Extra Chapter 11: Talking about the Dowry (2/2)

Chi Lingfeng trembled when he saw each one of them.

Jian Si Ning hid aside and waited until he put the photo back in place before making some noise and going in.

"Mom, do you really want me to be with Li Shan?" Chi Lingfeng asked suddenly.

I'm not willing to do that! Jian Si Ning had already started to curse in his heart, but his face was still kind:

"To be honest, of course I'm unwilling, but if letting you two be together can make my son truly happy, then Mom doesn't care."

Chi Lingfeng seemed to have suffered a huge blow in his heart and became a little depressed, but he still forced a far-fetched smile towards his mother: "Thank you, Mom."

It was a rainy day when he made an appointment with the Li family to discuss the marriage, which was exactly like Chi Lingfeng's mood.

After looking at those photos, the passion for love in his head seemed to have been extinguished, and he was much calmer now.

Except for Li Shanyi, Li's father Li Qi also came.

Although the old couple were only a few years older than Jian Si Ning and Chi Ye, they looked like they were in their sixties with their thin and shriveled faces.

The family was certainly not the kind of people who would make compromises. They came in empty-handed and brought a house full of mud.

Li Qi was very enthusiastic. As soon as he entered the door, he grabbed Jian Si Ning and called her "daughter-in-law".

Mr. Li acted a bit like the girl's parent. When he entered the room, he first looked around the room with his hands behind his back, and then sat down on the seat.

Li Shan, on the other hand, has been protecting her belly and holding her waist since she entered the room, looking like she is about to orgasm.

Jian Si Ning asked Chi Sui'an to wash some apricots that she bought specially for the guests, the kind that were not too sour.

Chi Sui'an heard that his brother's girlfriend's family was coming to discuss the marriage, so he took half a day off to stay home and help his mother entertain them.

She never thought that her presence would make Father Li say something shocking: "Is this your daughter? She doesn't have a boyfriend yet? I just checked, and your house isn't too spacious. My daughter has to move out before she gets married."

Chi Sui'an was so angry that he threw the basket in his hand: "What do you mean? You want to kick me out before I even get married? Why?"

Father Li raised his chin proudly: "My daughter is pregnant with your eldest grandson. If you don't move out, it will affect my daughter's pregnancy."

"Yes, Ling Feng, I'm not used to having outsiders at home. Your sister and you are twins, a boy and a girl. She's grown up now, shouldn't she be married off to get you a dowry? What's the point of just eating and drinking for free at your parents' house?"

Li Shan acted fearless, relying on the baby in her belly, and she started to act like a woman before she even entered the door.

"Brother, this is the sister-in-law you are looking for. Has her mind been entangled by the foot binding cloth of feudal society?" Chi Sui'an pointed at Li Shan and asked Chi Lingfeng to express his opinion.

Chi Lingfeng was in a heavy mood today, and he was still worried about those photos.

Jian Si Ning spoke before him, and she said solemnly: "There is no throne to inherit in my family, and we don't have the eldest son or eldest grandson system. In our family, all sons and daughters are equal, and no one has the right to drive my daughter out."

Li Xi suddenly smiled and said, "My dear relative, what you said is not right. Isn't this daughter raised to help the brothers and sisters at home? If you don't want your daughter to marry off, that's your business. You should give her the betrothal gift and it shouldn't be less."

When Father Li heard about the betrothal gift, he immediately became excited: "Yes, the betrothal gift must be enough. After all, our daughter will have your grandson."

Jian Si Ning pulled a chair over and sat down, patting the non-existent dust on the corner of his clothes: "Really? Then tell me a number, I want to hear it?"

Father Li cleared his throat, obviously prepared: "Then listen to me, for the sake of good luck, you should prepare 288,000 yuan in cash, and three golds worth no less than 30,000 yuan. And when our Zongyao gets married, you can pay 100,000 yuan for the house and furniture."

After hearing this, Chi Sui'an couldn't help but say, "Two hundred and eighty thousand? And you want three golds? Isn't this asking too much? The mayor wouldn't ask for so much to marry his daughter, right?"

Jian Si Ning said in a cold tone: "Sui Sui, go back to your room. I want to hear your eldest brother's opinion. If he is determined to marry this daughter-in-law, we will sell everything we have, even blood and kidneys, to raise the money for him."

She wanted to see if her son could be saved.
