"When you were very young?" Gu Luoqi's voice softened.
“Hmm.” A hint of sarcasm flashed in Li Mingya’s eyes.
Back then, when her so-called mother ran off with her supposed lover, I wonder if she ever thought about her daughter.
"It's alright, Dad's here." Gu Luoqi said gently.
Although their mother was gone, they still had their father. Thinking of her father who had taken such good care of her, her eyes softened.
Although her father seemed a bit rough around the edges, had a carefree personality, and was a bit too casual with her, he didn't have any major problems.
However, upon reflection, Gu Luoqi suddenly realized that her description of her father as "meticulous" seemed overly hasty.
It seems like a miracle that I was able to grow up healthy.
Li Mingya's expression darkened further, and he replied faintly, "Mm."
Although she had followed her father all these years without making any mistakes, she was not as lucky as Gu Luoxi. Even though she was in her own home, she always felt like an outsider.
So ever since high school, she has tried to keep her presence to a minimum, and her father doesn't seem to care.
"Eat more, this mango is very sweet." Gu Luoqi sensed her low spirits and couldn't help but speak up.
Li Mingya remained silent for a long time, so long that Gu Luoxi thought she wouldn't speak again, before she finally spoke in a low voice, "Dad has a new family."
She also has a lovely son.
Every time she stood next to them, she felt superfluous.
"It's okay, everything will be alright. Take care of yourself." Gu Luoqi couldn't help but pat Li Mingya's head as she looked down.
No wonder Ya Ya is usually so sensible; I wonder how much she has suffered over the years.
"Who told you to keep talking so much? You hurt that girl's feelings." The system can now distinguish the most obvious emotions of people other than Gu Luoqi, like right now.
"I didn't mean to," Gu Luoqi said.
This guy loves to add fuel to the fire; he's incredibly annoying.
"This young lady is so pitiful, you have to be nice to her." This is the advice from the brainless system.
"I know, you don't need to tell me." Gu Luoqi was a little impatient with the system.
He adopted a gentler demeanor towards Li Mingya.
System: A fickle fellow.
"It's alright, I've gotten used to it over the years." Li Mingya smiled gently, her tenderness touching everyone's heart.
“But it shouldn’t be like this.” Gu Luoqi’s eyes narrowed, becoming inexplicably deep.
"What?" Li Mingya was a little confused about what she meant.
“You shouldn’t get used to it, you shouldn’t slowly learn to find joy in hardship, but you should be truly happy.” Gu Luoqi stared straight at her, her eyes bright, filled with stubbornness and seriousness.
Ya Ya is such a good person, she should be happy.
Li Mingya was slightly taken aback, suppressing the turmoil in her heart, "Thank you, I know." This time, her smile was not forced, but carried a resilience, a power that influenced people.
Looking at the people in front of her, Gu Luoxi knew that they were two extremes.
One is excessively willful, the other is excessively sensible.
But they will get better and better.
She knew.
"Let's go help Auntie in the kitchen, we don't have anything to do here anyway," Li Mingya said softly with a smile in her eyes.
“Alright.” Gu Luoqi didn’t stand on ceremony any further.
This is a good opportunity for Ya Ya to see her skills.
I've learned so many new dishes lately, but I've only ever shown them off to Xiao Chengzi. Now's the perfect opportunity.
