Chapter 65: Death Too Peaceful
Su Nuobai looked up at the man who had already picked up his chopsticks to eat. After not sleeping for a whole night, he looked a little haggard and his clothes were a little wrinkled.
There doesn't seem to be much difference.
Lu Heyu looked up and met her eyes: "Miss Su Qi wouldn't be so stingy!"
Su Nuobai thought that this table full of people was his treat, so he picked up some food that he thought was delicious and said, "Eat."
Lu Heyu looked at the food in his bowl, his eyes full of smiles. He said nothing more and lowered his head to start eating.
He was really hungry, having been busy since last night.
Su Nuobai touched her stomach contentedly. All the plates on the table had been cleared away.
When the waiter saw the plate without even a scrap of food on it, any doubts he had in his mind disappeared.
Lu Heyu asked the waiter to bring the tea set, and then he made some tea himself and poured a cup for Su Nuobai. "Could you tell me next time you make such a big noise?"
Su Nuobai picked up the teacup and smelled the fragrance: "It was just a coincidence last night. I was entrusted by someone. Who knew I would encounter such a thing."
Lu Heyu blew gently on the tea in the cup: "You happened to make me sleepless all night, how are you going to make it up to me?"
Su Nuobai blinked and said, "I don't have any money. You wouldn't look down on me if I served tea to Lord Lu. Besides, I'm not that kind of person."
Lu Heyu lowered his eyes and looked at the teacup in his hand: "I thought you would pledge yourself to me."
Su Nuobai looked at him in horror: "No way! When did Lord Lu become such a vulgar person?"
Lu Heyu glanced at her and said: I am not an ordinary person, am I an immortal in heaven?
Su Nuobai felt a little guilty when he looked at her. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Do you have anything else you always carry with you?"
Lu Heyu looked at her in confusion: "What?"
"Give you some compensation." Su Nuobai had already thought about what to give.
Lu Heyu took off a silver bracelet from his wrist. It was given to him by his mother, who said it was good for the body and could ward off evil spirits, so he was not allowed to take it off.
Su Nuobai took the bracelet from his hand and knew it was different as soon as she touched it.
The inside of the bracelet is engraved with scriptures that can ward off evil things. No wonder he suffered much less harm in the Ministry of Justice.
Lu Heyu saw her looking inside the bracelet: "This is what my mother asked Master Liaokong for."
Su Nuobai nodded, thinking that this old monk should have some skills.
She reached out and carved a sound transmission talisman on the silver bracelet.
Lu Heyu watched him curiously as he carved talismans on the bracelet. A light blue light flashed, and the talismans disappeared from the bracelet.
"What's this?"
"Sound transmission note. If I encounter any problems in the future, I will use it to find you."
She thought for a moment and said, "If you need help finding me, you can just blow into it and you'll be able to contact me."
Lu Heyu's calm eyes showed emotion: "How far is it okay?"
Su Nuobai nodded: "I think so, but I haven't tried it specifically."
Lu Heyu put the silver bracelet back on his hand: "Thank you very much."
"I was also afraid that something like what happened last night would happen again, so that you wouldn't say that I didn't inform you." Su Nuobai finished the tea in the cup.
Lu Heyu looked at her: "You are ready to return to the Earl's Mansion now."
Su Nuobai thought about it and it seemed that nothing was wrong with her, so she prepared to have a good sleep. It would be nice to change the place to draw luck.
"Well, get ready to go back to bed."
Lu Heyu felt a little envious of her seeing her like this. She could go back to sleep, but he had to go back to deal with the affairs of Prince Yi's Mansion.
Su Nuobai took out a few files from her bag: "Take some time to check on these people."
Lu Heyu saw that the file in her hand was the one Feng Zhi had given her, so she reached out and took it. "What's the problem?"
Su Nuobai looked at his slightly furrowed brows and said, "It was too peaceful to die, and it was too coincidental."
Lu Heyu checked all the files: "He died in his sleep, peacefully, with a smile on his face."
Su Nuobai nodded: "The age and gender are different."
Lu Heyu looked up at her: "Do you suspect there's something evil going on?"
"I can't rule out this possibility, but it could also be poison or something else. After all, I didn't see these people die."
"Now we can only find out if they have anything in common to find the real reason."
Lu Heyu frowned and said, "I'll let Xinggui tell you when there's news on this matter. You might have to wait."
"No hurry." Su Nuobai finished his business and prepared to leave.
Lu Heyu picked up the scroll and threw it to Xingyun: "Let's go."
Su Nuobai returned to the Earl of Qing'an's Mansion quietly. Now outside the yard, an old nanny was teaching them etiquette.
She watched secretly by the window, and she learned to make paper figures so well that even the maids who wanted to find fault with her could not find any fault with her.
A little paper man came in from the door frame, pulled her clothes and pointed at his own eyebrows.
Su Nuobai knew that something might happen, so she placed her finger on the little paper man's eyebrows and saw the picture.
Cai Mingyue looked at Su Yuexin and Su Yuelin: "You better think about it carefully. Either you ruin her reputation, or you will have no future."
Su Yuexin pursed her lips: "Princess, do you really want to do this?"
Cai Mingyue looked at her and said, "Don't worry. If this gets out, it will just be an accident. Who would suspect you?"
Su Yuelin tugged at Su Yuexin's clothes and winked at her to agree.
Cai Mingyue looked at Su Yuexin: "As long as you handle this matter well, even if you can't enter the palace, your aunt will arrange a good marriage for you."
Su Yuexin was very moved. She didn't want to be someone else's concubine, nor did she want to marry an old man as his second wife. "Is what the princess said true?"
Cai Mingyue looked at her with a haughty expression: "Of course it's true. You concubines, let me be frank. Who you marry in the future is just a matter of my aunt's words."
"As long as you handle this matter well, you will naturally benefit."
Su Yuelin didn't care whether Su Yuexin agreed or not: "Princess, don't worry, we will do this well."
Cai Mingyue nodded with satisfaction: "Very good, I will send someone to deliver the captured centipede to you later. When she goes to take a shower, you can quietly pour it in through the secret door."
Su Yuexin's face turned pale when she heard this: "Will this cause a death?"
Cai Mingyue glanced at her with disdain: "What are you afraid of? If she died or went crazy, wouldn't it be better for you?"
Su Yuelin was delighted. This time she went to the palace, ostensibly to attend a palace banquet, but in reality it was for the new emperor to select a concubine. If she could catch his eye, then she would have nothing to fear in the future.
But both of them are not as good-looking as Su Yiyao and Su Nuobai. Now Su Yiyao is ruined, what if Su Nuobai is ruined too?
Aren’t your chances of winning greater?
