Chapter 175 The Storm is Coming

Lingyuan Star, Yaxiu Sea.

Above the sea, the waves are sparkling, as calm as ever.

In the shallows not far from the sea, a grandfather and grandson were collecting nets to catch fish.

Their movements were quite skilled, and it seemed that they had been doing this for many years. The grandfather was responsible for pulling the net and the grandson was responsible for collecting the fish. Several buckets of fish were already loaded on the small boat.

"Master, why are all these fish like idiots today, crashing into the fishing net recklessly..." The dark-skinned young man wiped the sweat off his body with a towel. Although it was very tiring, his eyes were full of excitement. "This trip will be enough to feed us for several months, right? Hey, Master, why don't you say anything?"

The young man looked up and saw that his old man suddenly stood on the bow of the boat and stopped moving.

The old man is over seventy years old, but he is still strong. His firm skin and wrinkles at the corners of his eyes bear witness to the years he has spent at sea.

At this moment, those weather-beaten old eyes were staring fixedly at the sea in the distance. His eyes were as calm as the sea, and his gaze seemed to be cast towards the other end of the sea.

"What's wrong, sir?" The young man asked the old man puzzledly while he was busy.

"Grandson, come home."

"Go home?" The young man stared in disbelief. "There are still several nets of fish that have been confiscated!"

"No matter how many fish there are, you have to live to catch them." The old man shook his head and began to prepare to pull in the anchor. "The storm is coming, the storm is coming."

"Is there going to be a storm?" The young man stared blankly at the sea. The sky in the distance was cloudless. How could it look like it was going to be windy or rainy?

But he still did what his grandfather said. The old man had spent most of his life at sea, and his intuition about the weather had always been accurate, so he had no choice but to trust it.

"The storm is coming..." The old man did not answer, but just muttered the word to himself.

The boat returned to the shore, and the sea of Yaxiu returned to calm. Occasionally, flying fish jumped out of the water and seagulls circled under the white clouds.

Soon, the number of fish jumping out of the water decreased, the cries of seagulls gradually disappeared, and even the waves slowed down a lot, and the sea fell into a deathly calm.

A line of dark clouds appeared on the horizon, and the blue sky seemed to be torn into a hole, revealing the deep starry sky behind it.

Dark clouds began to spread, covering every corner within sight with lightning speed. It truly became a "starry sky," except that this starry sky contained no stars, only a bottomless abyss.

The sea water began to recede significantly, and countless seaweeds and shellfish were exposed on the mudflats. Groups of small fish were tumbling and jumping on the dry beach, struggling helplessly.

A strong wind seemed to be rising in the distance, the originally clear air began to become turbid, and a thick blue fog was rising over the Yaxiu Sea.

If there were still people standing on the beach at this moment, they would definitely see that the sea level seemed to have "risen". A huge wall of sea water was rising in the storm, and with the madness of swallowing everything, it attacked the city on the beach.

Residents living near the Yaxiu coast of the third continent all received warning text messages from the Yari Company's Ocean Bureau on their mobile phones, announcing that a tsunami was coming.

But it's more than just a tsunami.

In the water wall tens of meters high, there is a huge black shadow looming. It is like a giant whale swimming in the waves. Wherever it goes, the surging waves seem to break through the sky.

A massive fish carcass emerged from the waves. It was a true whale, now dead for unknown reasons. Around it, a dense mass of fish carcasses, large and small, swarmed like weeds on the surging "earth." The surging blood and waves combined to compose a symphony of death.

The tsunami broke open a hole in the sea, and the whale's body leaped into the air with a cloud of white foam. Its body was broken into two parts by a huge force, and its organs flew under the dark clouds. A scarlet blood rain fell on the sea.

It was picked up.

The looming black shadow finally revealed its true form from under the tsunami.

This is a giant insect-shaped monster.

The first thing that catches your eye is its huge body. It looks like a centipede magnified thousands of times, and its twisting body segments make it look like a winding black lightning.

It has no eyes, or rather, ordinary people cannot see its eyes at all. The centipede's head is just a big, ferocious mouth with sharp teeth. There is also minced meat mixed in between the wriggling sharp teeth. It is chewing half of the whale's body.

It took flight. The force behind its flight was the dozens of fleshy wings dotting its back. These wings were extremely short, seemingly disproportionate to its massive body, like a snake with bee wings. Yet, it was precisely these short "bee wings" that allowed it to soar above the sea.

The "centipede" swallowed the last few pieces of meat in its mouth, circled above the tsunami for half a circle, then opened its huge mouth and let out a howl like a tiger's roar and a dragon's roar.

Foam began to appear on the sea surface, and the range of the foam grew from small to large. The entire sea area seemed to be boiling, and steam was rising.

Shadows of varying sizes appeared beneath the sea, and countless insect-like monsters crawled out of the sea.

Some looked like spiders, some looked like mantises, and some looked no different from the giant centipede, just a few sizes smaller.

The winged creatures followed the centipede and soared into the sky. More insect monsters mixed in among the waves and fish corpses, covering the sky and the earth.

These hideous monsters waved their limbs, opened their mouths wide, and let out deafening roars along with the giant centipede.

The sky seemed to have cracked, but the dark clouds did not dissipate. A violent roar was brewing in the clouds, which was a precursor to thunderstorms and heavy rain.

On all the continents of Lingyuan Star, all the cultivators hiding in the dark trembled all over.
