Chapter 23 Stupid

Cheng Cheng originally wanted to see what Gu Luoxi was planning to do and whether she needed help, but seeing the 'warmth' surrounding the two in the kitchen, she decided to quietly leave.

With a cheeky smile on her face, she was about to go back when she met Qi Sheng's probing gaze and suddenly felt a little embarrassed: "Did I disturb you?"

Gu Luoqi was squatting on the ground peeling potatoes. Hearing Cheng Cheng's words, she looked up slightly, feeling like crying but having no tears left. Indeed, history always repeats itself.

She's enduring this humiliation for the sake of their lunch, okay?

Could you please show her some respect?

She was preoccupied and didn't pay much attention to her hand movements, and before she knew it, tragedy struck.

Feeling the pain in her hand, she couldn't help but scream.

She frowned, staring at her hand holding the potato; the spot where she had cut herself was now bleeding slightly.

Frustrated and unlucky.

Qi Sheng was drawn by her scream and subconsciously glanced at her hand. The wound had already started to bleed. He looked at the person who was holding her hand and frowning, and said with a slight smile, "Stupid." She could hurt her hand over such a small thing. To be frank, she wasn't very bright.

Gu Luoqi glared at him angrily, but if you looked closely, you might still notice a hint of grievance in her eyes: "Are you kidding me? This is a work injury!"

"Stupid, he's stupid, his whole family is stupid," she thought to herself.

"I don't seem to have asked you to do it." Qi Sheng's expression was indifferent with a hint of laziness.

"Host, bandaging the wound is more important," the system couldn't help but remind her when it saw her covered in blood.

Brother, let's stop arguing now. Can we go and treat the wound?

Alas, it feels that its system bears too much responsibility that it shouldn't have to bear, and the road ahead is long and arduous.

"Hmm." Gu Luoqi suppressed the flicker of anger within her.

Forget it, I won't argue with an idiot.

Gu Luoqi put the things on the ground and said, "Do it yourself."

I'm quitting! This is too much!

The scene was initially a bit stiff, but the onlookers couldn't help but laugh, which immediately drew Gu Luoxi's attention back to the scene.

She stood up aggressively, turned around and looked at the culprit leaning against the door: "What the hell are you laughing at!" She glared fiercely at Cheng Cheng.

This guy just loves to stir up trouble.

Would she have been injured if she hadn't suddenly spoken up and startled her?

And Qi Sheng even called her stupid.

Cheng Cheng touched her nose awkwardly. Seeing Gu Luoqi walking angrily towards her, she quickly took a few steps back, wondering if this person would rush over and hit her.

However, it is clear that Gu Luoqi is not such a violent person.

Cheng Cheng looked at Gu Luoqi's hand, which was now bleeding profusely: "Are you alright?" You know, this guy usually cries for ages over the slightest scrape, but today he didn't utter a sound.

Love truly makes people stronger.

Gu Luoxi quickened her pace: "What do you think?" Is this person blind?

She thought for a moment and decided to find the first-aid kit to get a band-aid.

Cheng Cheng caught up with her.

While Gu Luoqi was looking for a band-aid, she plopped down on the sofa, her eyes lowered, and said seemingly unintentionally, "You've seemed strange these past few days."

Gu Luoqi gave her a sense of unease, though she didn't know where this strangeness came from.

Gu Luoxi silently cleaned her wound. The wound wasn't deep; only a small piece of skin had been scraped off. She remained silent for a moment before speaking, her expression casual: "Is there?"

It's strange that someone died inexplicably.

She muttered to herself.

"If you have any difficulties, be sure to speak up. Don't keep them bottled up inside." Cheng Cheng's calm tone brought a touch of warmth to Gu Luoxi.

She met Cheng Cheng's earnest gaze: "Really, no, you're overthinking it." A faint smile graced her face, giving her a gentle and refined air.

"Host, my existence must not be known to anyone, otherwise the emergency procedure will be triggered passively." The system warning came to her ears.

Gu Luoqi showed some interest in the emergency procedure it mentioned: "What is that?"

"Due to the program settings, once the emergency procedure is triggered, special means will be used to erase the memories of all those who know the truth, and I will return to the place where I started." The system's voice was still a mechanical tone without any inflection, but Gu Luoqi could detect a hint of seriousness in it.

Her eyes darkened. If the system returned to its starting point, wouldn't that mean she would also return to her original path?

To save her life, she wouldn't let anyone know about this.

Moreover, how could she possibly speak about all this? If she did, she'd probably be considered crazy.

Cheng Cheng glanced at her calmly and said, "I just hope you won't forget that I'm here..." Her voice was soft, but every word reached Gu Luoqi's ears.

Gu Luoqi felt a warmth in her heart: "Okay, I won't forget you. I'm too busy troubling you." After treating her wound, she walked over and sat down next to Cheng Cheng.

She began pitifully, "I remember you have a younger brother..."

Cheng Cheng became more alert, and took a few steps to the side with a wary look on her face: "What are you going to do?" Could it be that she thinks there is no hope for her and Qi Sheng and wants to find another target?

Could she take back what she just said? Don't bother her.

"Can you please not get so agitated?" Gu Luoxi's tone was helpless; she didn't even know what was making this person so agitated.

"My brother is only fourteen." Cheng Cheng's tone became more serious. Although they were good friends, it didn't mean she could harm her underage brother and try to take advantage of their relationship.
