Chapter 37: Beautiful and Kind-hearted

The candle flames burned fiercely in the main hall illuminated by the fire. Yan Cheng yawned again, feeling sleepy and thinking about going to bed first.

Three seconds later, he felt that someone was not that important and he could see him/her again tomorrow.

Anyway, the person has been rescued now, so he doesn't feel sorry for the gift of condolence that Ding Tongzhi sent to him from afar.

I made up my mind to go back to my room and sleep. If I sleep late tonight, I can get up later tomorrow morning.

However, just as Yan Cheng was about to stand up, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He raised his eyebrows and sat down again.

"They are coming." Leng Yan said beside him.

After a while, two people came in.

Yan Cheng saw that the shorter one's eyes widened when he saw him, a smile appeared on his face, and he ran towards him excitedly with his arms open.

"Yan Cheng, I miss you so much!"

Tsk.

It's scary to be so enthusiastic all of a sudden.

When he was about to be stuck, Yan Cheng stood up and raised his hand to press Ding Shang's forehead, pushing him away mercilessly as if he was holding a small animal.

"Don't get so close. I don't like people getting too close to me."

Yan Cheng ignored Ding Shang's aggrieved expression, looked him up and down, and confirmed one thing.

"You've lost weight."

The already long face looks even longer, which is not very aesthetically pleasing.

Ding Shang's eyes warmed up when he heard this, as if he wanted to cry when he saw someone he knew. "For the past two months, I haven't been eating or sleeping well in Black Wind Village, so of course I've lost weight."

"You are still young. If you take good care of your body, you can recover."

When Yan Cheng said these comforting words seriously in the tone of an elder, he selectively ignored the fact that he was a few years younger than Ding Shang.

"This is for you. It's all letters from your father."

Yan Cheng handed Ding Shang a thick stack of letters, all of which were letters sent by Ding Tongzhi during this period, almost one every few days.

Every letter would begin with "Has my son been rescued?", and then he would start crying, expressing how uneasy he felt and how he couldn't eat.

Some of the letters were stained with tears, blurring the handwriting.

This shows the old father's deep love for his son.

As for why Ding Tongzhi wrote to Yan Cheng, it was probably because Yan Cheng was the one he was most familiar with among all the people in Lu Yang.

Ding Shang burst into tears when he saw the letter. He missed his father too. During the two months in Black Wind Village, he had always regretted not acting more cautiously at the beginning.

Yan Cheng had clearly advised him not to wander around and to stay in the government office, but he didn't listen to the advice and acted recklessly, and was eventually captured by bandits.

Ding Shang cried pitifully while holding the stack of letters. Yan Cheng patted his shoulder and comforted him, "Don't cry. It's out now, isn't it?"

"If you feel uncomfortable, you can go to the prison to 'take care' of the bandits. The bandits we've captured recently are all being held in the prison in Huixian. If you want to go, I can help you."

"Really?" Ding Shang asked in a low voice, "Will it be too much trouble for you?"

After enjoying the small dark room package for two months, his mind became much smarter.

Thinking of the mess in the past and looking at Yan Cheng who was thinking about him, Ding Shang's eyes became even redder.

Yan Cheng is such a kind and nice person, he doesn't care at all about the trouble I caused him in the past.

The dim light from the candle was not enough to illuminate the huge main hall, and the boy's bold and warm face seemed to be covered with a layer of black veil.

Yet so holy and beautiful.

After Yan Cheng first had someone deliver hot and delicious meals and then reminded him to remember to write back to his father, Ding Shang completely put a label on Yan Cheng.

She is beautiful and kind-hearted.

The best person in the world.

The kind-hearted Yan Cheng packed up Ding Shang and stuffed him into the motorcade to the capital the next day.

The motorcade was his own, the guards were his own, and the cars were filled with gifts for his relatives and friends in the capital.

Ding Shang is too thoughtful, so let’s send him to the capital as soon as possible.

Yan Cheng acted quickly and pulled out a convoy in the morning. Ding Shang had just finished lunch when he was led out of the gate by Lu Xia in a daze.

It was not until the coachman drove the carriage over and he was about to be stuffed into the carriage that Ding Shang realized what was happening. He grabbed Lu Xia's arm with a terrified expression.

"What do you mean? Are you going to sell me out?"

Lu Xia: "...Mr. Ding, do I look like a human trafficker?"

Although he is not as good-looking as Leng Yan, he can still be said to be handsome. How can he be related to the vicious human traffickers?

"So what do you mean?"

Ding Shang knew that Lu Xia was not going to sell him out, so he breathed a sigh of relief. His violently beating heart returned to normal, but he still didn't understand what was going on, so he pointed at the carriage and asked.

"Didn't the young master tell Master Ding?"

"say what?"

When Yan Cheng came out of the main gate, he saw Ding Shang and Lu Xia staring at each other. He asked from a distance, "What are you doing?"

He walked closer and looked at Ding Shang: "Why haven't you gotten on the carriage yet? I see they are all ready, except you."

"Why should I get on the carriage?" Ding Shang tilted his head, finally realizing that Yan Cheng was sending him away. "No, where are you taking me?"

"Go to the capital, didn't I tell you last night?"

Ding Shang suddenly remembered that Yan Cheng seemed to have said something to him before going to bed yesterday, but he was too tired to listen. He said nervously, "How about you say it again?"

Yan Cheng narrowed his eyes. It was not difficult to guess that Ding Shang did not listen to what he said yesterday, but when he saw the valuable things piled up in the temporary warehouse, he was not very angry.

I repeated in a gentle voice what I said last night.
