Chapter 106 Gu Cheng's Conditions (1/2)

What does it mean to kill someone by destroying their spirit?

Naturally, the best course of action is to stab the opponent in their weakest spot, and then seize what they want right in front of them.

This is like killing someone by destroying their spirit.

I don't actually dislike Wang Tianfang that much.

I just don't like these self-important rich kids.

But his repeated provocations clearly showed that he saw me as a thorn in his side, and Gu Lianyi didn't like him either, so I naturally didn't mind making him go crazy at times, yet leaving him helpless.

Perhaps sensing our confrontation, Gu Cheng coughed lightly, then looked at Wang Tianfang and said, "Tianfang, I have something to say to those two."

"Why don't you excuse yourself for a moment?"

Wang Tianfang was taken aback. "Uncle, I'm not..."

Before he could finish speaking, Gu Cheng stopped looking at him and poured me a cup of tea. "Your name is Xu Ruo, right?"

Seeing this, Wang Tianfang could only snort coldly and get up to leave.

After the person left, I nodded and said, "Yes."

Having received my confirmation, Gu Cheng looked at Gu Nianci, who had remained silent to the side, and asked, "You're talking about him, right?"

I subconsciously looked at Gu Nianci.

Gu Nianci nodded with a complicated expression.

"Dad, it's him."

"But it might just be a coincidence."

Gu Cheng shook his head and said, "Whether it's a coincidence or not is not important."

"The important question is, do you think it's him?"

After a moment of silence, Gu Nianci said, "I think it's him."

“That’s him!” Gu Cheng nodded, then looked at me. “Xu Ruo, since you’re Lianyi’s boyfriend, you’re practically a member of the Gu family.”

"I don't care what you did in the past, nor do I care about your confidence."

"There's something I need your help with."

"If you are willing, I can arrange for Lianyi to marry you."

"Dad, do you also want to measure my relationship with Xu Ruo by interests?" Gu Lianyi's expression changed slightly, and she said with some disbelief.

Gu Cheng didn't answer her; he kept his eyes on me the whole time.

“I don’t understand,” I said, shaking my head.

“Lianyi, you should also leave for a while.” Gu Cheng thought for a moment and looked at Gu Lianyi. “You and Nianci haven’t seen each other for a while.”

“I’m not leaving.” Gu Lianyi held my hand. “I have nothing to talk about with her.”

Gu Nianci stood up and looked at Gu Lianyi, "Sister, let's talk."

"Don't worry."

"Dad won't hurt Xu Ruo."

At this point, Gu Nianci gave me a complicated look.

Feeling her gaze, I began to have some guesses in my mind.

This matter might be related to her.

It's related to the Xu family.

If that's the case...

That could be troublesome.

I sighed inwardly, but still nodded to Gu Lianyi to reassure her.

After receiving my hint, Gu Lianyi hesitated for a moment before leaving the living room with Gu Nianci. The once lively living room was now left with only Gu Cheng and me.

After waiting for a while, Gu Cheng said calmly, "You're with Lianyi."

"Is it for the money?"

“I know, she gave you a million.”

I shook my head and said, "I borrowed it from her, and I will return it to her."

"That's not important," Gu Cheng said with a smile. "One million is like a meal to the Gu family; it's nothing to worry about."

"The reason I'm saying this is to tell you."

"You want money? I can give you ten million?"

"One hundred million?"

"It will be all right."

“There’s just the two of us now, so you don’t need to beat around the bush,” I said calmly. “You can just tell me what you want me to do.”
