"Yes, she's been working really hard," Cheng Cheng said with a smile. She didn't realize how much shock her words would cause them.
Yes, that's right, it was fright.
"Then I'll have to go check it out." Mr. Gu's face showed a hint of doubt, but he was eager to see what his daughter was up to this time.
As he spoke, he picked up the groceries placed by the door and headed towards the kitchen. Aunt Qi, her eyes filled with helplessness, smiled kindly at Cheng Cheng and followed him.
To be honest, she was surprised by Gu Luoqi's unusual behavior today.
Of course, this wasn't just because she cooked on a whim, but also because she took the initiative to greet her.
Over the years, their relationship has changed from being as strained as it was at the beginning, but it's certainly not good either; more often than not, Gu Luoqi ignores her.
To be honest, she's actually been quite wronged all these years.
Of course, I'm used to it now.
Cheng Cheng sighed softly as she looked at the kind Aunt Qi. In her eyes, Gu Luoqi, her stepmother, was actually quite nice.
However, as a friend, she had no right to make Gu Luoxi accept it.
Thinking about the changes in her over this period, she hoped that their family relationship would improve.
As soon as Mr. Gu entered the kitchen, he saw Gu Luoxi in a flustered state. His eyes widened, and he could hardly believe what he was seeing. "Am I hallucinating because I'm getting old?" he muttered to himself.
No, this is definitely not his daughter! Someone, come quick and tell him this isn't his daughter!
“Obviously, that’s not the case.” Aunt Qi said with a faint smile.
"How did you get in here?" Gu Luoqi looked at the group of people who were staring at her like she was a monkey.
"Luo Xi, if anything happens, you must tell me. Don't keep it to yourself." Gu's father said with a loving expression, his eyes filled with concern for Gu Luo Xi.
"Dad, I'm fine. You can go out now. I'm a little busy." Gu Luoqi said, feeling embarrassed.
Is this really necessary?
Seriously.
Mr. Gu returned to the living room, feeling dizzy, and slowly sat down. Then, he shakily took Aunt Qi's hand and said, "The child has grown up..." Tears of relief welled up in his eyes.
Cheng Cheng: Uncle, aren't you going a bit too far with this act?
Aunt Qi gave Cheng Cheng an awkward smile, then calmly let go of Gu's father's hand, clearly unfazed by the current situation.
After all, they've lived together for over ten years; these are all minor matters.
"Pretentious." She parted her red lips slightly, her face calm.
Mr. Gu looked resentful. "Fine, my wife doesn't love me anymore."
Cheng Cheng was force-fed a mouthful of dog food here, and it was the kind of dog food that was forced on her head.
So she quietly left, refusing to accept any more PDA.
Gu Luoqi, who was in the kitchen, naturally had no idea that her friend had suffered extreme hardship.
She's in high spirits now because her grand plan is about to be completed!
A few minutes later, she finished the last step and smiled with satisfaction as she looked at the steaming hot food.
"System, I'm done." She had a faint smile on her face.
"Then let your companions have a taste," the system said.
Although the host was unfamiliar with the process, he managed to complete it despite some stumbling and difficulty.
"Okay." After saying that, she went out to call them for dinner.
As she passed through the living room, she saw her own father holding Aunt Qi's hand and grinning foolishly.
She was completely bewildered after being unexpectedly fed a mouthful of dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection).
How could he be so lewd? Is this really her father?
Cheng Cheng: Now you know how much I've suffered.
Gu Luoqi was just about to sneak away to avoid disturbing them and making herself feel awkward.
She was discovered just as she moved a few steps to the side.
The two men stared at her blankly, and Aunt Qi's face flushed slightly.
Gu Luoqi: Why is my father looking at me like that? Did she break the law?
"Um...did I disturb you?" A hint of embarrassment flashed across her face.
She swears she absolutely didn't do it on purpose.
"Don't panic, host. As long as you're not embarrassed, then it's others who will be embarrassed," the system said gloatingly.
"Hehe, but I'm in a very awkward situation right now." Gu Luoqi looked at her father's unwilling expression.
That was clearly saying, "You clueless idiot, you know the answer but you still ask."
Of course, out of a father's love for his daughter, even if he was unwilling, he could only put on a 'gentle' smile and say, "No, have you finished cooking?" The implication was that if she had something to do, she should get out of there and not stand there in the way.
Despite her father's obvious 'concern', Gu Luoqi said, "It's done, you can have some more." After all, she always felt that something was missing if no one saw her efforts.
Moreover, she needs judges right now. She just sounded out the system, and it said that the more judges she has, the greater the probability of getting a lot of points.
I have to say, this offer is incredibly tempting.
So even if they had already eaten, she would still urge them to eat some more.
Mr. Gu's eyes darted around. It wasn't that he lacked confidence in his daughter, but... to be honest, he was a little scared. Aunt Qi nudged him with her elbow, a gentle smile on her face: "I'm a little hungry, that's perfect."
How can you refuse a child's kind offer?
"Alright, then I'll go try the food my good daughter made." Mr. Gu had no choice but to agree, since he figured he was going to get stabbed anyway, so what was there to be afraid of?
Seeing that she had achieved her goal, Gu Luoqi's smile became even sweeter: "Alright, I'll go call Cheng Cheng and the others now."
Aunt Qi thought of her relationship with Qi Sheng and said, "I'll go with you."
They probably don't want to talk to each other either, so let her go.
