291 First Marriage Proposal

291 First Marriage Proposal

Sun Sicheng and Ping An fell asleep in the second half of the night. When they woke up, they saw the morning light.

Maybe it was because of the two years of drought, so there were fewer weeds. Ping An looked carefully and decided that it was still possible to ride slowly on horseback, but before that, he still had to fill his stomach.

"Master, please sit here and rest for a while. Don't come out. It's okay even if food comes. I'll go find something to eat nearby. It doesn't matter what, as long as I can fill my stomach."

Sun Sicheng did not refuse. His kung fu was just average to begin with, and if he really encountered something and he didn't have the skill to do it, he would bring trouble to his own apprentice.

Ping'an held the dagger, and there was a small scimitar inside his thin jacket, and some medicine. It was inconvenient to carry a crossbow, so thinking of the crossbow, he also had a short arrow dipped in poison in his sleeve pocket, wrapped in a quiver. He should have stabbed the man in the chest with that arrow last night.

Ping An shuddered at the thought. He was only cruel in words. If he were asked to kill someone, he would find it difficult to do it.

In fact, this is not true.

Not every life is precious.

On an October morning, in the mountains of the northern border, a cold wind was blowing. Ping An walked forward carefully and actually found a few wild persimmons hanging on the branches. They were bright yellow and ripe.

Ping An didn't take it off immediately, and walked to the left again.

Half an hour later, he held a groomed rabbit in his left hand and a net bag woven from thin rattan in his right hand. In the bag were a dozen persimmons and some small bamboo tubes filled with mountain spring water.

With these things, we can speed up during the day, and maybe we can meet Uncle Ming and the others.

"Ping An, you actually caught some prey, that's awesome."

Ping An grinned. No wonder people say that children need to be praised and only then can they grow. He also likes it. Who doesn’t like to hear nice things?

"Master, there is a stream ahead. I will take you there to wash up later. Unfortunately, I don't have a water bag. There is some mountain spring water in these two bamboo tubes. It is very clean and you can drink some."

Ping An quickly found a bag of dry firewood and used a dagger to cut three thick sticks, two short and one long. He passed the rabbit through the long stick and then used the two short sticks to build a simple barbecue rack.

It was easy to make a fire under the rabbit. He usually carried a fire starter with him at all times, and the rabbit was soon roasted.

"It's a pity there's no salt or seasoning, otherwise it would be very fragrant."

Sun Sicheng couldn't suppress the smile on his face, "Do you think this is a picnic? And the water bag? And the salt and seasoning?"

Ping An also smiled. The atmosphere was particularly relaxed when he was with the master, which was something he never had when he was with his husband. Perhaps this was fate.

Neither of them ate persimmons. This is common sense that all doctors know: it is best not to eat persimmons when you are hungry, otherwise it is likely to cause abdominal pain.

After less than half an hour, the rabbit was roasted until it was golden yellow. It was not bad even without any seasoning. Each of us ate half a rabbit and a few persimmons. Our stomachs were full and our moods improved.

Sun Sicheng said, "Ping An, although you are my disciple and you should do whatever you want, but Master always means what you say. Plus, you saved Ah Wu a few years ago, so that means you saved my life twice.

The life-saving grace should be repaid with one's own body. The master has decided to give Awu to you. What do you think?"

Ping An blushed: "Master, you didn't drink, otherwise I would have thought you were drunk. How old am I, how old is A Wu, isn't it my duty to save you? A master and his disciple are like father and son."

Sun Sicheng was happy in his heart, because he and Ping An had a father-son relationship.

But he still frowned and said, "Brat, since I know that we are like father and son, I can make the decision about your marriage. It's settled.

Speaking of age, you are already twelve this year, and Awu is ten years old. You can get engaged in one or two years, and it won’t be too late to get married in six years.”

Ping'an lowered his head. Although he had thought it through clearly that this Awu was not that Awu, if he had to get married when he grew up, then Awu would be the most suitable one.

"Why, you're still not happy? Have you been wronged?"

Ping An said softly, "Master, I will listen to you, but there is no rush for this matter. You must discuss it with Master's Wife and A Wu first. You can't force it."

Sun Sicheng raised his lips and said, "I am doing this for your own good, little brat. Have you ever thought about what would happen if your father arranged for you to marry the daughter of a minor official in the capital, and if your personalities don't match well, what would you do?

I'm not bragging, my Awu is good in every way, and my Sun family is no worse than other families. If I give Awu to you, you won't lose anything, but a great profit."

Ping'an thought about it and realized that his biological father did have this right, but his stepfather and stepmother also had this right. It just depended on who would take the first step.

"Okay, I'll listen to you. But I still say that you need to discuss this with your family and get their consent. Also, can you not tell anyone about this for the time being?"

"That's enough. Just keep it in mind. I'll find a way to tell Jin Ping later so that your father and stepmother will know about it. Don't let a kid be promised to multiple families."

Ping An smiled and shook his head. The master just liked to make fun of him.

The two chatted and laughed as they rode for a while before finally reining in their horses.

"Master, this is not right. We are going the wrong way. I don't see the stream."

Sun Sicheng frowned, "That's right, isn't it this way? We should have crossed the stream long ago. We have been riding for a while, but unfortunately there is no sun today, and we don't know what time it is."

The two men got off their horses, and everything around them was the same, with only big trees, firewood, or dead branches. After turning around a few times, they became even more dizzy, and felt that both sides were right.

Ping An was unsure, and in fact, Sun Sicheng was also unsure. His sense of direction was not very good, and he was hit on the back of his neck yesterday, so he was still a little dizzy.

"Master, how about we go a little further? This forest is too deep and we really can't figure out the direction. If we're wrong, we'll go back immediately."

Sun Sicheng thought about it and realized that this was indeed the case. He was just chatting and laughing with Ping'an and forgot to look carefully. He would have been able to tell it when he just stood up.

The bad thing was that both of them were dizzy when they came here, and their sense of direction was not good. Ping An was a little anxious, and the more he walked, the more he felt something was wrong.

He stopped and said, "Master, I'll set up a small formation. You can rest inside for a while. The horses are tied to the side. I'll go ahead and check. If I don't see what's right, I'll turn back immediately. It's the same formation as last night, a trapping formation and a concealing formation. You can see outside while you're inside the formation, but others can't see you. What if Uncle Ming and the others come looking for you?"

Sun Sicheng had no choice but to agree. Wanli and the others would never leave them alone. Ping'an's idea was right. It was much safer and faster for him to walk on the snow than to ride a horse.

It's not convenient to ride here.

A quarter of an hour later, Ping An had set up the formation.

Sun Sicheng thought he was smart, but he couldn't figure out the trick at all.

The two men tied up their horses and Sun Sicheng sat down. This boy's formation was very powerful and there was nothing to worry about.

"Go ahead, but come back soon. Even if you have time, you still have to be careful."

Ping An once again looked at the place. It was slightly uphill, but the location was good. His formation was also well laid out. "Okay, Master, wait for me."

He went into battle safely and lightly. After a few breaks, Sun Sicheng could only see his disciple's receding back.
