Chapter 97 Back to the Beginning!

On the other side of the black market.

Inside the room sat an exceptionally noble man, completely out of place with his surroundings.

His black robe blended seamlessly with the darkness, exuding an aura of mystery. The faint gold threads visible through the garments made one wonder about his identity.

"I have bestowed upon you the highest honor, yet you lack even this much ability. What use are you to me?"

His voice was icy cold.

"No, my lord, please give me another chance. I will definitely find those people."

On the ground lay a man also dressed in black, kneeling at the man's feet like a stray dog.

The man flicked his robe.

The man on the ground was slammed against the door, spitting blood from his mouth.

Immediately afterwards, a black mask fell off.

Ignoring everything else, he crawled back to the man and pleaded, "My lord, please give me a chance. I promise I will not let you down."

The man pondered for a moment:

"I'll give you one chance. If you don't kill him by tomorrow, I'll tear you to pieces!"

"Yes!" He gripped the ground with trembling hands.

The words were spoken.

His figure disappeared into the night.

The masked man slumped to the ground.

The next day.

The masked man sat in the hall.

He looked indifferently at the several burly men in front of him.

"Yesterday, the meat market was burned down. If you don't bring those two little brats to me today, I will kill you."

"Yes, boss!" the men replied in unison.

The masked man rubbed his wrist.

The humiliation he suffered must be repaid to him tenfold today!

With the meat processing plant burned down, the black market was essentially an empty shell.

More than ten years of hard work have been in vain.

His source of income was cut off.

...

"Well, Cheng Cai, have you found a water source yet?"

"No, it's pitch black here, I really can't find it."

Sun Chengcai was covered in sweat, squatting on the ground groping around in the dark.

'Hehe, this is fun, this is fun.'

The little devils were playing and chasing each other on the steps, finally revealing childlike smiles.

'Although we died, we've avenged ourselves.'

'Those evil spirits are gone; we don't have to be afraid anymore.'

"Waaah, I want to go home, I miss my mother. I've been dead for so many years, I don't know how she is doing."

Lin Wanwan opened her round eyes wide.

His gaze fell on the little boy at the bottom of the steps.

She stretched out her little hand and waved it twice in the air.

The young man was startled and turned around.

He noticed that Lin Wanwan was smiling at him.

He burst into tears.

"You're saying I can't go back?"

Lin Wanwan nodded.

'I miss my mother. My mother was the wife of the Grand Commandant. I was sold here when I was three years old. Don't let my small stature fool you, I'm already ten.'

'Waaaah.'

A large group of little ghosts floated over and comforted him with heartache.

Don't be afraid, your mother definitely wants you to be happy.

The taller imp in the lead hugged him and patted him on the back.

"Look, where are they? Arrest them!"

A group of men dressed in black ran from a distance.

"Oh no, what should we do, Brother Qian Shu?"

"Waaaah, they're here! We can't find the entrance."

"Help! Is anyone outside?"

"Help!"

Several children were banging and shouting at the stone gate.

Several men in black menacingly walked up the steps one by one.

"Where do you think you're going to run? You're all dead. I'll fry you all into crispy pieces. You've got some nerve, daring to burn down the boss's meat market."

Xiao Chengyun was terrified.

He watched as Lin Wanwan tapped small stones on the ground not far away.

He hid behind Sun Chengcai in fear, then pushed him to Lin Wanwan's side.

"Don't even think about catching us! My brother Cheng Cai is both wise and brave; you're the ones who are doomed!" He put his hands on his hips and glared at the group of people.

Sun Cheng was taken aback. "Intelligent and brave?"

“Brother Qian Shu, you must have made a mistake. My father specially consulted a Taoist priest to tell my fortune and changed my name because I was not destined for success.”

"Huh? Don't you have a brain?" Xiao Chengyun's mouth dropped open.

"No, I don't have a brain, I only have a head!" He looked scared and then pushed Xiao Chengyun forward.

"You should go ahead, right?"

"No, no, no, I can't be in front." Xiao Chengyun ran behind him again, trembling.

Sun Chengcai wanted to cry. "Why...why?"

"I...I need to poop!" he said, his face flushed.

"Hehe, you're all dead meat! It doesn't matter who's in front!"

"You've caused us so much suffering, we'd be no human if we didn't throw you into a vat of boiling oil today!"

Hei Zi stretched out his hands and grabbed Sun Chengcai fiercely.

"Help! Help!"

The other dozen or so children screamed in fright when they saw this.

"ah--"

Just then.

Lin Wanwan suddenly loosened her grip on the stone.

Lin Wanwan's entire body was swept away by the water to a distance, and then she crashed heavily to the ground.

The children exclaimed, "Sister Wanwan!"

Just then, water gushed out from where Lin Wanwan had just sat, rushing wildly towards the stone gate with a deafening roar.

The stone gate was blocked, and the water flowed down the steps like a waterfall, rushing downwards.

Wen Ruxuan was soaked to the bone. She hurriedly ran to Lin Wanwan's side and picked her up.

Then quickly check the wounds on her back.
