Chapter 3 Black Mirror

Chu Yao suppressed the excitement rising in her heart and remained sitting still without moving.

She did not rashly try to activate the Soul Storage Technique immediately because she did not know whether the force that captured them had the means to detect the flow of spiritual energy in their bodies. If they did, the consequences would be unimaginable.

So she remained calm on the surface, but her mind was frantically recalling the contents of the Soul Storage Technique, repeating it over and over again until she memorized it thoroughly.

Only after he was able to recite the Soul Conservation Technique word for word did Chu Yao end his meditation again.

Senior Sister Bai sat quietly to the side, lost in thought. Senior Brothers Chen and Lu remained in their meditation positions, occasionally frowning and making hand gestures, apparently still experimenting.

But before long, they too gave up with bitter expressions. The four of them stared at each other, speechless for a moment.

"I have tried many methods, but nothing works in this strange place." Bai Yuejian spoke first, and the other two nodded bitterly.

Chu Yao remained silent and nodded.

"It seems we can only wait and see what happens."

Just as he finished speaking, there was a sudden banging sound from the other side of the hall, attracting everyone's attention.

Chu Yao also turned her head to look, and saw a fat and strong eight-foot tall man who was punching the wall continuously. The punches were powerful and loud.

Chu Yao knew this man. He was a notorious wandering cultivator on the Fengyuan Continent and a rare body-building cultivator in the world. Because he always fought with others unreasonably, everyone called him "Crazy Zhang".

"Kidnap and imprison people for no reason, is this how you upper realm cultivators behave? If you don't give me an explanation today, don't blame me, Old Zhang, for smashing your shabby house!"

Crazy Zhang roared angrily and punched the wall again, but unfortunately, apart from the loud noise, the wall did not move at all.

"Save your energy, Crazy Zhang. If this white wall could be easily broken through, we would have gotten out long ago." Someone interrupted.

"What? Do you look down on me, Old Zhang? How about we practice?"

Crazy Zhang glared fiercely at the person who interrupted him. The latter shuddered violently, lowered his head and stopped talking.

"Hmph. Old Zhang, I look down on you people from big and powerful sects. You're so hesitant and timid, like women! You think you can escape by just sitting on the ground? Once your spiritual power is sealed, we're all mortals, no one is nobler than anyone else." Crazy Zhang snorted coldly, and then continued with his posture of smashing the house.

The other cultivators present remained silent. Those closest to Crazy Zhang quietly moved away. The others simply stood by, watching from the sidelines.

Chu Yao frowned, but made the same choice as the others. Everyone present was a veteran, centuries-old fox. While this madman's reckless behavior was unpleasant, they also wanted to see if he could really cause any trouble.

"Hey!" Crazy Zhang took a stance and was about to throw another punch when he suddenly stopped. Then everyone saw him suddenly clench the collar around his neck with both hands, looking painfully at him, trying to take it off.

The sound of "beep beep" continued, and everyone felt a flash before their eyes. A strong arc of lightning slanted out from the collar and moved across Crazy Zhang's body. Crazy Zhang howled in pain, his whole body convulsing and shaking violently like a live fish thrown into boiling oil, and then he fell heavily to the ground with black smoke billowing from his body.

Then, a black "mirror" suddenly appeared in the center of the hall.

The mirror seemed to have no thickness, and only a straight line could be seen from its side. Its front and back were the same pure black, deep and mysterious, as if it did not belong to this world.

The mirror was suspended in the air and floated in front of Crazy Zhang. With a dull buzzing sound, granular black light mist emanated from the surface of the mirror, and then the exhausted Crazy Zhang was "sucked" in by the mirror.

Yes, it is "sucking". Just like a pond frog catching food, it stretches out its tongue and swallows the insects and flies into its stomach.

After the mirror did all this, it disappeared from where it was.

There was complete silence.

The "Black Mirror" suddenly appeared and disappeared strangely, leaving everyone with only fear and shock.

Chu Yao swallowed and gasped, trying to control her violent heartbeat, but her body still trembled slightly uncontrollably.

Whether it was the previous spaceship, golden light, or the black mirror that just appeared, they all caused a huge impact on the minds of this group of monks.

This group of monks who were once high and mighty are now like mortals who have witnessed the magic of immortals, shocked by the supreme miracle.

This was completely beyond their imagination, and at the same time made them accept the cruel reality:

No matter how high your cultivation level is, you are just an ant here.

Everyone returned to their seats, their expressions varied, each with their own thoughts. Some were talking to one another, but their voices were much quieter.

Chu Yao took a long time to calm down. Thinking about what had just happened, she whispered to Senior Sister Bai beside her:

"Crazy Zhang is..."

"It's the early stage of Nascent Soul, but it should be about to break through." Bai Yuejian seemed to know what Chu Yao wanted to ask.

It's about the same as my cultivation level...

"Was that the collar just now firing thunder?"

"Yes. But I can't imagine what kind of thunder magic can defeat that madman. He has a certain method for forging his body, and even mid-stage thunder magic can't do anything to him."

Silence again.

"I have a spirit beast left in the sect. Although its spiritual sense cannot be used, the mark is still there and it has some sense." Chen Muyao seemed to think for a long time before deciding to speak.

"But now, the induction has become weaker and weaker, which means we are already far away from the Tianyin Sect."

Chu Yao leaned against the wall and closed her eyes with a slight tiredness.
