Chapter 54 The Return of Communication

So Gu Luoqi didn't rush to pack her things. She first called her father to tell him that she wasn't going back.

However, hearing her father's smug voice made her feel even more suffocated.

"System, I suspect I'm not my father's biological child." Gu Luoqi put down her phone, a hint of anger in her eyes.

"I don't know about that," the system replied calmly.

It's just an ordinary system; how could it understand their complex emotions?

"Do you think Qi Sheng will go back?" Gu Luoqi suddenly remembered that she had a younger brother.

"Why don't you just ask?" the system replied in its unchanged tone.

Gu Luoqi opened a well-known social media app and found that their chat only contained the fact that she had transferred the money for the meal last time to him, and nothing else.

She immediately sent him a message, thinking he definitely wouldn't reply.

He's a top student, so it's normal that he doesn't look at his phone often.

To her surprise, he replied instantly.

The content remains as concise as before – “Return”.

What are you going back for?

"Something's up."

"Oh, okay, I won't be going back this week." Gu Luoqi didn't press the matter further.

Seeing Qi Sheng's instant reply of "Mm," she impulsively replied, "If you're bored at home alone, I can reluctantly come back."

By the time she realized something was off about what he said, Qi Sheng had already replied with "There's no need for that."

Her heart skipped a beat; this was so embarrassing…

She wouldn't think she's an old rogue, would she?

In a classroom, a well-groomed young man stared at the chat box, frowning slightly, before silently putting down his phone.

Gu Luoqi... is sick.

Gu Luoqi blushed as she was mistaken for a lunatic. "System..." she said awkwardly.

"Host, you're too greasy..." Even the system couldn't stand her like this.

"Um...can I say that wasn't my original intention?" Gu Luoqi asked tentatively.

She wasn't actually serious; she just couldn't help being sarcastic.

"You'd better be serious for once. You'll be exchanging learning experiences with others later," the system seemed to remember something and gave her a gentle reminder.

Gu Luoxi was already depressed enough, and her heart sank even further after hearing the system's words.

"What did you say?" Her voice trembled slightly.

No way, please don't scare her.

"The host needs to exchange and learn from Qi Sheng's experience." The system patiently repeated, completely disregarding the shock its words might cause her.

"Didn't we already communicate before? What else do we need to communicate?" Gu Luoqi asked, looking reluctant.

"The system has determined that Qi Sheng himself is of the greatest help to the host, so he has been selected as your communication partner by default," the system patiently explained.

"Can't we change the person?" Gu Luoqi keenly noticed the language flaw in the system.

Since it's the default selection, it can definitely be changed.

"It's not that it's impossible, but I'm afraid you'd be even more unwilling?" The system had already seen through her little trick.

Gu Luoqi was not giving up. "Who?" Is there anyone in the world more difficult to serve than Qi Sheng?

"Su Yan, that is, your old flame, is also possible if you don't mind," the system said, surprising everyone.

Gu Luoqi felt a chill run down her spine and shook her head vigorously, "Then forget it." She'd rather be killed than have her exchange experiences with Su Yan.

"Actually... Su Yan might be a better candidate." The system's big data calculations took a long time to arrive at this conclusion.

"Compared to Qi Sheng, Su Yan will obviously have a greater motivating effect on you," the system explained.

After all, shame breeds courage. It sees that the host has this potential, and if the host can overcome this psychological barrier, it will be like adding wings to a tiger.

Unfortunately, it was still too confident in Gu Luoqi. "Forget it, system, please let me go. I want to live a little longer." Her past painful lessons told her that Su Yan was a menace.

The system didn't react to Gu Luoqi's 'lack of ambition,' as its original purpose was to make her less resistant to exchanging learning experiences with Qi Sheng.

Now that its goal has been achieved, it has no intention of pushing its luck further.

In short, everything I just said was a lie to fool her…

Host, isn't it just a matter of coaxing and deceiving?

Fortunately, Gu Luoxi didn't know, otherwise the system would have been in for days of trouble.

Gu Luoqi finished her afternoon classes with a heavy heart, and also saw Cheng Cheng off as she was about to go home.

"Are you unhappy?" Li Mingya couldn't help but ask, seeing the person next to her looking so preoccupied.

"Ah, no." Gu Luoqi came back to her senses.

"Huh?" Li Mingya clearly didn't believe it.

"Maybe it's because it's only the beginning of the semester, so she hasn't adjusted yet," Gu Luoqi casually offered an excuse.

"Oh, I see." Li Mingya didn't call her out on it.

"Is there anything you'd like to eat?" she asked with a smile.

They had just seen Little Orange off as she was going home and were about to go eat.

Gu Luoqi's eyes lit up upon hearing this; it was the happiest moment of her day again.

“Let’s go to the one at the very end of this street, let me tell you, it’s so delicious…” She talked on and on, as if she had forgotten all her troubles.

Li Mingya simply listened to her with a smile, occasionally offering a word of agreement.

"But the food at that restaurant across the street is also pretty good. Which one should we go to?" Gu Luoqi said a lot, but she was having trouble making a choice. She could only look at Li Mingya and hope that she would choose one.

"You decide, I'm fine with whatever you say." Li Mingya frowned slightly. She didn't know either, and she wasn't an expert on food. Judging from her description, she probably knew more about it than Li Mingya did.

"System, choose one." Gu Luoqi entrusted this important task to the system.

After all, the system is professional.

The system thought to itself that it was a good thing it didn't have a brain, otherwise it would have been a real headache, not only having to urge her to study hard, but also having to solve such trivial matters.

"Let's go with the first one." It was quite casual.

"Why?" Gu Luoqi asked.

"Because I find it pleasing to the eye." Even a normally mild-mannered artificial intelligence was driven crazy by Gu Luoqi.

"Okay, okay." Gu Luoqi immediately backed down.

Okay, let's make it the first one then. The system always has a good eye.

She comforted herself with this thought.

She excitedly led Li Mingya to their doorstep. Looking at the familiar sign, she said in a deep voice, "It's been so long since I've been here. I almost forgot what this place looks like."

"Hmm?" Li Mingya couldn't quite understand Gu Luoqi's mature tone.

If she remembered correctly, they only had a month's vacation.

"Oh, I meant it's been so long since I've had it, I've almost forgotten what it tastes like," Gu Luoqi quickly laughed it off.

After saying that, she went inside first. Li Mingya looked at Gu Luoxi's back, his eyes filled with a struggle.

However, I still followed her inside.
