The change in Xiao Chengzi's attitude towards her filled her with confidence.
"I'll prepare some more fruit tea." She smiled, her eyes crinkling with excitement, a stark contrast to her previous demeanor.
"Okay, okay." Little Orange, who was still dicing mangoes, nodded repeatedly.
Soon, the kitchen table was piled high with delicate little desserts.
And there's a whole bunch more in the oven.
"I doubt we can finish it all," Little Orange exclaimed, speechless. She knew a lot, but she hadn't expected there to be so much.
“This can be stored for a while.” Gu Luoqi pointed to various cookies, as well as egg yolk pastries and pineapple cakes.
"You have a sealing machine at home, right? Sealing it can preserve it for a longer period of time," Xiao Chengzi said with a smile.
"It seems so, I'll go ask Aunt Qi." Gu Luoqi wasn't very familiar with her own kitchen either.
She ran out excitedly and saw Aunt Qi tidying up in the living room and her father lying on the sofa watching TV.
"Um... Aunt Qi... do we have a sealing machine at home?" She felt a little awkward about it.
"Yes, I'll look for it for you." Aunt Qi put down what she was holding.
"If you're busy, go ahead and do your work," Gu Luoqi said quickly.
"No rush, I've already finished tidying up." Aunt Qi smiled gently.
"Are you done fiddling around?" Mr. Gu sat up straighter when he heard their interaction.
"Yes, most of it is done." Gu Luoqi nodded slightly.
To show his support for his daughter, Mr. Gu said, "Then I'll have to go and see."
They returned to the kitchen, where the entire room was filled with a sweet, cloying smell.
"Are you sure you made these?" Mr. Gu stared wide-eyed at the delicate little cakes on the table in front of him.
"Of course." Gu Luoqi was very dissatisfied with her father's suspicion.
"It looks good, I wonder how it tastes," said Mr. Gu with a smile.
"Aunt Qi, would you like to try some?" Gu Luoqi looked at her, her eyes unconsciously filled with anticipation.
"Won't you let your dad have a taste?" Mr. Gu was very dissatisfied with his daughter's 'mistreatment'.
Gu Luoqi rolled her eyes, looking at the pineapple cake he was putting into his mouth. "Do I need to call you?"
Mr. Gu coughed slightly to cover up his embarrassment.
His precious daughter never gives him any face.
snort.
"It's delicious, it tastes even better than the cakes from outside bakeries." Aunt Qi tried a salted egg yolk pastry.
Hearing her say that, Gu Luoxi felt relieved.
Now that the authoritative figures have spoken, Qi Sheng shouldn't cause her any trouble, right?
He didn't like the food she made last time.
Yes, she is still holding a grudge about what happened before.
"I'll go find you a sealing machine and bags," Aunt Qi said after finishing what she was eating.
"Okay, thank you, Aunt Qi." Gu Luoqi smiled gently.
After Mr. Gu and Aunt Qi left, Xiao Chengzi started to get a little unruly. "I'm going to take these home later, you don't mind, do you?" she said, pointing to the things in front of her.
"No objection, how could I dare to have an objection?" Gu Luoqi looked 'weak' and pitiful, as if she was being oppressed by Xiao Chengzi.
"By the way, why don't you let your cheap little brother have a taste?" Little Orange leaned closer to her with a lewd grin.
“Of course I’ll give it to you,” Gu Luoqi said righteously.
After they sealed everything up, Gu Luoqi took out a delicate little bag and helped Xiao Chengzi pack all her things, then stuffed it into Xiao Chengzi's arms, saying, "Here you go, go now, go home early."
The more humble they were when they were begging, the more arrogant they are now when they're kicking people out.
"Good heavens, you're really using me and then discarding me!" Little Orange was terrified by her shamelessness.
"Hurry up and go. Take these back for your uncle and aunt to try. Oh, and your little brother too." Gu Luoqi insisted that Little Orange's little brother was her little brother.
"Fine, fine, I'll go back now and won't get in your way," Little Orange said angrily.
Gu Luoqi completely ignored her anger, took her directly to her doorstep, and opened the door for her, saying, "See you tomorrow."
Before Xiao Chengzi could say anything, she closed the door, her indifference chilling.
Little Orange: "..." Is he afraid she'll eat their family's rice?
However, considering the little dessert in her hand, she decided not to argue with her.
After seeing Xiao Chengzi off, Gu Luoqi pondered how she could approach Qi Sheng to exchange learning experiences.
Sigh, this is truly a difficult problem in life.
She decided to follow the advice the system gave her.
Go deliver some food first, to try and get on their good side.
After thinking it over, she picked out a few delicate-looking desserts, put them on a plate, and set off.
Looking at Qi Sheng's tightly closed door, she wondered what he did all day while locked inside. "System, what do you think he does all day without coming out?"
"Then they must be studying hard." The system replied without hesitation.
In its eyes, Qi Sheng was a model student.
"Forget it, it's pointless to ask you." Gu Luoqi was busy, so she knocked on the door with her elbow, which looked quite difficult.
Qi Sheng took a long time to open the door, and when he did, he saw her struggling so much. "What's wrong?"
"I brought you some food." Gu Luoqi gestured to him with her eyes.
But in her heart, she silently complained about how clueless this guy was, not even reaching out to take anything from her when he saw her carrying so many things.
"Thank you." He then took the items.
Gu Luoqi was a little stunned. She had thought she would have to say more, but it was so easy.
"I made this myself, so you have to finish it," she added, adding another unnecessary remark.
"Host, aren't you afraid they'll give it back to you?" the system asked maliciously.
What if they don't like it...
"Shut up," Gu Luoqi said fiercely.
Qi Sheng's eyes flickered slightly, seemingly surprised. "Yes, thank you."
He showed absolutely no inclination to return it to Gu Luoqi, as the system had stated.
"You're welcome." Gu Luoqi's eyebrows curved into a smile, her eyes sparkling, and she seemed to be in a very good mood.
Her eyes darted around and landed on the easel in his room.
She was too far away to see what he was painting, but the colors seemed a bit dark.
"You can draw?" She remembered that he didn't seem to have studied drawing.
When she was little, her father sent her to art classes, intending for him to go with her, but she absolutely refused.
As for why he didn't go, it seems to be related to her, but her memory is too vague, and she has forgotten.
"I know a little." Qi Sheng's voice was indifferent, revealing no emotion.
Only now did Gu Luoqi realize that he wasn't indifferent, but rather that he didn't show any emotional change, nothing more.
"Then you go ahead and do your work." With that, she walked away.
"Host, let's exchange learning experiences!" The system felt as if she had forgotten about this.
"What's the rush? There's still time." Gu Luoqi said calmly, showing no sign of being in a hurry.
"What a load of bull! There's only one day left." The system said with a hint of exasperation.
This guy is usually very patient with other things, but when it comes to Qi Sheng, he gets incredibly anxious.
