Chu Qianxue remained calm and gently raised her head.
"That's good."
"Please go back and tell your brother that I do not know him and ask him not to bother me again."
"If you pass the imperial examination with flying colors one day, I will congratulate you."
"Farewell!"
After saying that, she stood up and prepared to leave.
The woman in the pink dress immediately blocked Chu Qianxue's path.
"Chu Qianxue, stop right there! What do you mean?"
"You look down on my brother?"
Chu Qianxue looked at the woman opposite her and said, "Miss Zhu, I made myself very clear just now. I don't know your brother. You've asked the wrong person."
Zhu Wushuang's face flushed red and then turned pale. She had just said so much, but this person hadn't listened to a thing?
"Chu Qianxue, my brother is Zhu Qingfeng, you can't possibly not know him."
"Otherwise, why would my brother go back and talk to my parents, asking them to come and propose marriage?"
[Chu Qianxue?]
I remember her.
After the imperial examinations, she was forced into an engagement with Zhu Qingfeng, and died suddenly three years after their marriage.
Lin Rui'an frowned slightly.
Zhu Qingfeng and Lin Shixuan are good friends.
Back when Zhu Qingfeng was still at Fenghua Academy, the two were known as a pair of talented individuals.
Later, Zhu Qingfeng went to the Imperial Academy, leaving only Lin Shixuan.
“Miss Zhu, I am not yet of marriageable age, please do not speak nonsense.”
“I’m not making this up. My brother said he’ll come to your door to ask for your hand in marriage after the imperial examination.”
Chu Qianxue bit her lip and said calmly:
"The marriage is arranged by the parents and the matchmaker."
"If I were truly destined to be with him, I wouldn't need you here to advise me. Please step aside!"
"No!" Zhu Wushuang spread her arms wide, blocking the way. "Chu Qianxue, today is the Mid-Autumn Festival. You must give my brother an answer."
"Zhu Wushuang, don't go too far."
Chu Qianxue's calm eyes swept over the woman in front of her.
A sense of displeasure lingered in my heart.
Wei Yunshu stood to the side, listening to their conversation, and said angrily:
"Is this how people force marriage?"
"Is there no law left in Bianjing?"
As she spoke, she walked over and stood directly between the two of them. "Sister, are you trying to force me into marriage?"
Zhu Wushuang was immediately angered when she saw that her business had been interrupted.
"Little brat, get out of here."
"Why are you interrupting when adults are talking?"
Wei Yunshu said with a grin, "I may be small, but you don't look that big either."
"You actually forced respectable women to marry your brother here?"
"Your brother likes her, so why doesn't he step in and ask you, his sister, to help him?"
"Oh, I see. You're the 'troublemaker nun' that people are talking about, right?"
Zhu Wushuang's face darkened when she heard a child of only a few years old insulting her like that.
She pointed at Wei Yunshu and angrily cursed:
"You shameless hussy, whose child are you? You have no manners at all!"
"Today I'll teach you a lesson on behalf of your mother."
As she spoke, she raised her hand and struck directly at Wei Yunshu.
Wei Yunshu didn't expect her to actually dare to hit her. She grinned and tilted her head back, waiting for her to hit her.
Surprisingly, instead of feeling pain, I was hugged.
"Young lady, why are you helping me?"
A gentle female voice sounded in her ear, and Wei Yun opened her eyes. "Ah, sister, how come she..."
Lin Rui'an grabbed Zhu Wushuang's wrist.
"What are you doing?" she shouted angrily.
"Young lady, let's talk this out. Why did you have to hurt my sister?"
"Could it be that you intend to go to the government office to argue your case?"
Lin Rui'an's gaze was cold, which sent chills down Zhu Wushuang's spine.
She angrily withdrew her hand, and gritted her teeth as she walked away, saying:
"Chu Qianxue, you've got some nerve, just you wait!"
Seeing that someone was helping her, Chu Qianxue curtsied to the group and said, "Thank you for your help, young master and young lady. I am very grateful."
“Don’t be afraid, young lady. When you encounter someone like this, you can simply tell her the laws of the Holy Kingdom.”
"Yes." Chu Qianxue raised her eyes and looked at Lin Rui'an.
"May I ask which family you, young master and young lady, belong to?"
Lin Rui'an pointed to Wei Yunshu beside him and said, "She is the daughter of the Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, and I am Ye Lanyin's eldest son."
Ye Lanyin?
Isn't she just the eldest daughter of the Ye family who divorced the Marquis of Zhenbei, causing a sensation in Bianjing?
"Thank you both very much. I will definitely visit you another day to express my gratitude."
Wei Yunshu waved her hand: "Big sister, no need to be polite. I just can't stand people like that."
"Never marry into a family like that."
"A troublemaking aunt and a brother who never shows up must have a bad family."
Chu Qianxue chuckled softly, "I didn't expect you to know so much at such a young age."
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
"That's good." Wei Yunshu then said, "Because my aunt is a troublemaker, and my father is busy."
"That's why my mother was always bullied by her."
"Sister, you must listen to me."
Lin Wanwan looked at Wei Yunshu and felt that she seemed somewhat familiar with her sisters.
But I can't quite put my finger on where it feels familiar.
Lost in thought, I drifted off to sleep.
...
The next day.
Finally, after shouting himself hoarse in prison, the Marquis of Zhenbei was released on the third day of his imprisonment at the hour of Chen (7-9 AM).
He rushed towards the Marquis of Zhenbei.
Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and he cannot be late.
He ran back to the mansion in a daze, and when he saw the scene inside, he thought he had gone to the wrong place.
He went back to the doorway and looked at the words on the plaque.
After confirming several times, I went back in.
