91 The Truth (I)
◎Be good, don't listen◎
"What did you say?" Qu Lingfei's eyes were filled with shock, but then he became convinced that he was deceiving him. "Junior sister asked me to rescue Atang quickly because she was worried she would be in danger if she stayed with that devil. And you're contradicting me? Are you trying to stop me?"
Qi He was so angry at these words that he suddenly became more clear-headed: "Stop you? If I can kill that devil and rescue my junior sister, I will be willing to die. It's not your turn..."
He paused before he finished his words. Since he wanted to collaborate with the immortal world, he had to discredit the demonic leader even more to increase his chances of success.
"Just now, I was ignorant and spoke nonsense," Qi He chuckled and patted his shoulder. "But that person's cultivation is far superior to ours. If you try to force your way in, I'm afraid it won't work."
Qu Lingfei was still preoccupied with his junior sister, who was disguised as a puppet, and had no intention of listening to his nonsense. He asked anxiously, "What do you think, Master Qi?"
"Why don't you go back to the Immortal Realm and ask your good master for help?" Qi He urged him, seizing the opportunity. "If all the Immortal Lords from the Immortal Realm come, I'm sure the demon will be unable to withstand the siege of so many people. Once the demon is eliminated, peace will reign. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"
This made some sense. Qu Lingfei frowned, hesitant. "That's hard to say. I accidentally lost the treasure my master gave me earlier, and now it's in that devil's hands. And... there's also the golden elixir in my body. I'm afraid his current power is not even comparable to my master's."
Before he finished speaking, his eyes suddenly became clear: "Master ordered me to retrieve the treasure and the golden elixir. If I do so, I won't have to fear that demon anymore."
Qi He glanced at him sideways and sneered as if he had just heard a joke: "You say that easily. This man is so cunning, how could you steal something from under his nose?"
"No matter how powerful he is, he doesn't have the ability to clone himself," Qu Lingfei snorted coldly. "Then you go and rob the people, and I'll take advantage of the chaos to look for treasures. With the two of us working together, and with my junior sister, I don't believe he can handle it."
Unexpectedly, although this man is not very smart, he is very loyal. Qi He looked at him with a little more admiration in his eyes and did not refute him again.
After all, as long as he can rescue his junior sister, he is willing to try any method.

The candlelight in the room lit up, and the chill immediately dispelled. Li Jintang took off his cloak and prepared to walk to the wall to hang it up.
Suddenly, her waist felt tight, and the boy hugged her from behind, his head hanging on her shoulder, his nose brushing against her hair, wanting to remember every scent.
Li Jintang trembled a little, pulled his hands away from his waist, turned around and looked at his slightly red eyes, feeling helpless: "Why are you so clingy..."
The young man wasn't annoyed when she pushed him away. He lowered his eyelashes, casting a small shadow under his eyes, and said in a muffled voice, "Atang, do you find me annoying now?"
She sighed, cupped his cheeks with both hands, the light in her eyes trembling: "Don't think too much, do you know that you smell strongly of blood?"
He was slightly startled when he heard this, lowered his head and sniffed his sleeve, then took two steps back, put his hands behind his back, and lowered his head like a child who had made a mistake.
Li Jintang stared at him and asked, "Why did you fight with that guy just now? He was just a homeless person. Wouldn't it be better to just chase him away?"
"He was the one who started it," he blinked innocently, took another step forward, and rested his forehead on her shoulder, "Don't you care if I'm hurt?"
Is he...acting like a spoiled brat? After a few seconds of silence, Li Jintang couldn't help but reach out and rub his head. He remained silent and motionless, like a cat without a temper.
There was no wind, but the shadow of the candle on the wall swayed. Suddenly, there was a rustling sound outside the window, as if someone was deliberately lowering their footsteps, but he still caught it keenly.
Xie Changyan raised his head almost instantly, protected the person behind him, raised his fingertips slightly, and a golden light broke through the air and shot directly at the doors and windows.
"Come out." He said coldly.
There was silence outside the window for a moment. Li Jintang took his hand and looked up at him: "Xie An, let's leave now. It's easy to get hurt if we fight."
He paused, ignoring the noise outside. He lowered his eyes to look at her, his eyes flashing: "You don't let me do it because you're afraid I'll get hurt?"
However, before she could answer, a deliberately low voice came from outside the window: "Junior sister, is that you?"
This was the voice of the homeless man from today. Li Jintang paused. For some reason, she felt that this voice was very familiar, as if she had heard it for many years, but they had clearly never met.
Xie Changyan said with a forced smile, "She's not here."
"..." She raised her head, feeling strange: "Why are you answering for me?"
"It's all the same, isn't it?" He leaned forward, smiling gently: "Atang, do you want to pay attention to him?"
Li Jintang's eyes froze for a moment, a layer of confusion forming in them: "I, I don't know... I don't seem to know him."
The doors and windows were knocked open, and Qi He broke in through the window. He happened to hear this sentence and suddenly felt his whole body stiffen, and he forgot to say the next words.
Xie Changyan, oblivious to the surroundings, gently grasped her chin, forcing her blank eyes to focus solely on him. "You haven't met him before. He's just an insignificant outsider."
She blinked, trying to avoid that gaze: "If you haven't seen it, then you haven't seen it. Let go of your hand..."
He let go of her hand and smiled: "Then if I kill him, you won't blame me, right?"
"Devil, don't try to seduce my junior sister!" Qi He pointed the long whip in his hand at him, his eyes almost overflowing with anger. "It's my fault for not judging people well before. I actually wanted to cooperate with you to kill that bastard in the fairy world. Humph, if I had known this would happen, I shouldn't have agreed to give you the antidote!"
