6? Four people

6 Foursome

◎Xie An came back and saved her◎

Why did the wind suddenly blow for no apparent reason? Li Jintang looked around, feeling a vague sense of unease. Seeing the fortune book still stuck to the side, she breathed a sigh of relief, leaned over and picked it up. Then, a deep voice whispered in her ear:

"It's evil."

She turned around and saw Qu Lingfei discussing something with Qiu Yan. A moment later, the girl approached her and said solemnly, "Atang, my senior brother and I are going to investigate the source of that gust of wind. You stay here and keep an eye on the silver. We'll be back soon."

Li Jintang didn't understand why there was such a thing as a gust of wind, but seeing the other person's seriousness, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous. She nodded, suppressing her curiosity, and said, "You can go with peace of mind. I'll wait here."

After the two of them left, the book of destiny in his arms poked half of its head out, as if trying to look forward: "Where did they go?"

Li Jintang shook his head, thought for a moment, and then said, "Let's go catch the monster."

"You're not going to such a fun thing?" It kept trying to get out, its tone a little excited: "It's so boring to stay here."

"Qiuyan asked me to keep an eye on this place," Li Jintang reached out and pushed it back, "Aren't you afraid of being eaten by a monster now?"

Before she finished speaking, she heard heavy footsteps. She looked up suddenly and saw several dark figures emerging from the alley not far away.

When the dark shadows walked into the sunlight, she could see that they were a few burly men with big arms and thick waists and faces covered with flesh.

Feeling vaguely uneasy, Li Jintang turned around and was about to escape, but in the few seconds of hesitation, those people were already in front of him.

"You were the ones who made so much noise just now and earned so much money, weren't you?"

They stood in front of the stall in a swaggering manner, like forming a wall, completely covering the girl.

Li Jintang quietly hid his purse. Although his heart was beating fast, he remained calm and said, "There is not a single coin here. You have come to the wrong place."

"Yeah?"

A few people snorted coldly, their eyes had already moved behind her and fixed on the bulging purse.

"No? We just saw it all. It's you little brats here that's why we have so little income," one of them said, and was about to grab it. "Give it to your grandfather!"

Li Jintang stepped back and dodged his hand sideways. The man didn't have time to retract his strength, so he pounced forward and missed the target. In such a panic, he had to use his hands to hold down the table to avoid falling.

He yelled, "What are you still standing there for? Catch this bitch for me!"

"Don't come over here." The moment her back hit the cold wall, Li Jintang knew she had reached her limit. She calmly reached out, offering her purse, her voice trembling. "If you want it, I'll give it to you. Can you please let me go?"

The two men looked at each other and laughed out loud: "If you had recognized the value of this earlier, we would have let you go. Now it's too late!"

"Hey," Li Jintang's eyes widened, his face showing joy: "Brother Qu, Sister Qiuyan, you're back?"

Several people were startled and looked back, but they saw only pedestrians with similar looks coming and going on the street. When they turned their heads again, the person in front of them and his purse had disappeared. Only then did they realize that they had been tricked.

There was a barrage of curses behind her, but how could she dare to look back? She ran forward with all her might, but the shadows behind her still covered her.

Suddenly she felt her sleeves tightened, and she threw out her purse without looking back. The purse was filled with a lot of hard objects. Immediately, she heard the man scream, and his footsteps stopped.

Li Jintang was exhausted from running, so she turned into an alley and leaned against the wall to catch her breath. When she could no longer hear the sound of pursuit, she quietly stuck her head out and looked outside.

The three strong men were standing where they were just now, their faces were blue and purple - probably because of anger. There was a flat purse and a few stones lying on the ground.

Then she heard a roar: "She must be ahead, don't let her get away!"

Her heart trembled, knowing that she would definitely not be able to outrun them. She quickly scanned the surroundings, trying to find a place to hide.

Her gaze finally fell on a large round wooden barrel. She walked over quickly and opened the lid, but her heart suddenly felt cold.

There was only half a bucket of water in it, and a few leaves were floating on the surface of the water. It was turbid and had a foul smell.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer. She put her hand on the dagger and was about to turn around to fight with him, but suddenly she saw a black shadow flying down from the eaves, and when it landed, it just happened to block her and the three people.

"Bullying a girl in broad daylight, I've lived for so many years, and I've learned a lot."

The boy raised the corners of his lips and looked at them with a smile.

Listening to this voice, who else could it be but Xie An?

Li Jintang was so surprised and delighted that he forgot his own situation for a moment: "Fuzi, are you okay? I guess you weren't taken away by the monster."

Xie Changyan glanced at her sideways and said calmly, "Stay away."

"Hmph, you stinky brat, you're so delicate and yet you want to be a hero. Grandpa will take you with him..."

Before he could finish his words, a figure loomed before him. He quickly tried to block it, but how could he resist? With a loud bang, he leaped forward, slamming into another barrel, crushing it and sending the foul water inside cask out in a continuous stream.

