36. Test
Her Majesty the Queen's eyes were very beautiful, a clear amber color. At this moment, Pi Min's figure was reflected in her pupils, giving the impression of a large beast staring at its prey.
Pi Min got goosebumps all over her body from her stare.
Knowing that no reaction of her body could escape the watchful eye of the person in front of her, she deliberately picked up a large wrench from the ground and, while screaming, swung it at the head of the man who had just been resurrected next to Her Majesty the Empress.
"He's alive! He's alive again! Ahhhhhh..." Since the other party had already noticed her fear, she acted even more terrified.
The beautiful woman was startled by her sudden reaction and hurriedly waved her hand. The man who had just been hit on the head with a large wrench and was now clutching his head in pain, disappeared in an instant.
“Anger, fear… I’m sorry, I forgot that you Earthlings are a very fragile species.” As it turned out, Pimin’s choice was right. Her Majesty the Queen was not angry at all, but instead showed concern and gently patted her back.
That look and those movements inexplicably reminded her of how Earthlings soothe stressed kittens and puppies.
So, she gradually calmed down, just like a frightened kitten or puppy.
Seeing that she had stopped trembling, Her Majesty the Queen breathed a sigh of relief.
"Don't be afraid, that's not real. It's just a dummy I created for testing. Look!"
With a gentle wave of her hand, countless small screens instantly appeared in the previously pure white space. On the screens, a man was passionately kissing his so-called ex-girlfriends.
Pi Min's eyes darkened. If she hadn't reacted quickly enough, she probably would have been one of them.
The girls reacted differently; some struggled, while others enjoyed it. Even though he knew the person in the picture wasn't him and that it was all fake, Pi Min still felt a little nauseous and wanted to vomit.
It felt like something that belonged to me had been dirtied.
"vomit--"
Physiological reactions cannot be faked at all.
Seeing the pain on her face, Her Majesty the Queen, who was standing opposite her, suddenly extended two tendrils from her forehead and touched her temples.
"It's nothing, just a vomiting reflex caused by nausea. It seems you really hate him."
Not daring to delve deeper into the question, Pi Min adjusted her breathing, pointed to the images suspended in mid-air, and asked, "What are these?"
"A test." Her Majesty the Queen was indeed easy to talk to, kindly satisfying her curiosity. "You Earthlings' mouths may lie, but your bodies are very honest. Just one kiss can measure the stage of feelings between two people through the secretion of hormones in their bodies."
Her gaze swept across the screens before her, and Her Majesty's amber pupils narrowed slightly as she chuckled, "That guy is indeed charming; nearly 70% of people experience a romantic reaction when they kiss him. Unfortunately, none of them are right; their hormone levels are definitely not those of his ex-girlfriend."
"We can't rule out the possibility that it's unrequited love on his part, and that his ex-girlfriend doesn't love him at all. So, we can only continue testing."
With a gentle wave of her hand, the scene on the small screen in mid-air shifted abruptly, transforming from an endless white space into a perilous jungle.
“Dangerous environments are the best test of the level of understanding between people; the psychological distance between strangers and acquaintances is different.”
Her Majesty the Queen spoke with great seriousness, but Pi Min had some reservations.
Is it possible that a real acquaintance wouldn't even need to wait until you start the test to realize that the person in front of you is fake?
Thinking about the contrast between that man's public and private personas, I felt relieved. People can't imagine what they haven't seen. Her Majesty the Queen before me had probably only seen him when he was forced to perform, so she naturally couldn't imagine how unconventional and eccentric his true personality really was.
On each small screen, the fake finalists and players were chased by cheetahs and fled in a sorry state. Meanwhile, Her Majesty the Queen in front of the screen kept switching between screens and retrieving various data. If she hadn't ruled out the correct answer from the beginning, the scene would have looked very sci-fi and quite intimidating.
"Alright, the rest can be handled by the Imperial Central Computer."
Having finished her work, Her Majesty the Queen once again turned her gaze to Pi Min's identity, which startled Pi Min.
Then, Her Majesty the Queen reached out and gently stroked her back again.
"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. I mean you no harm, I'm just curious." The unrealistically beautiful girl in front of him stared wide-eyed at Pi Min with her amber eyes. "I'm very curious, what are you thinking?"
"What?"
"Giving the exit card to someone else. And then deliberately getting involved in this mess. What do you care about other people's lives? We Thetian gods are also social animals, but we are different from Earthlings. The underlying code of every individual must serve me, and I naturally enjoy the dedication and service of other individuals in the Empire. I have never understood your altruistic behavior as Earthlings. Why sacrifice yourself for some insignificant people?"
Pi Min was stunned; she found herself completely unable to answer. Talking about human fairness and justice to an alien whose social structure was so different from Earth's?
After a long silence, she decided to change the subject: "I can't understand your views on love either. Do you really like that man? If you were a human being, you would absolutely not be able to stand him kissing another woman if you really liked him."
Her Majesty the Empress's nonchalant smile froze: "So you Earthlings aren't like this after all?"
Her reaction at that moment was just like a student who was working hard on a test and suddenly realized that he had answered a question wrong; his beautiful amber eyes were full of confusion and helplessness.
