Chapter 38 Will You Marry Me? (1/2)

I didn't know how to answer Song Qingrong.

Her words suddenly made me feel even more indebted to her.

Because she loves me, but my feelings for her... are not so pure.

After a moment of silence, I said, "Qingrong."

Is it worth it?

Song Qingrong wiped away her tears and said with a smile, "There's no such thing as worth it or not."

"I know what I want."

"Have you forgotten that in the past few years, did no one ever ask you if it was worth it for you to be with Gu Nianci?"

I paused for a moment, then smiled wryly and said, "I understand."

"indeed……"

"There's no such thing as worth it or not."

"Then please don't say you want to leave again, okay?" Song Qingrong looked at me with a hint of pleading.

I nodded slightly and said, "No, it won't happen again."

"but……"

Before I could finish speaking, Song Qingrong quickly came up to me, covered my lips with her hand, and shook her head, saying, "No more buts."

"You just need to understand that this is my choice!"

After saying that, Song Qingrong handed me a letter sent by express mail.

"It should be a notice from the court. I was just about to give it to you. Take a look first."

Looking at the mail, I couldn't help but feel a little dazed. In the blink of an eye, I've already reached this point. If I haven't miscalculated the time, once I'm in the marriage litigation court, I probably only have about a week left.

Of course, even if we don't go to court, based on the time we registered for divorce, there's only about half a month left.

"Have things really come to this between you and Gu Nianci?"

As soon as I opened the letter, Song Qingrong asked.

I thought for a moment and said, "Not really, it was more like a peaceful divorce."

"She got what she wanted, and I'm finally free from our marriage."

"We had already registered for divorce, and going to court now is just to end this marriage as quickly as possible."

At this point, I smiled and said, "Soon, I'll be single."

You probably won't mind that I'm divorced, right?

I made a lighthearted joke.

I didn't dare say what was on my mind.

The end of this marriage also means the end of my life.

Hearing my teasing, Song Qingrong seemed to feel a bit better. She rolled her eyes at me, annoyed, and said, "What nonsense are you talking about? What does your divorce have to do with me?"

“Really?” I stared at her.

Song Qingrong felt a little uncomfortable under my gaze, and pushed me away. "I'm ignoring you. I'm going to cook. What do you want to eat?"

"Either is fine." I smiled and watched Song Qingrong leave the room. Only after she disappeared from my sight did I look at the notice, which only contained a simple explanation and a time.

The time will be two days later.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, once we're in court and waiting for the trial, it really won't be long.

After thinking for a moment, I dialed Gu Nianci's number.

After what happened with Yan Yin, I no longer have such a strong grudge against Gu Nianci. At least she did help me find a specialist to treat Yan Yin, and I will remember that favor.

As for the past, it's time to let it go now that we've come this far.

The reason I called her was simply to ask if I could wait a little longer...

Alternatively, it can be based on the date of divorce registration.

Even though Song Qingrong had made it very clear, I thought that if I could spend one more day with her, it would make her happier for one more day.

The call was answered quickly, but it wasn't Gu Nianci's voice.
