Chapter 76 The Way You Turn Eighteen (2/2)

"Daddy, hug me."

"How old are you? Don't you know shame?" Yan Hai laughed as he carried Yan Yin out of the room.

It took me a while to understand what was happening.

Yan Hai and the others knew that Yan Yin had gone to sleep here.

But they weren't worried at all.

"She's really carefree." I couldn't help but laugh and cry. It's lucky it was me; if it were someone else... things might not have turned out this way.

"It seems that what I taught Yan Yin yesterday was correct."

"However, we still need to teach him."

I made up my mind, and at the same time, looking at the empty bed, I couldn't hold back any longer and lay down and fell asleep immediately.

Perhaps it was because Yan Yin's family made me feel a long-lost sense of peace that I slept very soundly and comfortably this time, until I felt my nose itch and woke up.

What caught my eye was Yan Yin's pair of big, watery eyes staring at me curiously.

She appeared to be holding a foxtail grass in her hand.

Achoo!

I couldn't help but sneeze.

Yan Yin looked at me with a smile: "Brother, get up and eat! The sun has already set!"

Is it getting late again?

I looked out the window and saw that it was indeed getting dark.

"good."

I nodded and walked out of the room. Li Qingmei was already cooking, and Yan Yin brought me toiletries. "Mom asked me to give these to you."

"Please thank Auntie for me."

I readily accepted the items, while Yan Yin ran off to find her mother with a happy expression; she always seemed this cheerful.

But when I think about how she always looked sad when I met her in my past life, and how she kept telling me how unfair the world was, my nose started to sting.

What are you thinking about?

Yan Hai walked over at some point, looked at me with a smile and said, "Don't overthink it. Just make yourself at home here. If there's anything you're not comfortable with, just let us know."

"Okay." I nodded.

Yan Hai didn't say anything more and walked towards the kitchen.

Watching his retreating figure, I called out.

"Uncle."

"Try to go to the hospital for a check-up when you have time."

"Why would you go to the hospital if there's nothing wrong?" Yan Hai looked at me, puzzled.

"Have you been having headaches a lot lately?" I thought for a moment and said.

Originally, I wanted to find an opportunity to get Yan Hai to go to the hospital for a check-up in a more reasonable way, but after thinking it over, I decided it was better to be more direct.

Yan Hai's current condition is likely in the latent stage of brain cancer, but cancer either doesn't manifest at all, or once it does, the consequences will be extremely serious, so I can't wait.

"How did you know?" Yan Hai looked surprised, pulled his foot back from the kitchen, and quickly came to me, pulling me into the room. Then he looked at me nervously and said, "Who told you?"

"I could tell," I said, making up a reason on the spot.

Yan Hai breathed a sigh of relief, then said seriously, "That's good, but don't say anything bad in front of your aunt."

"She tends to overthink things, and I'll make her worry again."

"But you should at least go get checked out, right?" Hearing Yan Hai's words, my feelings became even more complicated. This man, who could be considered the pillar of this family, didn't even dare to tell his family that he felt unwell.

Yan Hai waved his hand dismissively, "It's just that I haven't been sleeping well these past few days."

"I'm just reminding you, simply because I'm afraid they might overthink it if they hear it."

"Do you often have headaches at night?" I asked.

This experience comes from the symptoms of Yan Yin in her previous life.

"You know that?" Yan Hai's eyes widened.

"Uncle, you should still go to the hospital to get it checked out," I advised again. "If you're worried about Aunt and the others, we can go secretly sometime. Otherwise, I'll tell them."

"Aunt!"

I pretended to shout.

If I were in my twenties, Yan Hai might have agreed after I said that.

But now that I'm eighteen, I can only do things the way an eighteen-year-old does.

For example, calling for reinforcements!

"Alright, alright!" Yan Hai quickly shut me up. "You brat, I'm really scared of you."

"But not these next couple of days, maybe next week."

I checked the time and said, "Next Monday, not a day later!"

"Okay, okay, I'll listen to you." Yan Hai said helplessly.

"Uncle, you can go help in the kitchen now," I said with a smile when Yan Hai agreed.

"Keep it a secret!"

Yan Hai hurriedly uttered two words and ran towards the kitchen.

Watching his retreating figure, I laughed again.

This time, I should be able to protect Yan Yin's home, right?

It should be possible.
