Chapter 49 Ancestral Worship - Urinating and Fainting

Upon hearing this, the old lady nearly fell backward.

Fortunately, Granny Mei Li behind her reacted quickly and caught her.

After Ye Lanyin finished speaking, she happily stepped into the ancestral hall and instructed Hua Mei to put the things down.

The faces of the adult and two children behind them turned pale instantly.

Lin Wanwan snuggled against Ye Lanyin's chest.

I don't want to perform ancestral rites.

They're not my ancestors.

[You're not my father, I won't kneel!]

The little one's rosy cheeks were flushed as he giggled incessantly, clutching a milk bottle bigger than a human head and pressing it against his chubby face.

The old lady became even angrier when she heard her laughter.

Her beloved granddaughter was viciously insulted by Ye Lanyin, and she had nowhere to vent her anger. Now, this vile woman is even laughing.

"You insolent fool!" the old lady roared angrily. "Is the ancestral hall a place for a mere infant like you to run wild?"

"These are our ancestors, this is a sacred place. How can you be so ill-mannered!" Wanqing was the most sensible one.

Ye Lanyin pursed her lips tightly, a hint of anger flashing in her eyes.

"Mother, what does a three-month-old child know?"

"Children are simple-minded; they either eat or sleep, laugh or cry. How could they possibly understand the matters concerning your ancestral hall?"

"If one truly understands, wouldn't one become a demon or monster?" Ye Lanyin turned around and looked at the old lady.

"Sigh, speaking of this issue of upbringing, I'd like to say a few more words. I heard that the vixen from yesterday was just a one-year-old child. Such a young child already knows how to harm the people and use insidious means to stir up trouble. She's vicious to the core, and I bet her bloodline is filthy!"

“Our Marquis’s mansion is different. The Marquis has always been filial and devoted to me. His children are also filial and obedient. It’s not something a vicious person could even dream of!”

Then Ye Lanyin lowered her head and looked at Lin Wanwan.

"Wanwan, be good. Mother is going to perform the ancestral rites later. You mustn't cause any trouble for Mother."

The little guy giggled again.

[Strange person, he's an ancestor already, why is he crying during the New Year?]

It's strange, really. After being reincarnated as a baby, this body is becoming more and more like a child's.

Ugh, I can't control myself, how embarrassing!!!

The old lady's face flushed red and then turned pale, and she almost fainted from anger. She gritted her teeth and said, "Lanyin, how can you talk nonsense if you haven't seen it? It's all just people talking nonsense. I've heard of that child. I heard he's very filial."

Ye Lanyin took three incense sticks and placed them in the old lady's hand. "How can we know the details of other people's children? The people have discerning eyes, and listening to the people is always the right thing to do!"

"Mother, let's perform the ancestral rites. Father-in-law is freezing. Remember to burn this money for him later."

"The daughter-in-law dares not disobey her father-in-law."

"My daughter-in-law will take the children back first. She'll be going back to her parents' home tomorrow, so we need to prepare in advance."

They completely disregarded the old lady's darkened face.

After Ye Lanyin finished speaking, she handed the incense to Lin Shixuan and Lin Shiming.

Lin Shiming and Lin Shixuan knelt down and kowtowed first, then handed the incense to the maid.

Seeing the old lady about to step forward and speak, she moved away from her and went to the children, saying, "You can put the incense up there."

Lin Rui'an and Lin Chang'an naturally heard Lin Wanwan's thoughts.

I understand now.

The two men then accepted the incense, bowed three times, and placed it in the burner.

The old lady wanted to step forward again to discuss it further.

Ye Lanyin knelt down with incense in her hand and said, "Father-in-law, Father-in-law, I have conveyed to Mother the words you two told me in your dreams. Don't worry, Mother will burn paper money for you herself in a little while."

Wow, Mommy is so awesome!

The old lady was practically throwing a tantrum.

The old man is coming up to find her.

Ye Lanyin's heart skipped a beat. Had she guessed correctly?

"Mother, your daughter-in-law is gone."

Ye Lanyin led the group away without looking back.

"Shixuan, Shiming? Let's go, Mother still has many things to tell you."

The two hesitated, glancing at the old lady, until she closed her eyes and nodded before they left.

After the person left.

The old lady was so angry that she sat down in a chair, leaning on her cane.

Yesterday, she fell off a chair and dislocated her leg bone. After the doctor repositioned it, she is still in a lot of pain.

I'm getting old, and straightening it now would be too much of a strain!

"Hmph, you bitch, now that you've had a daughter, you're showing off."

"I didn't know her unborn daughter was so wicked. If I had known, I would have poisoned her while she was still in the womb!"

Ye Lanyin changed from the moment she was born.

Originally, they thought it was a daughter, so there would be no threat and no one would be sad if she was stillborn. Unexpectedly, Ye Lanyi broke through all three obstacles in a row.

"Madam, please don't be angry. Madam said that the old master appeared to her in a dream. You should burn paper money first."

The old lady waved her hand, "Who knows if it's true or not."

She used to stay in the ancestral hall to watch over the burning incense until it died down, but now she just left without any regard for that.

"What a vicious woman, she has no conscience at all."

Thinking of the children Zou Shuang'er had given birth to, she felt gratified.

"Go burn it, how many points, you old geezer, even in death you still have to annoy me."

Having no other choice, Granny Mei took the paper money to the courtyard and burned it.

Suddenly, the once vibrant blue sky was filled with gloom.

Dark clouds loomed over the white clouds, drifting rapidly through the air.

The main gate of the ancestral hall creaked and swayed.

It was slammed shut with a "bang".

Granny Mei glanced back, then continued burning the incense as if nothing had happened.

Inside the house, the old lady was so frightened that her face turned pale and her hands trembled so much that she could barely hold her cane.

Suddenly, a warm sensation flowed from her lower body.
