Chapter 5 Seeing Su Yan Again

"If you're angry, I can apologize to you." Su Yan's eyes narrowed slightly, seemingly casual but actually serious.

Gu Luoqi seemed to have discovered something particularly interesting. She turned around and put the water on the coffee table: "Then please tell me, why do you think you should apologize to me?" A faint smile even appeared on her lips.

Su Yan thought for a moment before speaking: "Because you're angry."

Furthermore, because this is how we've always interacted since we were little, he went from being annoyed at first to getting used to it now.

Of course, he didn't say that.

"Then what did you do wrong?" Gu Luoqi seemed to be laughing in exasperation.

Su Yan remained silent, because he didn't seem to have anything to apologize for.

"You don't need to apologize to me for these inexplicable things anymore. I don't need it now, thank you." Gu Luoqi breathed a sigh of relief after saying all this in one breath.

This is what she both adores and hates most about Su Yan, because his pampering makes her gradually lose sight of reality.

He gave her a false opportunity, allowing her to become so engrossed in the fantasy that she was unwilling to wake up.

Su Yan glanced at her, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes: "You're acting a little strange today."

"No, I'm perfectly normal." Even though Su Yan asked casually, she answered with unusual seriousness.

"Since you don't need my apology, then don't be angry," Su Yan paused slightly before continuing.

"I'm not angry," Gu Luoqi said with a faint smile.

She was stunned by this, and she didn't even know that she could still smile at Su Yan at this moment.

Su Yan smiled faintly, a seductive curve appearing at the corner of his eyes: "Alright, you're not angry."

Gu Luoqi could even detect a hint of doting affection in his eyes.

This caused the scene to fall silent again, creating an unusually awkward atmosphere.

Fortunately, the doorbell rang at that moment. She hurriedly went to open the door, appearing calm and collected on the surface, but only she knew that she was actually fleeing in panic.

She opened the door and saw it was takeout. She took the food and said, "Thank you."

She was originally a little hungry, but Su Yan's presence completely killed her appetite.

"You haven't eaten yet?" Su Yan stared at the takeout in her hand.

"Hmm." Gu Luoxi looked up. Was it surprising that she hadn't eaten?

Out of politeness, she picked up the things in her hand and asked casually, "Would you like some?"

Su Yan, however, saw through her meaning: "Since you've extended such a warm invitation, I certainly won't refuse."

"Oh, there's none for you." Gu Luoqi didn't even look up, opened the bag, took out her own portion, and intended to give it to Qi Sheng.

"Then why are you asking me?" Su Yan was taken aback, as if he hadn't expected Gu Luoxi to say that.

"I was just being polite, I didn't expect you to take it seriously." Gu Luoqi's expression remained unchanged.

"Uh..." Su Yan felt like she was being deliberately difficult to deal with all day.

He could tell at a glance that the food was far beyond her appetite: "Can you really eat this much?"

"Qi Sheng isn't eating?" Gu Luoqi asked back.

Upon hearing this, Su Yan's brows furrowed slightly, and he looked at Gu Luoxi with an even stranger gaze, as if he didn't recognize her at all.

Didn't she always dislike her younger brother Qi Sheng? And the degree of dislike made him feel that she was being unreasonable.

"You're acting really strange today." He seemed to be muttering to himself, but also seemed to be talking to Gu Luoqi.

“I think this is fine,” Gu Luoqi said calmly.

Su Yan couldn't understand what she meant; he felt that her words were incoherent.

He stared blankly as she went upstairs, only snapping out of his daze when she disappeared from his sight.

"Is this really a good thing?" he murmured to himself.

After placing her share in the room, Gu Luoqi came to Qi Sheng's room door again.

She reached out and knocked on the door, pondering how to get rid of that annoying guy downstairs.

Unexpectedly, Qi Sheng opened the door quickly this time. He opened the door and looked at the annoying guy in front of him without saying a word until he noticed that the man's eyebrows were furrowed and he was full of dejection, as if he was thinking about something troubling.

Seeing Qi Sheng open the door, Gu Luoqi slowly came back to her senses. The previous dejection vanished from her face, replaced by a faint smile as she looked at the handsome young man who was a head taller than her: "This is for you." She handed the takeout in her hand to Qi Sheng.

Qi Sheng looked at the guy in front of her whose expression had changed in an instant and said coldly, "I said I don't need it." Then she was about to close the door.

Gu Luoqi tilted her head slightly, ignoring Qi Sheng's indifference: "I don't need you to give me money, why are you doing this?" After saying that, she put the things into Qi Sheng's arms, turned around and left, giving him no room to back out.

Qi Sheng gave her a deep look. Gu Luoxi, what are you up to?

But in the end, he carried his things back to his room.

After sending the things away, Gu Luoqi felt a little happier. She returned to her room to prepare a meal.

"The 'Eat Rice' mission is entering its final countdown. Ten minutes left. Please take this seriously, host." The system notification sounded again.

"Okay, I understand," she said as she opened the box.

When you put the first bite of food in your mouth, it always feels like it tastes a few times better than before.

Could it be because she hasn't eaten in a long time?

The system sensed her thoughts: "Host, the binding system will automatically enhance your taste buds, allowing you to experience double the happiness when completing the rice-eating task."

Gu Luoqi: ? ? ?

Doesn't that mean she's involuntarily become a super foodie?

That won't do. What if she can't control her size and starts to grow horizontally?

"Don't worry, host. It won't happen. When you consume your normal intake, I will forcibly shut down your sense of taste."

"Eating like chewing wax?" A Chinese idiom suddenly popped into Gu Luoqi's mind.

"That's right. Of course, if the host has other needs, they can set them themselves, such as the smell of human excrement," the system said in a rather humane way.

"Then... never mind." She wasn't curious about what poop tasted like at all; eating it like chewing wax was fine too.

After she finished eating, the system's countdown ended, and when she took the trash out, she realized that Su Yan had left sometime earlier.

She breathed a sigh of relief. She should stay away from Su Yan from now on, lest he be bewitched again someday.

If she can't afford to offend her, can't she at least avoid her?

"The first cooking task has been completed. The host has half an hour to rest. After the rest time, you will be forced to enter the learning state."

Gu Luoqi was slightly surprised: "Will all the missions from now on be of this intensity?" Wouldn't that mean she would be either studying and eating or on her way to studying and eating every day?

"The intensity of the task depends on the host's self-learning ability. If the host achieves academic excellence, the system will relax its control." The system answered her question with 'dedication to its job'.
