Chapter 98: Qihang Building

Tianhai City Center, Qihang Building.

A luxurious black car zigzagged from the street in the distance and drove into the parking lot under the building.

Although it found an empty space, the car was stuck in the space like a snail, unable to park properly. After the driver reversed the steering wheel more than ten times, the lost snail finally found its home and parked steadily in an empty space.

A little girl with twin ponytails opened the car door and jumped out of the driver's seat. She was wearing a bright red windbreaker and large sunglasses. She walked around the car vigorously and opened the back door.

"How is it, Sister Chu, is my car driving okay?"

"You drive very well, don't drive next time."

Chu Yao resisted the urge to vomit and walked down. Su Huohuo's driving was more exciting than flying a helicopter, making Chu Yao dizzy.

Being able to knock a monk unconscious with one's driving skills... might be a skill.

Chu Yao was about to say something when Su Huohuo started jumping around in circles at the entrance of the building:

"Wow, Sister Chu, this is my first time here! There are so many trees! Look at how much water is in that fountain!"

ah?

Her words left Chu Yao stunned. In the field of funny people, Chu Yao finally found an opponent.

However, the environment here is indeed much better than the dark streets.

Chu Yao circulated her spiritual power around her body, and when her head was no longer dizzy, she raised her head and looked around.

Below the tall building shaped like a giant sail is a wide stone brick square, surrounded by green plants and flowers, which emit the fragrance of soil under the infiltration of sprinklers; in the center of the square stands a huge artificial fountain pool, and at the top of the fountain there is a sail-shaped marble statue, sparkling with crystal light among the gushing water columns.

Not far from the fountain was the building's main entrance, its canopy and columns alone reaching three stories high. People were constantly coming in and out of the massive, light-black glass sensor door. Their attire varied, but the majority wore the black and white uniforms of the Yali Company. Some had tired eyes, while others were radiant with energy.

"This place is really nice, Sister Chu. After we rob the Liunan Gang, let's rob this place."

"How dare you say that." Chu Yao patted Su Huohuo's head. "Behave yourself for a moment. We are here to do serious business."

"Okay, okay."

"By the way, I haven't asked you yet...why are you wearing the same clothes as me?"

"Hehe, isn't this just following your lead? Sister Chu's fashion is the fashion of the Maowei Gang! It's the fashion of Tianhai City!" Su Huohuo twisted her waist, and her red dress shook.

“…” Chu Yao wanted to complain, but didn’t know where to start. She silently accepted Su Huohuo’s flattery, and the two walked towards the entrance of the building.

"Oh my god, it's so cold."

As soon as he entered the door, the cold air from the air conditioner made Su Huohuo shiver.

Chu Yao patted her head again: "I brought you here to broaden your horizons! Can you please not embarrass yourself!"

"It's just very cold..." Su Huohuo muttered and hugged himself tightly.

The first impression Chu Yao had of the Qihang Building's interior was one of cleanliness. Whether it was the walls or the floor, everything was so meticulously clean that Chu Yao could even see her own reflection in it.

There was nothing new about the building. Aside from the sensor door at the entrance and the elevators on both sides of the lobby, there didn't seem to be any outrageous high-tech features. It was as ordinary as it could be, no different from any other office building.

Everyone here seemed very busy, all in a hurry. Chu Yao and Su Huohuo walked towards the front desk, but someone had already walked up to them not far away.

This was a woman in formal attire, standing tall and meticulous. She crossed her hands in front of her and leaned slightly towards Chu Yao, asking:

"Excuse me, are you Ms. Chu Xiaoye?"

"It's me." Chu Yao nodded.

"Hello, Ms. Chu. I'm Mayor Wu's secretary. Just call me Xiao Liu. Please follow me."

Chu Yao grabbed Su Huohuo, who was looking around, and followed Xiao Liu into the elevator.

Secretary Liu pressed the button for the 50th floor, and after a wonderful feeling of weightlessness, several people arrived at the top floor of the Qihang Building.

Following Secretary Liu around several corners in the corridor, they finally arrived at the door of the mayor's office. A bodyguard wearing sunglasses was guarding the door.

"Xiaohuo, wait outside the door for a moment."

"Don't worry, Sister Chu, leave it to me!" Su Huohuo patted his chest and stood side by side with the bodyguard at the door. It really looked like the real thing, except that the bright red color on his body was a bit eye-catching.

The bodyguard glanced at her sideways and then turned away.

"What are you looking at! If you dare to do anything bad to Sister Chu, I will bite you to death!" Su Huohuo bared his teeth at the bodyguard like a frightened puppy.

Chu Yao held her forehead, feeling a little regretful for bringing her here.

Secretary Liu led Chu Yao to her seat and poured her a cup of tea. "Please sit down first. Mayor Wu has something urgent to do and will be back soon."

"Okay, thank you for your help." Chu Yao was not in a hurry. She didn't have anything urgent to do at the moment.

She sat in the guest chair and looked around. The mayor's office was in the same style as the hall and was not as luxurious as she had imagined. Both the bookcases and the desk revealed simplicity.

The most eye-catching thing may be the large floor-to-ceiling window behind the desk. From there, you can see the long coastline extending into the distance, and everything in Tianhai City is in sight.

This wait lasted for half an hour. Su Huo Ham, who was standing outside the door, was so tired that he even came in to drink tea with Chu Yao. In the end, he felt really bored and, with Chu Yao's consent, went back to the car to play with his phone.

Chu Yao didn't need a bodyguard in the first place. If she were in danger, Su Huohuo would be of no use to her.

I just heard that this girl has never walked out of the dark streets since she was a child, so I brought her here to broaden her horizons.

"Oh, oh, this must be the famous Miss Chu from Dark Street. I've heard of you for a long time." After nearly a quarter of an hour, Mayor Wu finally showed up. He walked into the room with a smile on his face and stretched out his hand to Chu Yao.

"Mayor Wu is such a busy man. He's made me wait here for almost an hour." Chu Yao's hand touched his and then left him immediately.

How could she not know that Mayor Wu was trying to intimidate her?

"Alas, there's nothing I can do. I'm too busy with official duties to spare the time." Wu Youguo seemed not to notice the sarcasm in Chu Yao's words. He smiled and waved his hand, "Secretary Liu, quickly serve Miss Chu some tea!"

"I've already had enough tea. No need to pour more." Chu Yao smoothed her bangs. "Mayor Wu didn't invite me here just for tea, did he?"

"Hehehe." Wu Youguo sat in his chair and looked at Chu Yao through the silver-rimmed glasses on his nose:

"This is 'Black Hair Tea', a specialty of the Third Continent. It's said there's a local custom that if someone offers you tea, you must taste it. Not tasting it would be disrespectful to the host."
