49. You madman

49. You madman

"You're kidding, the spaceship is really about to take off!"

The man was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, but Pi Min remained calm.

"I really enjoy my life now and don't want to leave you."

After confirming she wasn't joking, the man gasped: "Do you know what you're saying?"

Pi Min firmly pried his hand away as he grabbed her again, lowered her eyelids, and said in a muffled voice, "Actually, I knew all along that you didn't love me that much."

"Ah!" (second tone) Probably not expecting that even at a time like this, she would still have the leisure to think about such trivial things, the man stood there stunned, his whole being exuding an indescribable shock and bewilderment.

Unfortunately, Pimin remained lost in his own world, looking melancholic and unreasonable: "If you really cared about me, you wouldn't have risked your life to provoke Queen Camille."

Only then did the man realize what had happened, and he hurriedly begged for forgiveness: "I'm innocent! Of course I love you! I love you more than I love myself! But there are always some things in this world that are more important than my own life, more important than love."

Pi Min wiped away non-existent tears from the corners of her eyes and continued her acting: "Go, don't worry about me. Go and pursue what's more important than your life, more important than love."

The man shook his head repeatedly and then hugged her tightly.

Pimin, her face cold, pried his fingers apart one by one: "I thought I didn't care. When I realized you didn't like me that much, I was just a little disappointed. But when you stretched your neck out in front of Queen Kami, my heart turned cold. Sacrificing yourself for righteousness, how noble! How could an ordinary person like me be worthy of a great hero like you?"

Seeing that she was really angry, the man panicked and wished he could kneel down before her on the spot.

"I...I...I really didn't intend to sacrifice myself for righteousness! If I had backed down then, I would have disgraced all of humanity. Besides, I know that Empress. She's all bark and no bite, all fierce on the outside but weak on the inside, and she's incredibly soft-hearted. She's just sharp-tongued, but she won't kill me!"

"If the other side is truly the kind of ruthless ruler with no bottom line, we don't even have the right to sit at the table and compete with them!"

Pi Min didn't speak, but just stared at him coldly.

It is often this kind of expression that is most oppressive. The man nervously twisted his fingers, and the confident demeanor he had when confronting Queen Camille was completely gone.

After a long pause, he could only stammer out, "I thought you would understand me."

"I don't understand, but I respect your choice. You go and do your big things, and I'll live my life. You can go now; I really like my life now."

"I'm sorry, I was wrong!"

The man sincerely apologized, but Pi Min remained unmoved.

Whether you are right or wrong is not for me to judge!

"Wife, you can't do this! I can't live without you!"

Pi Min raised an eyebrow and laughed, "No, you can. You left the underground city back then and never came back, and nothing happened to you."

"I'm not coming back because I'm going to the Illusion Star. I need to find a way to save all of humanity, my dear!" With both old and new grievances piled up, the man was completely at his wit's end. His expression was one of grievance and he was almost in tears.

Unfortunately, Pi Min remained hard-hearted and pushed the person out, saying, "Hurry up and leave before anyone finds out."

"No, we'll go together!" Seeing that explanations were useless, the man simply started to pester her relentlessly, kneeling on the ground and tightly hugging Pi Min's leg. "Wife, I really can't live without you!"

"Let go!"

"I won't let go!"

"Let go!"

"I won't let go!"

...

"Clap clap clap!" Just as the two were struggling and stuck in place, unable to move, a series of crisp claps suddenly rang out in the air.

Then came Her Majesty the Queen's infectious laughter: "Hahahaha... What a show!"

This time it wasn't remote monitoring, but a real person. After Her Majesty the Queen finished speaking, she gracefully stepped out of the shadows of the room.

The two, who were still acting out a melodramatic scene, were stunned as if struck by lightning.

"Y-you, when did you get here?" The man was so shocked that he stammered.

Her Majesty the Empress glanced at him sideways: "Just when you said I was all bark and no bite, all bluster and no substance."

Being caught talking badly about someone behind their back is embarrassing, even for someone with the thickest skin. The man touched his nose and, as expected, changed the subject: "If you insist on keeping someone as a pet, I can trade myself for her. I'll stay, and you can let her go!"

Unfortunately, Her Majesty the Queen merely glanced at him indifferently before shaking her head with a disdainful expression: "Hmph! Without all of humanity as a dowry, what do you think you are?"

Seeing Her Majesty the Empress step forward with her arms crossed, the man spread his arms to shield Pi Min behind him and said sincerely, "Name whatever conditions you want. I will do my best to meet them as long as I can. I only ask that you set her free."

Her Majesty the Queen chuckled, shook her head, and retorted, "How do you know she wants the freedom you're offering? Maybe she likes it here and doesn't want to leave?"

"That's impossible!"

The man categorically denied it, but to his surprise, Pimin pushed aside his hand that was blocking her way and took the initiative to stand behind Queen Camille: "Nothing is impossible. I really like it here, and I really don't want to leave."

"Why?"

Before Pimin could speak, Her Majesty the Queen interrupted with a laugh, "Because she's already pregnant with my little bug! My darling, don't you think so?"

As she spoke, she even smiled and raised an eyebrow at Pi Min.

Pimin always maintained a proper perspective, believing that her relationship with the Empress before her was that of a pet and its owner. Hearing this was no less shocking than an owner telling their cat that it was pregnant with their child.

Her first reaction was to laugh, and then she was shocked.