“Big Brother!”

The remaining two turned around and exclaimed, muttering something like "I want to avenge my eldest brother", but there was a bit more fear in their eyes when they looked at the young man.

"You guys come along too."

His voice was neither hurried nor slow, and before anyone could see clearly, there was another noise, and the two men flew out one after the other. One of them broke the window pane of a house, and the other fell squarely on the big man next to the wooden barrel, screaming continuously.

Xie Changyan frowned and wiped the dust off his hands before turning to look at her.

The girl's cheeks had flushed red from running and her fear, and it hadn't faded yet. She stared blankly at the scene, still feeling a lingering fear. Seeing the man turn around and look at her, she quickly opened her mouth and said, "Thank you very much."

Xie Changyan glanced around her, but saw no one else. He asked suspiciously, "Where are those two people from the Immortal Realm?"

"They went to catch monsters," Li Jintang answered casually, then felt strange again: "Fuzi, how did you know they were from the fairy world?"

"..." His eyelashes trembled slightly, but he didn't respond. Instead, he asked, "Why don't you go?"

Li Jintang said, "They told me to look after the silver, so I stayed here."

After she said that, she shook the fortune book and silver coins fell out one by one.

Fortunately, she had made preparations and hid the silver in the fortune book, otherwise it would have been snatched away by the three men by now.

The young man asked again, "Aren't you afraid they will cheat you?"

"Why did you lie to me?" Li Jintang couldn't hold the silver, so she wrapped it all in her skirt and looked up at him: "The silver is still with me, they will come back."

Xie Changyan lowered his eyes to look at the silver and did not continue the topic.

Seeing that he didn't leave but just stood there with her, Li Jintang felt strange. She organized her words and was about to ask when she heard him say:

"You saved my life once. How about I allow you to ask a question once in the future?"

He turned sideways, looked directly into her eyes, and said in a calm tone, "I will tell you everything you want to know."

Li Jintang said without hesitation: "No."

The young man was stunned when he heard this: "Why not? Do you think it's not enough?"

"No," Li Jintang said hurriedly, fearing he might misunderstand, "You just saved me, too, so we're even."

"You saved me, and I saved you, so I'll grant you one condition. Isn't that what you're getting? Why not?"

"Of course it's inappropriate." Li Jintang calmed down, looked back at him, and said seriously, "Daddy said you shouldn't take advantage of others."

As if he didn't expect her to say that, Xie Changyan was slightly stunned, and his eyes gradually became playful.

"How can I take back what I've said?" He drooped his eyelids wearily and said lazily, "I'm giving it to you."

After hearing the last sentence, Li Jintang caught a glimpse of two figures approaching from a distance. They left him and ran over: "Sister Qiuyan!"

Qiuyan stopped and stood there waiting for her.

The girl lowered her skirt and held the silver in her hands. The pile of silver was so high that it almost covered her eyes. She smiled and said, "The silver is all here. It's not lost."

When Qiuyan and her companions returned to the stall, they found it had been overturned. They were worried that something had happened to her. But now, seeing her standing before them unharmed, still protecting the silver well, they couldn't help but be overjoyed: "Sister Atang, I really wasn't wrong about you!"

"Oh, right," Li Jintang remembered the person who had just arrived, and pointed at the young man behind him, saying, "His name is Xie An. He was with me before, but he got lost today. It's thanks to his help just now, otherwise the silver would have been taken away."

After hearing this, both of them looked in the direction of her finger.

Qu Lingfei took the lead and took a few steps forward, extending his hand towards the young man leaning against the wall. "Thank you, brother. Nice to meet you. My name is..."

"Qu Lingfei," Xie Changyan raised his eyelids and said calmly, "The one next to you is your junior sister, no need to introduce her."

"If that's the case," Qu Lingfei withdrew his hand in disappointment. Hearing this, he said in surprise, "Thank you, Brother, for your foresight. It would be great if you could join us."

"Not really," he said with a smile, his gaze fixed on Li Jintang. "Thanks to Miss Li for telling me just now, I was thinking of joining you. But you're overestimating me, Xie."

Li Jintang was also stunned when he heard this. He didn't know when he had revealed the names of Brother Qu and Sister Qiuyan?

"That's great," Qu Lingfei had originally thought the three men were too weak, and now that he had recruited another man, one with martial arts skills, he said happily, "The sun is setting, so why not rest here and continue our journey tomorrow?"

After he finished speaking, he took the silver from Li Jintang, put a hand on the young man's shoulder, and said with a smile: "Don't worry, brother Xie, I will pay for everything tonight."

Xie Changyan moved calmly and removed his hand from his shoulder.

Because it was inconvenient to travel at night, the three of them adopted Qu Lingfei's suggestion and found the nearest inn to rest for a day.

The next morning, when it was light, several people walked out of the inn in the morning light.
