Yan Cheng looked over when he heard the voice, and saw a glimmer in the Prince of Chu's peach blossom eyes. That look couldn't be described as malicious, it could only be described as interest.
It was as if the Prince of Chu was not targeting him on purpose, but he was interested in everything that made him happy.
A rather carefree person.
Such people easily offend others.
If the Prince of Chu did not have the King of Chu standing behind him, a man who even the Emperor had to give some face to, he would probably publish a book in the underworld called "Hundreds of Ways People Die".
These thoughts went through Yan Cheng's mind while he was considering his words. Before he could think of how to answer, he felt a nervous gaze falling on him.
Turning his head slightly, he saw that the boy who looked very similar to him had that stiff expression on his face, as if he was about to smile but not smile.
Even with such a simple expression, he seemed to be able to feel the boy's nervousness.
"Will you blame me? If I had been abandoned, you would have lived the life of a prince in the palace instead of growing up in a minister's home outside the palace."
This is probably what the boy thought.
Hmm, so this is twin telepathy?
"Seventh brother, why aren't you saying anything? Do you really think God is unfair?"
I don’t know what was going on, but when the Prince of Chu raised this question, the Seventh Prince, the person involved, kept silent, and the others just followed suit as a background figure.
They all held their teacups and drank tea calmly, as if they didn't realize that the tea was of inferior quality.
"Indeed, growing up in a minister's home is nothing like growing up in the imperial palace." The Prince of Chu muttered to himself, "How can the teachers outside compare to the Imperial Tutor in the Upper Study?"
Yan Cheng listened quietly and thought to himself, let me see what else you can come up with.
"I heard that Eighth Brother passed the examination for a scholar when he was outside the palace. This shows how smart and talented he is. If he had grown up in the palace, I think he would be no worse than Seventh Brother."
Oh no, buddy, you are trying to sow discord between us.
"By the way, Eighth Brother, you don't know this, right? Seventh Brother is the smartest person in this palace. He never forgets anything he has seen or heard."
"My eighth brother and seventh brother share the same mother, and he passed the imperial examination at such a young age. He must also be a genius with a photographic memory, right?"
Have a photographic memory?
Or hyperthymesia?
Yan Cheng was lost in thought, automatically ignoring someone's tea talk, and looked at the Seventh Prince who had unknowingly drunk up the only two bottles of good tea.
Oh, it seems I am even more nervous and helpless.
"I'm no better than Brother Seven. I'm just an ordinary person with a little bit of cleverness."
Seeing the Prince of Chu gulp down the tea in one gulp, Yan Cheng looked at him with wide eyes, smiled gracefully, poured him another cup of tea, and asked him to savor it slowly. There was plenty of tea in the North Second Institute.
With his hands crossed, he sat there upright, allowing others to look at him with a natural expression.
"Although I grew up outside the palace, I've never complained about the injustice of fate. Over the years, the Yan family has treated me like their own son. I have everything my brothers and sisters have, and I've enjoyed it all. Why should I complain?"
The Ninth Prince curled his lips. He spoke nicely, but who knew what kind of life he lived in private? This guy must have said that to save face.
Can an adopted child live almost as well as a biological child in someone else's home?
"And if I hadn't grown up in the Yan family, how could I be who I am today? I believe that all this is arranged by God, so it was me who went outside the palace instead of Seventh Brother."
Who can say for sure that there is no such thing as destiny in this world?
Otherwise, how could he become Yan Cheng and then Qu Zhaoyun.
If we have to say who was ultimately wrong, it was definitely not him or the Seventh Prince, but the woman who abandoned her child.
"Don't say that again, Prince." Yan Cheng said coldly, "Otherwise I'll think you're trying to sow discord between me and my seventh brother, and want us to go against each other."
"If the Crown Prince of Chu can be accused of causing discord between the royal brothers, then I have nothing to say."
Qu Zhaoxing was stunned. The young man glanced at him indifferently, with layers of indifference in his eyes, like ice that could not be melted.
He lowered his head and his eyes were covered by the shadow of his eyelashes. Others thought that he was irritated by Yan Cheng's bluntness.
The Ninth Prince stood with his hands behind his back, and was about to mock Yan Cheng for thinking about his brother Yan Qiang as soon as he came back, saying that he was not a good person, when he heard a dull laugh rising from low to high.
The accumulated momentum was knocked away by the magnetic laughter, and he shook his body.
The voice was right next to my ear. When I looked over there, I saw Qu Zhaoxing's face smiling wildly and ostentatiously. His eyes seemed fiery, but in fact there was a fire burning in his eyes.
The young man's lips curled up high, the fire in his eyes grew more and more intense, and he stared at Yan Cheng closely, like a greedy wolf locking onto its prey.
This made the seven people, including Yan Cheng, wonder whether the mental state of the Prince of Chu was good.
Yan Cheng wondered if this man was sick. He just said a few words casually, but this man acted as if he wanted to eat him.
The Seventh Prince thought that this Prince of Chu was not only as arrogant and domineering as the rumors said, but also looked a bit like a madman. He should be driven away quickly.
The others thought that the Prince of Chu was ill again today.
"Very good, you are completely different from what I thought. I am very interested in you."
After the excitement just now, the voice of the Prince of Chu was steady and low. Yan Cheng couldn't help shaking his shoulders when he heard it, and almost knocked over one of the only two good teas on the table.
I thought to myself, why does this sound a bit like a domineering president’s declaration?
"I look forward to having more battles with you in the future. I will watch you grow until one day you can trample everyone under your feet."
After saying this, the Prince of Chu waved his sleeves and left without a trace, leaving behind a room full of confused princes and heirs.