How dare she tell such a blatant lie? That's just too disgusting!

However, it's so exciting, she likes it.

"Yes." Afraid of laughing out loud, she could only bury her face in Her Majesty the Empress's arms.

Humans are indeed creatures whose bottom line is easily lowered. Having gotten used to Her Majesty the Queen's kisses and hugs, she no longer resists her embrace.

"That's impossible!" Upon hearing this, the man indeed showed an expression as if the sky had fallen.

"It's true, you can leave now!" As if the man hadn't suffered enough, Pi Min deliberately grabbed the Empress's collar and began to whine pitifully, "Your Majesty, please send him away, I hate him!"

Taking the opportunity, Her Majesty the Empress patted her head, looking quite pleased: "Since my little darling has said so, while I'm in a good mood, hurry up and get lost!"

Then, Pimin watched helplessly as the man was forced into a supply ship from Earth by security robots and thrown out.

She breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the spaceship safely depart.

During her time living here, she had already figured out everything about this planet.

This planet appears vibrant and pristine, unpolluted. But in reality, it harbors a terrifyingly sophisticated security system.

The instant the man appeared before her, tens of thousands of weapons of various models and specifications were already locked onto him through their scopes—beneath her feet, on the ground, in the water, and in the air. With a single command from Her Majesty the Empress, not even a speck of dust would remain.

The gap in civilization cannot be bridged by a man's courage alone; she did not want to continue seeing men at odds with the Thetian Empire.

It's better to forget each other in the vast world than to cling together in hardship.

He became her human leader, and she became her alien pet. Thinking about it, it's not a bad ending.

She is a content person, and her life now is much happier than when she was scavenging for trash in the dungeon.

Just as she was feeling relieved that the crisis had passed, she suddenly heard Her Majesty the Empress's voice in her ear. This time, it was not the familiar, husky voice she was used to.

"Sweetie, you really love him. You're the ex-girlfriend he was talking about, right?"

It was just a simple sentence, but it gave her goosebumps all over.

She took a deep breath and looked up, meeting the Empress's unfathomable amber eyes: "I don't understand, how could it be you? In the previous test, you clearly killed him without hesitation?"

Knowing Her Majesty's temper, Pimin decided to be honest: "Because I know that the person in the test wasn't him. The person in the test was the one you remember, not the one I remember."

"So that's how it is, hahahahaha... I was so stupid, really!" Her Majesty the Empress threw her head back and laughed wildly, laughing so hard that she was doubled over and tears were streaming down her face.

After a long pause, she finally suppressed her smile and grabbed Pi Min's shoulder fiercely. She looked at Pi Min with a half-smile, an expression that involuntarily reminded Pi Min of a pet owner dealing with a husky that had just wrecked the house.

"I'm so angry! You wicked little thing! How dare you manipulate me like this. You even went so far as to solemnly analyze for me that this so-called ex-girlfriend doesn't exist at all. How could you be so mean?"

"I should kill you, but you're so cute, I just can't bring myself to do it! I'll punish you by kissing you to death!"

Her hands involuntarily tightened, but then loosened at the last moment before hurting Pi Min. In the end, she simply took a deep breath and kissed Pi Min hard on the cheek.

Two bites, three bites, four bites...

Each bite was more furious than the last, each bite more forceful than the last.

Pi Min originally thought that the death of a loved one was just a metaphor, never dreaming that it could actually become a form of punishment.

After Her Majesty the Queen finished venting her anger and left satisfied, she collapsed onto the bed, unable to get up for a long time. She finally understood why the sheriff always had a look of utter despair after she finished with him.

The cat will grumble and lick its fur after being petted, while she has to wash her hair and take a shower to wipe away the drool all over her body.

Humans and aliens do indeed have different aesthetics; she will never understand what's so cute about adult humans.

There's no lasting grudge between owners and their beloved pets. When the familiar clipping sound rings out again the next day, Pimin knows that this ordeal is over.

The days continued uneventfully, and Pimin had even mentally prepared herself to live out her days alone on this planet as a pet.

However, to her surprise, the man who had suffered a double blow from her and Her Majesty the Queen would make a comeback.

"It's you again?"

Looking at the man still wearing the tag that read "Pork Tenderloin Awaiting Slaughter," she was both amused and exasperated. Her Majesty the Empress clearly didn't care about him; she hadn't even patched up such an obvious flaw.

This time, before she could push him away, the man had already started yelling, "Kami, listen to me. Who keeps only one pet? If you're going to keep one, keep a pair. Humans are social animals; keeping only one will make you depressed."

Seeing that Her Majesty the Queen did not react for a long time, he even resorted to provocation: "What, you went to great lengths to get me before, but now that I'm offering myself up, you're not taking me? Are you traumatized by me and afraid of me?"

Queen Camille was indeed online; a soft chuckle quickly filled the air: "You little thing, you're quite narcissistic. Go ahead and accept it, why don't you!"

"Honey, I'm here to keep you company!"

"You're crazy, you're insane! Get out of here, who wants you to keep them company?"

The man was overjoyed, but Pi Min was so angry at his stupidity and rashness that she cursed him.

Just a second before the man, arms outstretched and face beaming with excitement, rushed over, poised to pull the person into his embrace—

"Snap—"

A pane of glass fell from the sky, splitting the entire castle in two.

He was on this side of the glass, and she was on the other side.
