Chapter 23 Choosing a Partner

Chapter 23 Choosing a Partner

After breakfast, Su Nuobai and Feng Zhi slipped out, leaving only two little paper figures in the yard to deal with Aunt Luo and the others.

Grandpa Jia came to the stall early in the morning. He also helped Su Nuobai occupy the spot where he had set up his stall yesterday. When he saw that they hadn't come, he stretched his neck to look.

When Su Nuobai came, she saw three small stools placed on her seat yesterday. She turned around and looked at what Grandpa Jia was sitting on, and confirmed that they were the same style.

"Master, you prepared this for me."

Uncle Jia nodded with a smile: "I saw that you didn't bring any stools yesterday and it was very cold sitting on the ground, so I brought three for you. I made this myself, so don't mind."

Su Nuobai didn't dislike it at all. She asked Feng Zhi to sit next to her and chat with Jia San.

Feng Zhi saw that there were not many people around, so he said something to Su Nuobai and left.

Su Nuobai didn't ask him where he was going. She just kept her own excuse and listened to Jia San talk about the follow-up of yesterday's incident.

After Uncle Jia sent away the customers who were buying vegetables from his stall, he said, "After you left yesterday, the government sent people to arrest Liu Chun."

Su Nuobai pulled out a handful of melon seeds from somewhere and gave some to Uncle Jia: "Is Xu Qin's money coming back?"

"If he doesn't take it back, Liu Chun's family has no land and no money. Xu Qin can only blame himself for being unlucky." Uncle Jia took the melon seeds without hesitation.

"master."

Su Nuobai looked at the person who came. It was none other than Xu Qin, the protagonist of their conversation. "Boss Xu, do you want to talk to me about something?"

Xu Qin nodded and sat down on the small stool in front of her: "I want the master to help me find a servant."

Su Nuobai smiled: "If you have a candidate, you can bring him here for me to see. If you have a portrait, that's fine too, but the portrait may be a little different."

"I brought the people here." Xu Qin said, pointing to the three young men behind him.

The three of them were also puzzled. They came to apply for the job of waiter, so why were they dragged to have their fortune told?

But after all, it’s not their money, so it doesn’t hurt to take a look.

Su Nuobai looked at the faces of the three people.

After Xu Qin waited for her to finish reading, he asked the three people to go back and wait for notification.

He turned to look at Su Nuobai: "Master, what do you think of these three people?"

Su Nuobai said of the first person: "The first one has an irregular mouth shape, with lips and teeth that don't cover each other. The mouth is a cashier. People with irregular mouth shapes have poor relationships with others and rarely get help from others."

"And his mouth is crooked, thin, and with exposed teeth, which only makes him a troublemaker. He's a man with a loose tongue and often gets into arguments with others."

"If you hire him as your assistant, you might end up being burdened by him."

Xu Qin took it to heart and decided to go back and find out if it was true as the master said.

Seeing that he had listened, Su Nuobai said, "The second type has cheeks visible from the back of their heads. They are usually more serious and cautious in their work, but they are also very selfish and tend to be ungrateful."

"When faced with a conflict of interest, they will often betray you mercilessly."

Xu Qin asked anxiously, "What about the third person?"

Su Nuobai smiled and said, "The third person has bright eyebrows and eyes, a straight gaze, and a prominent brow hill with clear contours."

Xu Qin didn't quite understand: "Is this good or bad?"

Su Nuobai: "He has a strong sense of responsibility, is energetic and insightful, and is full of confidence in his work. He is a person who is consistent in his words and deeds, has the ability to implement, and is smart and capable."

Xu Qin smiled happily. Fortunately, not all of them were unusable. At least there was one that could be used.

"Master, how do you collect the divination fee?"

Su Nuobai looked at Xu Qin's face and saw that he had lost money recently, but his family was still quite well-off. "Boss Xu, please buy me a hundred meat buns."

"Okay, I'll go right away." Xu Qin went to buy meat buns for Su Nuobai without saying a word.

When Jia San saw Xu Qin leave, he came over and asked, "Master, is what you just said true?"

Just as Su Nuobai was about to say something, he saw the old lady who had lost her wallet yesterday, laughing and unable to walk away, holding three meat buns in her hand: "Master, this is the divination fee we agreed on yesterday."

Uncle Jia looked at her and said, "You're still so happy even though you lost your money!"

Aunt Qian rolled her eyes at him and said, "I didn't bring much money yesterday. I only lost a few dozen coins in total."

Su Nuobai looked at her face and said, "Although you lost money yesterday, it was a blessing in disguise, offsetting a disaster."

Aunt Qian smiled even more happily when she heard this. She turned to look at Uncle Jia and said, "Look, the master said that I turned a disaster into a blessing."

"This is called losing money to avoid disaster." Uncle Jia said with a smile.

Aunt Qian laughed and said, "That's right, let me see what vegetables you are selling today."

Seeing that business had come to his door, Uncle Jia didn't say anything to Su Nuobai for the time being.

Xu Qin had someone come over with a large basket of meat buns: "Master, here are a hundred buns, would you like to order some?"

Su Nuobai shook his head: "No need."

Xu Qin bowed respectfully and said, "Thank you very much for today, Master." Then he left with his men.

Aunt Qian looked at the basket full of steaming buns and said, "So many buns."

Su Nuobai took one and took a bite. The skin was thin and the meat was thick, and the taste was very good. "Uncle, Madam, would you like one?"

"No, no, we always go out after breakfast." Aunt Qian shook her head quickly.

Su Nuobai looked at the alley across the street and said, "Uncle, could you please help me watch the stall? I'll be away for a while."

Uncle Jia smiled and nodded: "Okay, go ahead!"

Just as Su Nuobai was about to bend down to pick up the basket, someone next to her got there first.

Feng Zhi picked up the basket and asked, "Where are you going?"

Su Nuobai pointed to the alley across the street and said, "Go over there."

Feng Zhi saw a lot of little beggars in the alley opposite and immediately knew what she was going to do.

"Last night, the fourth young lady's carriage was hit, and someone rolled out of the carriage and was recognized."

Su Nuobai listened to this nonsensical sentence and thought to herself, "Are you saying that she can't hide her illness anymore?"

"Well, not only can she not hide it, but someone also recognized that she had cat plague, which is contagious." Feng Zhi followed not far behind her.

"Tsk tsk tsk! My fourth sister is so pitiful!" Su Nuobai said pitifully, but the smile on her face was extremely bright.

She walked into the alley and walked towards a little beggar.

The little beggar saw her puzzled expression, but soon his attention was drawn to the basket in Feng Zhi's hand. The meat buns inside were so fragrant.

Su Nuobai looked at him without taking her eyes off the basket: "Do you want to eat?"

The little beggar nodded: "Yes."

"Go wake them all up, wash your hands, and come over to have some buns." Su Nuobai looked at his pitch-black little paws.

"Give us something to eat?" The little beggar looked at her in disbelief.

Su Nuobai nodded: "Go quickly, it won't taste good if it gets cold."

The little beggar got up from the ground and ran into the alley to call for help.

When they arrived, except for his relatively clean hands, his whole body was still pitch black.

Feng Zhi gave each of them a meat bun: "Eat slowly, don't choke."
