.
The ancestor of the Shao family looked at the person kneeling in front of him. His face was old and his hair was gray. He was no longer the young man he remembered.
But she knew that this was her child, the child she had been waiting for most of her life: "Boss, you are finally back."
Shao Da kowtowed to her vigorously: "Mother, it is my fault that I am unfilial and made you worry about me."
"It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back." The ancestor of the Shao family raised his trembling hand and wanted to touch his head.
But her hand passed directly over his head, making her eyes wet instantly.
Su Nuobai stood up and went to the side: "You have one hour, just say whatever you want to say!"
Shao Ting looked at his grandfather and the ancestor, and they confirmed that this person was indeed the missing person. His expression was a little complicated.
"The reason why your ancestor has lived so long is all because of this obsession. You should prepare for her funeral as soon as possible!" Su Nuobai walked up to him and said.
"What do you mean?" Shao Ting looked at her in disbelief.
"The end is near." After saying this, Su Nuobai walked out of the yard and found a shady place to sit down.
Shao Ting was in a complicated mood. In fact, she had already believed what Su Nuobai said. The old man's health had been getting worse these days, otherwise he would not have come to persuade the two of them to go back to the town with him.
This centenarian is a first in their town or village. In the past, people living in the village were highly respected.
An hour later, the ancestor of the Shao family could no longer see Shao Da, but he did not panic.
She turned to look at Shao Er: "Second brother, mother has something to tell you."
Shao Er walked over to her with a complicated expression and squatted down: "Mom."
"Mom doesn't have much time left. My wish will be fulfilled if I can wait for your eldest brother to come back. When I'm gone, please bury me next to him."
"Your eldest brother has no children and no family in his life, so I'm here to keep him company. You have children and grandchildren all around you, so enjoy the happiness of family life. Just come visit us when you have time."
"Don't come down to us so early. You've been waiting for your brother here with me all these years. Thank you for your hard work!"
The Shao family ancestor smiled and instructed.
Shao Er's eyes instantly turned red: "Mom."
The Shao family patriarch looked at the people in the yard and said, "I know you are all good children. Don't be sad. This will always happen to everyone in this life. It is God's mercy that I have lived to this age. You should be happy."
The Shao family's ancestor's wrinkled hands helped him wipe the dirt off his face.
After she gave the order, she waved at him and said, "Go ahead. I'll sit in this yard for a while."
After saying that, he leaned back on the recliner holding the urn, humming an unknown tune with his eyes closed.
Su Nuobai saw her soul leaving her body, and a ghost appeared and took the souls of mother and son to the underworld.
When Shao Er saw his mother and elder brother leave, he fainted from grief.
Shao Ting had already burst into tears and quickly arranged for people to prepare for his funeral and to notify his family to come to the funeral.
When he finished his work and went to look for Su Nuobai, she had already gone somewhere unknown.
Su Nuobai returned to the yard yawning and saw Nanny Wei sitting anxiously on a stool.
"Madame Wei, why are you here?"
"Miss, I have something to ask of you." When Nanny Wei saw her coming back, she quickly stood up and bowed to her.
Su Nuobai supported her and asked, "What happened?"
"It's a friend I know. Like me, she works as a nanny in a wealthy family. Their daughter's child went missing yesterday."
