Qi Sheng was unaware of the conversation between the system and Gu Luoxi. He followed closely behind her without saying a word.
Seeing that Gu Luoxi was in a daze, they also served her a bowl of rice.
Gu Luoqi's expression softened slightly. See? It's so nice to have a younger brother.
I don't know why she was so resistant to it before.
For the next few hours, she found Qi Sheng to be unusually obedient.
"Do you think it's because you're sick?" She couldn't find any other reason.
"Maybe." The system wasn't sure either.
However, being sick might indeed make a person appear much more docile, but that's only an appearance.
This continued until they took the bus to school.
Gu Luoqi remembered that this guy seemed to get carsick, so she let him sit by the window.
After all, he's a delicate younger brother, so he needs to be pampered.
She looked at the boy's somewhat pale face and gently furrowed her delicate brows.
How can someone who's asleep still get carsick? That's terrifying.
After finally arriving at the school, Gu Luoxi quickly got out of the car.
She doesn't get carsick, but the car was too stuffy.
Looking at the somewhat thin boy, she asked softly, "Would you like me to take you home?"
Qi Sheng glanced at her somewhat bulky luggage, his eyes slightly raised, "Never mind."
"Don't worry about me, I'm free." Gu Luoqi had what she thought was a gentle smile on her face.
She was completely swayed by his "understanding" act; even if it meant taking a longer route, she was determined to get Qi Sheng back today.
"Gu Luoqi, I heard you were sick. Are you alright?" A somewhat familiar voice rang out.
Gu Luoxi couldn't remember who it was for a moment.
When she saw the man, her face darkened.
Well, someone ruined her plans.
She remembered that this was a female classmate named Fang Zhi, who was usually the most gossipy, and all sorts of strange news in the class usually came from her mouth.
Therefore, Gu Luoqi didn't have a good impression of her, but they didn't usually interact much.
She couldn't possibly ignore someone greeting her. "I'm much better, so I came back," she said with a faint smile.
"Oh, is this so? And who is this?" Her eyes were filled with undisguised amazement. In fact, her gaze had been fixed on Qi Sheng from the very beginning, without even blinking.
“Uh… friend.” Gu Luoqi pondered for a moment.
She felt that Qi Sheng might not like others knowing about their relationship.
Qi Sheng's eyes flickered a few times, carrying a complex emotion that others couldn't understand. "I'm leaving now," she said, her tone carrying just the right amount of distance.
"Okay, sure." Gu Luoqi could not see him off right now, so she could only watch him leave.
Fang Zhi watched Qi Sheng's retreating figure with a hint of regret in her eyes. This boy was so handsome; she hadn't even had a chance to say hello.
But are there any people this good-looking in their grade? How come she never noticed before? With her connections, that shouldn't be the case.
"Are they really friends?" She looked at Gu Luoxi with a questioning gaze.
Gu Luoqi's expression remained unchanged; moreover, she was a master at lying through her teeth. "Hmm," she said, looking up at her with a serious expression.
Seeing this, Fang Zhi felt that she wasn't lying, and started to wonder to herself, "Which class is he in?"
"I'm not quite sure either," Gu Luoqi said without thinking.
"He's your friend, how could you not know?" Fang Zhi was somewhat skeptical of what she was saying.
"Actually, we just met, we're not very familiar with each other." Gu Luoqi tried her best to make her voice sound more convincing.
"Do you have any contact information?" Fang Zhi asked, still unwilling to give up.
"No." Gu Luoqi directly silenced her with a kiss.
"Alright." Fang Zhi didn't believe her, but there was nothing she could do.
Besides, the person has already left.
The two walked together to their building before parting ways. During the walk, Fang Zhi kept testing her, but unfortunately she failed and returned disappointed.
After getting rid of her, Gu Luoxi felt a little more relaxed. "I'm exhausted." She had never liked this kind of roundabout way of communicating; it was too tiring.
"Just tell her directly." The system didn't understand these intricacies.
Gu Luoqi's lips twitched. "Are you serious?"
She was certain that if she told Fang Zhi everything today, by tomorrow morning at the latest everyone would know that Fang Zhi had a particularly handsome "boyfriend." After so many years of being classmates, how could she not know her?
In her distant memory, there seemed to be such an unlucky guy. It seemed that he didn't agree to Fang Zhi's crazy pursuit back then, and in the end, he couldn't stand the pressure of public opinion and was forced to transfer schools. I heard that his grades plummeted.
But no one would be happy to be given a girlfriend so haphazardly.
So she decided not to cause Qi Sheng any trouble.
"Qi Sheng, you'd better thank me properly," she thought to herself.
However, she still thought about whether there were any loopholes in her answer, in case Fang Zhi used it as an excuse to criticize her.
With that thought in mind, she arrived at the door of their dormitory. At this time, Xiao Chengzi and Li Mingya should be in the dormitory, so she didn't take out her key and just knocked on the door.
"Coming, coming," Little Orange muttered from inside the door.
Without even thinking, she knew who it was—her unlucky best friend had returned. She opened the door, not even looking up, and said, "Welcome back, my good brother." Then she was about to give her a warm hug.
This "welcome gift" was already the highest level she could ask for.
Gu Luoqi dodged the overly enthusiastic hug, saying, "I have too much stuff, wait a moment."
Little Orange wasn't angry at her "ungrateful behavior" because she heard a key word.
She has a lot of stuff, so she must have brought a lot of delicious food.
"What delicious food did you bring?" Little Orange rubbed her hands together, ready to welcome the feast.
"Don't worry, I brought all your favorite foods." Gu Luoqi chuckled.
Sure enough, Xiao Chengzi's focus was the same as hers.
"Oh right, where's my other dear roommate?" She looked around for a long time but couldn't see Li Mingya. She had promised to give her a proper welcome.
“She’s taking a shower,” Little Orange replied.
"Okay." Gu Luoqi stopped worrying about it.
Although Xiao Chengzi is a glutton, it would seem too heartless of her to be indifferent to a sick person. "By the way, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, I'm perfectly healthy..." Gu Luoqi roughly explained her situation to her.
"Too much pressure? You can't be serious, can you?" Cheng Cheng asked, looking puzzled.
Gu Luoqi was slightly embarrassed. "I don't know what happened either."
"By the way, did Su Yan call to check on you? I even asked him to..." Cheng Cheng's eyes blazed with gossip.
Actually, she felt that Su Yan wasn't entirely uninterested in this guy.
"As expected of you!" Gu Luoqi said angrily.
She knew it! How could Su Yan suddenly remember someone like her?
