Chapter 3 Central Air Conditioning

Teahouse.

"Second Young Master Yan is so powerful that he frightened our brother Ding so much that he dared not speak out. He also frightened me from a distance."

As Yan Cheng walked in, he was greeted by a long drawn-out voice. The young man sitting on his left had a pair of fox eyes and a cunning smile.

This guy is at it again.

"Is my excitement good looking?"

Yan Cheng closed the door, sat down opposite the fox-eyed boy, and glared at him unhappily.

"You like to watch the fun so much. I should have asked you to go down and talk to them earlier. I think you can get along well with them."

"No, no, no! I can't talk to them."

Kang Jing waved his hand, tapping his forehead with his slightly fleshy fingers: "Do they have brains as smart as mine? I'm afraid they won't understand what I say."

“Poof~”

There were three people in the private room, and the other person was sitting next to Yan Cheng.

Hearing Kang Jing bragging, Feng Guang couldn't help laughing. Fortunately, he didn't drink the tea, otherwise he would have sprayed Kang Jing all over.

Yan Cheng looked disgusted: "Smart brain? You are not ashamed to say it at all."

Most people nowadays like to be modest. Even if they deeply believe in their abilities, they will not say it out loud. They will only modestly say that they are not good enough and that they still need to work harder.

Kang Jing: "Oh, you're not other people. Why should I be humble in front of you? If I'm humble to you, wouldn't it make me look fake?"

"Just like that guy in school."

Yan Cheng knew who this "that person" was referring to. From one day on, Kang Jing would always complain about someone to them.

At first he only mentioned it occasionally, but later he complained about it every now and then, which shows his resentment.

"He was clearly the best student in my class, always receiving praise from the teacher. But behind our backs, he would always tell us he couldn't compare to so-and-so, telling us not to praise him, saying he was far behind. He felt ashamed when he heard that."

"No one thought it was a big deal once or twice, but every time someone inadvertently praised him, he would repeat the same thing with a stern face. After a long time, few people in our class wanted to talk to him."

Feng Guang expressed his understanding. If he were in his shoes, he would not like talking to someone who always belittled him.

That level of self-deprecation is not so much humility as it is an acknowledgement that one is terrible and can never compare to others.

The feeling of depression that comes from escaping makes people feel uncomfortable.

"Forget it, I won't talk about him anymore. It makes me upset."

After Kang Jing finished venting his complaints for the day, he covered his mouth and yawned. The dark circles under his eyes told of his lack of sleep at night.

Yan Cheng looked at him a few more times and couldn't help asking, "Why does Brother Jing look even more sleep deprived than I do?"

"It's my father. He took in another concubine yesterday. Our house was bustling last night."

Yan Cheng and Feng Guang looked puzzled: "Is this the second concubine your father has taken in this month?"

"Yeah." Kang Jing had no intention of hiding anything for his philandering father, and complained, "My lecherous father is only one step away from taking in twelve concubines a year."

He got angry whenever Kang Jing was mentioned, and he slammed the table.

"My father took in a concubine just before the New Year, and not long after the New Year he took in several more. The house is packed to the brim. I can hear the noise in the backyard every day. It's so annoying."

"My mother is considering whether to arrange for some of the concubines in the backyard to live somewhere else."

The Kang Mansion is quite large, and its size is one of the largest in Yulin Prefecture. However, compared with some other families, his house seems very crowded.

Because his father had too many concubines.

The backyard is where the women live, and Kang Jing lives in the front yard. Compared with the backyard, the front yard is relatively less crowded, but not spacious either. His father has many concubines and many children.

Including him, his father now has a total of eight sons and five daughters, and there are several pregnant concubines in the backyard. Kang Jing dares to say that his family is the most lively in the entire Yulin Prefecture.

"My dad is already quite old, but he's busy during the day and still has the energy to go backyard every night. I really admire him," Kang Jing said. "As a son, I'm humbled by him."

Yan Cheng paused while sipping his tea. "Aren't you still unmarried? Are you giving in so quickly? What if you're even better than me?"

Kang Jing's father is the Tongpan of Yulin Prefecture. He is not actually that old, only in his forties this year, but he has many children. Kang Jing is his only legitimate son.

This Kang Tongpan was quite famous in Yulin Prefecture, not because of his political achievements, but because of his romantic scandals. Everyone said that he was a playboy, lustful man who was easily bored with the old and easily pleased with the new.

But at a banquet, he said that he loved every woman in the backyard, he was equally good to every woman, and they were all his favorites.

But no one believed his story. People just thought he said it to make his reputation sound better.

How is it possible for someone to love so many people at the same time?

After getting to know Kang Jing, Yan Cheng learned from him that what his father said was true.

His father really loves every woman in the backyard and loves them all equally. Everyone can feel his passionate emotions.

The feeling of "I love you the most in the world" made their love completely directed to him, and they all hoped to get the attention of Pan Kang Tong.

Every woman thought that Kang Tongpan loved her the most, and then the fighting in the backyard of Kang's house became more intense.

Of course, these house fights only happened in the backyard. The women didn't want Kang Tongzhi to be embarrassed by the affairs of the backyard, so when he was around, they all showed sisterly harmony. Kang Tongpan still thought that his backyard was very harmonious.

Every time Kang Jing complained to him about his father, Yan Cheng had to admit that some people were born to be central air conditioners.
