Chapter 109 The First Time I Was Nervous (2/2)

"It's just so difficult."

"Moreover, the cost of art is really too high, so I'm quite conflicted about it."

"Oh, let's not talk about that. What kind of phone do you want?" Song Qingrong asked as she walked up to the counter.

I thought for a moment and said, "Something close enough is fine."

"Within two thousand."

"If it's too much, I'll have to pay on credit."

Song Qingrong chuckled. "It's alright, I'll let you buy on credit."

"That won't do," I shook my head. "What if your manager finds out and fires you?"

"No way," Song Qingrong said with a smile. "Our store manager is really good to me."

"Then I won't stand on ceremony." Without further ado, I looked around and pointed to a smartphone priced at 1999. Smartphones had developed quite well in 2017; you could buy a decent one for 2000. However, I didn't recognize the brand; I was just looking at the features.

Song Qingrong showed me her phone, and after confirming that it supported Kuaishou and Douyin and had all the basic functions without lagging, I decided to buy it.

The reason for looking at these two functions is mainly for the future development of the project.

Kuaishou, launched in 2011, had developed quite well by 2017, while Douyin emerged as a dark horse in 2016. These two short video platforms will be key to my future creation of a one-stop funeral service.

After buying the phone number, I also bought a SIM card. After setting everything up, I took out the note Yan Shan gave me and wrote down Xu Wei's number.

After thinking for a moment, I sent another text message.

[This is my number, Xu Ruo. We met at the hospital that day.]

Only after doing all this did I breathe a sigh of relief.

Xu Wei has now been contacted.

Next, we just have to wait for her to grow up.

Throughout the entire scene, Song Qingrong watched. Seeing me smiling after I finished, she asked me with some curiosity, "Xu Ruo, is this Xu Wei someone you like?"

I was taken aback for a moment.

I then realized that from the moment I got the phone until I sent Xu Wei the text message, I had acted very nervous and excited. Anyone else would probably have had the same thoughts as Song Qingrong if they had made the same decision.

It's okay if others misunderstand.

Song Qingrong misunderstood; that would be absolutely unacceptable.

I quickly denied it, saying, "No."

"Just a friend."

"My uncle gave me her number so I could save it for future contact."

"However, I have no relationship with her, I've only met her once."

"Don't misunderstand."

Song Qingrong blinked at me and asked, "Xu Ruo, why are you so nervous?"

"I was just curious."

I scratched my head.

"Is there?"

"I just want to explain."

Song Qingrong chuckled. "I know."

"However, you don't need to explain to me."

"Uh..." I said somewhat awkwardly, "Anyway, I've already explained it."

"Okay." Song Qingrong smiled, pursing her lips.

I didn't expect to be so nervous in front of Song Qingrong, but I was genuinely afraid she would misunderstand, so subconsciously I wanted to explain things to her clearly, for no particular reason.

Seeing her smile, I didn't know what to say for a moment, only a faint, indescribable feeling.

happiness?

Maybe so.

Just then, my phone vibrated.

I glanced at it; it was sent by Xu Wei.

It's just a simple sentence.

Add me on Green Bubble (a social media platform), text messages are a bit expensive.