After a moment of disappointment, she suddenly shook her head and tried to comfort herself with a smile: "It's okay, I'll understand once I win over that man."
Although he didn't know what kind of alien the Empress in front of him was, Pimin subconsciously thought of one word—pseudo-human.
The girl in front of me looked exactly like a fake human in a horror story, trying her best to collect information in order to perfectly impersonate a human.
As the two were talking, the small screens floating in mid-air lit up one by one with the red words "Possibility ruled out" before disappearing.
The small screens that had been densely covering their vision disappeared one by one at a speed visible to the naked eye, revealing a pure white space that was originally empty.
As she watched helplessly as the last few small screens were ruled out and then disappeared, Her Majesty the Queen, who had been full of hope, finally broke down.
"This isn't it! This isn't it! This isn't it either! Why? I've already arrested all the suspected individuals, why isn't it any of them?"
After a moment's hesitation, Pi Min finally decided to speak: "Is it possible that this so-called ex-girlfriend never existed at all? Perhaps it's just an excuse she made up to reject you?"
"impossible!"
Those amber eyes locked onto Pi Min once again, and Pi Min felt a cold, sticky sensation, as if she were being stared at by a venomous snake.
Knowing this was a rare opportunity, she didn't back down. She took a deep breath and continued, "Why is it impossible? Humans are creatures that are very good at lying."
His amber pupils suddenly contracted: "You mean, he lied to me?"
“I’m just guessing, it’s possible, it’s possible.” Pi Min tried to adjust his words to appear impartial. “I’m just analyzing the issue from a human perspective. In my opinion, if he really had an ex-girlfriend and considered her his life, he would never have revealed it to you.”
Her Majesty the Queen frowned, and upon hearing this, she suddenly grabbed Pi Min's shoulder and anxiously asked, "If you were him, what would you do?"
Pi Min calmly met her gaze and said indifferently, "I will hide her and not let anyone know of her existence, instead of like this Lord of Earth in front of me, who puts her in the open and even lets the players turn her existence into a meme."
"Yeah?"
Pi Min nodded, and even boldly patted Her Majesty the Queen on the shoulder: "Even if that ex-girlfriend really exists, you don't need to care. The moment he put her on the table, it proved that he didn't like her that much at all."
After a fierce analysis, she even convinced herself that she felt a chill in her heart, a tightness in her chest, and a feeling of being unable to breathe.
In any case, the pressure is now on the men.
She was definitely not a good person; she would rather collect his body than have someone else live happily with him under her identity.
"You Earthlings are such a hassle!" Her Majesty the Queen didn't mind Pimin's offense. Hearing this, she suddenly smiled and said, "But that's exactly why I like you Earthlings. Complex, ever-changing, you can be observed, yet you can never be fully analyzed, like an unsolvable mystery."
Sensing the goodwill in Her Majesty the Queen's eyes, Pimin decided to satisfy his curiosity a little: "Why do you like the Lord of Earth?"
"Because I love the Earth."
This answer was quite unexpected. Pi Min was stunned for a moment before he thought to ask further: "What does liking Earth have to do with liking the Lord of Earth?"
"It's simple. Once I become the Lord of Earth, Earth will be mine." The girl, whose beauty seemed unreal, suddenly laughed as she spoke, a laugh that resembled that of a child eagerly anticipating a new toy.
Pi Min was stunned. So, her proposal to that man was simply to obtain Earth?
Did she hear that right? This is like taking advantage of someone who has no descendants!
As expected of an alien, she cannot be measured by human thinking at all; she can so openly admit her plan to eat up the family's wealth.
"Alright, now that the test is over, I'll take you home."
"You're not going to kill me?"
Seeing Pi Min's astonished expression, the girl laughed instead: "Why would I kill you? I'm not so bored as to randomly pinch ants for fun."
Pi Min frowned and pressed, "What about those ex-girlfriends who were killed before?"
Her Majesty the Queen's smile froze, and she explained with a slightly embarrassed expression, "It was just that my subordinates acted on their own initiative and did something unnecessary. Don't worry, I will hand them over to the police when we get back."
Pi Min was not satisfied with the result.
She really wanted to ask, "Although it was your subordinates who acted on their own initiative, weren't you the one who started it all?"
Unfortunately, when you're under someone's roof, you have to bow your head. For her own safety, she ultimately swallowed her words. Right now, she had no right to speak to the girl in front of her as an equal.
Children sitting near an anthill playing with ants can choose not to step on the ants, or they can choose to throw the ants off their feet when they crawl on them and then stomp on them.
"You're taking me back, but what about the others?" Although she didn't want to provoke the other person, she couldn't help but ask this question.
"As expected of you." Her Majesty the Empress smiled knowingly upon hearing this. "Don't worry, since none of them are them, then not one of them will be missing."
Pi Min breathed a long sigh of relief; the anxiety that had been hanging in the air finally subsided completely.
Just when she thought the matter was over, the girl in front of her, who had maintained an elegant and noble demeanor, suddenly chuckled and pounced on her with open arms. Her amber eyes gleamed with a hungry and determined light, like a tiger pouncing on its prey.
