Chapter 1: Visitors from Outer Space

Under the blue sky, on top of the peaks.

Amidst the misty clouds, an exquisite courtyard looms among the trees and rocks. Shining tiles and jade pillars are arranged in an orderly manner; a gurgling stream accompanies the chirping of orioles and deer; the air is filled with spiritual energy, creating a scene reminiscent of a fairyland.

Next to the lotus pond in the courtyard, a woman was lying lazily on a bamboo chair basking in the sun.

The woman wore light makeup, a red gauze dress, and her black hair flowed like a waterfall. Her temperament was as elegant as an orchid. Her lively eyes were especially beautiful... but her current posture was not very elegant.

She crossed her legs, her body revealing a beautiful whiteness in the sunlight. In her left hand, she held an ancient book, while her right hand rested leisurely on her storage bag. From time to time, she would take out some food - sometimes melon seeds, sometimes fruit, and eat while reading.

"Hide the soul in the belly, and circulate the Qi in the body... There is some secret to this 'Art of Preserving the Soul'." The woman cracked melon seeds and read the book slowly and leisurely, looking extremely leisurely.

Suddenly, she frowned, then curled her lips, put down her skills, and with a casual move of her hand, a message of spiritual light flew in from outside the mansion:

"Uncle Chu, the inner sect competition will begin at noon today. The head uncle invites you to attend the ceremony."

The woman sighed, her face full of impatience, and replied with only seven words:

"No, I'm in seclusion. Do not disturb me."

What's so good about watching a bunch of kids fighting?

The woman's name is Chu Yao. She has been practicing Taoism for 319 years and has reached the Nascent Soul stage. She is now one of the four supreme elders of the Tianyin Sect.

She was originally an ordinary peasant girl. When she was young, she did odd jobs in a tavern to make a living. Later, she was chosen as a disciple by an old Taoist priest and embarked on the journey of seeking immortality and Taoism.

However, after a few years of her debut, her master died, and she became a freelance cultivator. During these years, she wandered around without a stable place to stay, suffered a lot, and was often cheated and hunted. Her thoughts gradually changed.

At first, it was just for fun, then I wanted to help my family. Once my closest relatives had all died, I began to seek immortality. But then I realized immortality wasn't so easy to achieve, so okay, as long as I could live a comfortable life, that was enough.

In order to get her ideal comfortable and peaceful life, Chu Yao spent nearly three hundred years to finally achieve the right result. Fortunately, she was talented and had some luck. She was in desperate situations many times but was surrounded by dangers. Finally, she rose from a mere cultivator to an elder of a major sect. There is no need to elaborate on the hardships and intrigues she went through in the process.

I've worked hard for three hundred years and finally found a cave. I haven't even slept in my bed long enough, and you want me to watch kids fight? No!

She silently complained inwardly, her thoughts returning to the "Spirit Preservation Technique" in her hand. This technique was found in a cave dwelling of a lost immortal during her Jindan period. She had never had the time to study it, but she had recently found some free time to take a look.

Chu Yao sat up straight, with her feet in the yin and yang positions and her hands on the zi and wu points. Just as she was about to try out her skills, her expression suddenly changed.

The flow of spiritual energy in the body suddenly became sluggish. If it was a rushing river before, it now turned into a soup of earth, rocks and mud, which solidified extremely slowly.

Her first reaction was that there was something wrong with this technique. Later, she discovered that not only her body but also the surrounding spiritual energy had changed. The spiritual energy that had been floating like a gentle breeze seemed to be dead, firmly fixed in the world by an indescribable strange force!

Chu Yao did not panic. She knew that something must have happened in the sect. Her mind raced, and she had already guessed several possibilities. At the same time, she sent out her spiritual sense to find out what was going on.

To her astonishment, her spiritual sense could only reach a distance of less than thirty feet! After all, as a powerful cultivator in the Nascent Soul stage, if she could fully unleash her spiritual sense, it could easily cover a thousand miles. But now, it seemed as if an invisible barrier blocked her spiritual sense, and it could only barely sweep across her cave.

A pale white spirit snake scurried out from a separate courtyard, curled up in Chu Yao's sleeve, and trembled. This was her pet, Xiao Ling. It possessed the magical power of a Jindan stage, but now, facing this strange phenomenon, it was restless and begged its master for protection.

Chu Yao comforted Xiao Ling, pondered for a moment, took a step forward, and in the blink of an eye she arrived at the lobby of the sect's main hall.

The usually deserted main hall was now packed with people, as elders and deacons from various peaks arrived. Seeing Chu Yao approach, everyone saluted her. She simply replied and walked towards the headmaster, where she saw the other three supreme elders also there.

As he walked over, the sound of a bell came from the main peak of the sect in the distance. The bell rang sixteen times, and his survival was in danger!

Seeing the solemn expressions of the other elders, Chu Yao's heart skipped a beat.

"Senior Sister Bai, what on earth is this..."

She asked. Senior Sister's name was Bai Yuejian, one of the four elders, and the highest-level cultivator in the Tianyin Sect, at the late Nascent Soul stage.

"I have tried every possible means, but I still cannot find the source of this power. I just feel that it conflicts with my spiritual power, as if..." Bai Yuejian was about to speak but stopped talking.

"Elder Bai, please feel free to speak."

"It seems like a power that doesn't belong to our world."

Everyone present gasped.

"Of course, there is another possibility, which is that our cultivation is not enough. The only one who can limit the cultivation of the entire sect to such a level can be the legendary Divine Transformation Realm."

This remark caused another commotion in the hall.

The Divine Transformation Realm is a legend on the Fengyuan Continent. While there are historical records of this, and even within the Tianyin Sect, records of Divine Transformation cultivators ascending to the heavens, no Divine Transformation cultivator has ever appeared in the world. It's as if once a cultivator reaches Divine Transformation, they disappear. Consequently, for thousands of years, the Nascent Soul Realm has been considered the pinnacle of cultivation in this world.

Everyone was excited at first, but then their faces turned grim. If this was truly the work of a Divine Transformation cultivator, then the current Tianyin Sect would be unable to resist it.
