Chapter 222 Paper Charm

Chapter 222 Paper Charm

Su Nuobai had never really thought about this, but whether this thousand-year-old peach tree would still bear fruit remained to be seen.

The two of them had breakfast and left Plum Blossom Villa.

Although Lu Heyu asked for leave and did not attend the court, he still had to go to the Ministry of Justice to handle official business. The paper money from last night had to be handed over to Qi Yu to write the file.

Su Nuobai simply set up a stall and brought the sleeping Xiao Jiang over to tell stories and collect money.

A young man hurriedly sat down in front of her stall: "Master Su, I want you to help me find something."

"What is it?" Su Nuobai looked at the boy's face. His family had fallen on hard times, but he was diligent and studious.

"This is an inkstone left by my ancestors. It is usually kept in a box and we never take it out to use. But when I opened it today, it was gone."

"Although this inkstone is not valuable, it is left by our ancestors after all. I would be sorry to our ancestors if I lost it."

Ding Qing had a worried look on his face and looked at Su Nuobai anxiously.

"When was the last time you looked at it?" Su Nuobai looked at him and asked.

"It was five days ago. That day my father took out the inkstone to show his friends, saying that it was left by his ancestors." Ding Qing recalled and said.

"Has anyone come to your house since then?" Su Nuobai asked.

Ding Qing shook his head. "I'm not sure about that. I'm not at home very often. I've been going to the Ghost Confucian Academy to learn how to read recently, so I don't know if anyone has been to my house."

Su Nuobai took out a piece of yellow paper from her bag, drew a lost property tracking talisman on it with cinnabar, and handed it to Ding Qing.

"Take this talisman back and burn it in front of the stove door. Chant the curse Siming's death seven times. After you finish chanting, shout at the stove door three times, 'Return the lost thing.'"

"If the item was stolen within three days, the person must return it. Otherwise, they will suffer from a headache and distress, and start talking nonsense."

Ding Qing carefully put away the talisman, bought some buns, and handed them to Xiao Jiang: "Thank you, Master Su."

Xiao Jiang put the buns into his bag and said, "Someone wants a broken inkstone?"

"Who told you it was a broken inkstone?" Su Nuobai glanced at him.

"Could it be an antique?" Xiao Jiang didn't dare to believe it.

"You are right. This inkstone was made by a famous artist. It is worth a lot of money in the hands of someone who knows the business." Su Nuobai tapped his head lightly.

"I can't read, so I use it to crack walnuts." Xiao Jiang curled his lips.

"Why don't you let Feng Zhi teach you?" Su Nuobai looked at him.

Xiao Jiang: You want a flying zombie to learn to read?

Su Nuobai: "How about going to the Ghost Confucian Academy? Master Yu teaches in the evenings, so you're a perfect fit."

"That's not necessary." Xiao Jiang turned his head away and didn't look at her.

"Master Su, I would like to ask you to go back and help my husband." A beautiful middle-aged woman sat in front of Su Nuobai with a tired look.

Su Nuobai saw that she had a sinister aura and asked, "What's going on?"

Gu Zishu didn't know how to start: "Master Su, please come back with me. I really don't know how to say it."

"Let's go." Su Nuobai put the things in the bag and followed her.

Xiao Jiang said something to the others and ran to chase her.

Gu Zishu's carriage stopped not far away. As soon as she got on the carriage, she said, "Master Su, my husband has two faces."

"Huh?" Su Nuobai was stunned when he heard it.

"Born?" Xiao Jiang looked surprised.

Gu Zishu shook his head: "Not really, it just grew recently. Now I feel completely different and I don't dare to go out."

"I discovered it by accident, and it nearly frightened me to death. I was afraid it would frighten the children and servants at home, so I asked them to move to another house temporarily."

"My family is not in Shengjing City. I came to you because I heard of your great name."

She was afraid that Su Nuobai would not go there by herself once she heard that it was not Shengjing City.

"Is it far from Shengjing City?" Su Nuobai asked.

"The carriage will take three days." Gu Zishu said apologetically.

Su Nuobai: "Stop the car."

"Master Su, I know the journey is a bit far, but the price is negotiable. Can you give me an offer?" Gu Zishu watched her get off the carriage and chased after her anxiously.

"I didn't say I wouldn't go, but your carriage is a bit slow, taking me six days to go back and forth. Let's get another carriage. Just have your driver drive the carriage back slowly."

After Su Nuobai finished speaking, she took out a paper carriage from her bag and threw it on the ground beside her.

Gu Zishu and the maids' eyes widened: "This, this is too amazing."

Su Nuobai got on the carriage first and saw that they were standing there without moving. "Hurry up and get on. Let's finish it soon so I can come back for dinner earlier."

The old woman helped Gu Zishu get on the carriage, and she was very careful, fearing that she would crush the carriage if she exerted too much force.

When a few people sat down nervously, they were still very cautious.

"Where is home?" Su Nuobai asked.

Gu Zishu told them their home address and felt the carriage start to move, driving very smoothly.

They opened the curtain and looked outside, only to see a series of afterimages, and could not make out any objects clearly.

I almost vomited from looking at them, so I quickly lowered the curtain and dared not look outside again.

But just as they lowered the curtain, the carriage seemed to stop.

Su Nuobai lifted the curtain and turned to look at the few people: "Is this the place?"

The old woman looked outside, her eyes widening: "Husband, Madam, we're here."

"Ah!" Gu Zishu saw that the gate outside was indeed his own house.

Su Nuobai jumped off the carriage and waited for a few people to come down and put the carriage away.

She turned her head to look at the sky above the mansion, which was shrouded in a sinister aura.

"Let's go and see your husband."

Before Gu Zishu could come to his senses and even forgot how he entered the mansion, he took her to the door of another room.

"Master Su, my husband is in this room. He won't let us in and just leaves food at the door."

"He said he was afraid he might lose control and hurt someone, so he told us not to go in."

Su Nuobai nodded: "Just wait outside."

"Master Su." Gu Zishu quickly called her.

"Anything else?" Su Nuobai turned to look at her.

"We have invited several masters before, but they were all scared away and could not cure the patient." Gu Zishu said hesitantly.

Su Nuobai smiled faintly: "Just because they can't cure it doesn't mean I can't cure it."

She patted Xiao Jiang's shoulder and said, "Let's go!"

Xiao Jiang pushed open the door and said, "Let me see what's going on."

He had just stepped in and hadn't seen what was inside clearly when he felt several tentacle-like things rushing towards him.

The nails on his hands grew long and he chopped at the flying objects.

All I could hear was the sound of metal colliding.

Su Nuobai stood aside and watched the sparks fly: "Tsk tsk tsk, Xiao Jiang, your claws are not working well either!"