Was the "junior sister" this person was referring to him? Li Jintang was stunned for a moment. Just as he was about to speak, his vision was blocked by a vast expanse of white.
Xie Changyan smiled faintly, gathering traces of spiritual energy at his fingertips: "You came here uninvited, do you think your life is too long?"
He glanced at the other person casually. His body was covered in blood, and his clothes on his arms were torn in several places. The hand holding the whip was trembling slightly, but not because of fear.
This man was injured by him just now, but he was still able to break through the guards' blockade and get here. He really has some skills.
"Junior sister, you don't remember me, but do you remember what Master left behind?" He completely ignored the murderous intent surrounding him, his eyes fixed solely on her. He grasped a gleaming green jade hairpin in his hand, and with a flick of his wrist, he turned the inscribed side towards her. "This is what Master left behind. One for each of you, and it counts as..."
He suddenly stopped, then smiled gently and glanced at the person beside her with a hint of provocation: "Consider it as a token of our love."
Li Jintang's pupils suddenly contracted, and her gaze flickered between the hairpin and Qi He. Unsure of what was going on, she pressed the hand of the young man beside her and stumbled, "Xie, Xie An, don't kill him..."
"This is not mine..." She lowered her head and took out a jade hairpin that was similar in shape, except for the words engraved on it.
Seeing that she was still keeping the jade hairpin well, Qi He's eyes suddenly lit up and he couldn't help but take a step forward: "Junior sister, do you remember anything?"
"I..." Li Jintang hesitated and glanced at the person beside him, "This was indeed given to me by my father, but..."
But why didn't she remember having a relationship with someone? Furthermore, it was someone she didn't even know.
"Atang has a bad memory," Xie Changyan said with a smile on his face, but a cold look flashed in his eyes. He snatched the hairpin from her hand and threw it away. "It's just a hairpin. If you don't like him, it's not really a token of love."
Qi He's face suddenly changed: "Junior sister, don't listen to his nonsense!" Before he finished speaking, he suddenly covered his chest and a mouthful of black blood splattered on the floor without warning.
"What's wrong with you?" Li Jintang was startled and without thinking, she walked over to check on him. She didn't know why, but the sight of this homeless man was like seeing an old friend, and seeing him injured made her feel very uncomfortable.
She bent down, but was deflected by a flash of golden light before she could touch Qi He. Someone grabbed her waist, and Xie Changyan caught her stumbling body. He sighed and wiped the tears from her eyes: "Atang, are you crying for him?"
He leaned over and whispered in her ear, "Don't you recognize him? Why are you crying?"
"I, I don't know..." Her face was filled with pain, she had no idea why she was crying. Instinctively, she grabbed the corner of his clothes and begged him, "Xie An, please don't kill him, okay?"
The young man's breathing stagnated slightly, and the murderous intent in his eyes grew stronger. Suddenly, a sword light illuminated the entire room and stabbed straight at the two of them.
"Demon, let her go!" Qu Lingfei jumped into the house, his pupils suddenly constricted. He did not expect Atang to be here as well. He wanted to retract the attack, but it was too late.
Xie Changyan lowered his hands and took back all his spiritual power. He suddenly threw the person to the ground, freeing his hands to protect her head. The sword blade grazed his back, and his white clothes were instantly stained with blood.
Li Jintang was protected by him and fell to the ground without feeling any pain. She opened her eyes slightly, and the sight of blood-red stung her.
"Xie An?!" She hugged him and sat up in shock, patting his back helplessly with her fingers. "What's wrong with you? You... don't move. Let me see where you're hurt."
A sickly smile appeared on the boy's pale face. He gently wiped away the tears on her cheek with his fingertips: "Are the tears you are shedding now for me?"
Li Jintang stared at him in a daze, his voice choked with sobs: "You could have clearly blocked it just now, why did you have to..."
"I want you to feel sorry for me," he said, his lips curled up slightly, his obsidian eyes staring at her, still tinged with jealousy. "That man just bleeds a little, yet you feel so sorry for him. Wouldn't it be the same for me?"
“…”
"Are you sick?" She didn't want to care about him anymore and reached out to press his shoulder. She thought he was pretending, but unexpectedly his face turned even paler in an instant.
She quickly withdrew her hand, then raised her eyes and noticed the other two people standing in the room. She pursed her lips and said, "Brother Qu, you and this young man..."
"Atang, we're here to save you." Seeing this, Qu Lingfei just wanted to quickly deal with this devil. But he was also worried that he would use Atang to block his sword again, so he said anxiously: "He has been injured by me. If you kill him, you will be freed..."
"What restraints?" Li Jintang looked at the two of them blankly, then shook his head without hesitation: "I won't kill him, and he didn't restrain me..."
The young man stared at her sideways, his eyelashes trembling slightly when he heard her words, and his dark eyes were suddenly lit up by her words.
"Junior sister, once he dies, you'll remember everything." Qi He staggered forward, blood still smearing the corners of his mouth. "When you disappeared without a trace, I thought you had already left with your parents, but I didn't expect to see you again today. Junior sister, don't worry, I will avenge Master and the others for you. Then you and I will live in seclusion and never ask about the affairs of this world again."
"What revenge?" Li Jintang's fingers suddenly froze. When he looked up at him, his eyes were filled with resentment: "Who said my parents are dead? They are both fine. You are not my senior brother, so don't call me junior sister..."
They weren't dead, how could they be dead... How could a person in a storybook know about her relatives? He must be lying.
Tears fell like beads from a broken string. Li Jintang raised her hand to wipe away the tears, but someone gently covered her ears, and the whole world became quiet in an instant.
The young man's fingertips trembled slightly as he carefully held the person in his arms, a gentle smile on his lips: "Be good, what they say is all lies, don't listen."
