Chapter 13: Life is unpredictable



"Brother Cheng, I found out who killed my mother." Kang Jing grabbed Yan Cheng's hand, his eyes reddened. "It was Aunt Lin from the backyard. She ordered people to capture the mother of my mother's personal maid, Jinse, and threatened Jinse to poison my mother."

"After my mother died, Jinse was beaten to death immediately, and the poison was gone. If the person you lent me hadn't overheard this secret from Aunt Lin, I would never have been able to find my mother's murderer."

"Now that all the evidence has been destroyed, I can't make Aunt Lin confess her guilt and face punishment even if I want to. Moreover, my father has strictly forbidden me from contacting anyone in the backyard in order to protect her. I can't do anything to her at all. What should I do now, Brother Cheng?"

Confess your guilt and accept punishment?

This was the only method of revenge Brother Jing could think of.

Yan Cheng felt that Kang Jing was indeed a person with very correct values. If he encountered a situation where he knew the real murderer but had no evidence, and he had capable people under his command, he would probably cut the Gordian knot and send his enemy to hell.

A dark look flashed in Yan Cheng's eyes.

Kang Jing lowered his head and held Yan Cheng's wrists with both hands, with moist tears hanging on his eyelashes. Yan Cheng suppressed the churning emotions in his heart and grabbed Kang Jing's hand with his backhand.

"Brother Jing, let me ask you, what if you can't find evidence to make Aunt Lin confess her guilt and accept punishment? Will you just let her go?"
