Chapter 61 Don't Force Me to Have a Miscarriage

Chapter 61 Don't Force Me to Have a Miscarriage

This project requires us to first organize the data, collect information, summarize it, and finally produce a document. We also need to create a PowerPoint presentation to give to the school leaders.

Only after the departmental defense and the leadership has no objections can the application for implementation be submitted.

Only after it passes the test will it be put into actual use.

After explaining the situation, Ji Mingtang let the students choose their own group leaders and form groups.

He had other things to do, and after he left, Huo Yunying stood up and said, "Does anyone have any objections to me becoming the group leader?"

Lin Xiyin could tell that, apart from Huo Yunying, the other students generally didn't care much about interpersonal relationships.

She volunteered herself, and naturally no one objected.

Then they were divided into groups again. After Huo Yunying finished dividing them, Wu Xinyue said, "I disagree."

Huo Yunying looked at her: "Why?"

Wu Xinyue pointed to the group of people on her side: "This grouping is unfair. All the people on your side are top students."

Huo Yunying smiled and said, "Don't say that. Aren't all our seniors amazing? Do you think they'll hold you back?"

Wu Xinyue immediately panicked: "How could I have meant that!"

Lin Xiyin tugged at Wu Xinyue: "It's okay."

Wu Xinyue said, "You don't know, the people she chose..."

"It's alright, I'm here." Lin Xiyin nodded to her. "Don't worry."

It was obvious to the naked eye that Wu Xinyue was no match for Huo Yunying.

Huo Yunying's single sentence could make Wu Xinyue disliked by everyone.

Huo Yunying glanced at Lin Xiyin and then said, "Your group two will be responsible for the preliminary data. Our group one will be responsible for data organization."

Wu Xinyue became anxious again: "Are you only letting a few of us do it?"

Data processing is fundamental, but the process is tedious, complicated, and time-consuming.

It's obviously a tough job.

But if the data isn't done well, everything else is in vain.

Huo Yunying said, "Any more problems? Can't you do it?"

Wu Xinyue gritted her teeth, wanting to say something, but considering Huo Yunying's family background, she ultimately said nothing.

After the tasks were assigned, everyone got busy.

Lin Xiyin was focused on her own work when Wu Xinyue exclaimed in surprise.

Lin Xiyin looked over: "What's wrong?"

Wu Xinyue pointed at her computer: "You, you..."

"Is there a problem?" Lin Xiyin looked at it and frowned. "Where?"

"How could you be so fast!" Wu Xinyue looked down in disbelief and examined the formula again carefully. "What...what does this formula mean? I've never seen it before?"

Lin Xiyin explained it to her, and then looked up to see her looking completely bewildered.

Wu Xinyue murmured, "Is this the difference between a master's student and a doctoral student?"

She quickly came to her senses: "Wait a minute, I don't think anyone else is as fast as you. Sister, you really are our savior!"

The others also gathered around, looking at Lin Xiyin's computer and then at Lin Xiyin herself, their eyes filled with admiration.

At the tender age of twenty-something, still in school, emotions always come quickly and genuinely.

When we ordered takeout together at noon, the girls called each other "sister" with genuine affection.

One group is in another office, and no one knows how they are doing.

But this time, they weren't afraid of the data processing.

Because they have Lin Xiyin.

Busy until the afternoon, Wu Xinyue organized the data and posted it in the group.

Huo Yunying said directly in the group: I will organize it and make it into a PPT, and then post it in the group.

The people below all replied "ok".

Lin Xiyin also replied.

Huo Yunying added: I will organize the PPT and I will also be in charge of the defense. No objections?

There was silence in the group for a long time.

Wu Xinyue was furious: "We did all the data work. This is the most difficult and complicated part. Why should she be the one to go up and defend it and steal the spotlight?"

Lin Xiyin wasn't interested in this. Compared to showing her face in public, she preferred to study quietly by herself.

A boy next to Wu Xinyue advised her, "There's nothing we can do. Her family is the investor in this project, her sugar daddy. We can't fight city hall."

Lin Xiyin suddenly thought for a moment that Huo Yunying also had the surname Huo, and wondered if she was related to Huo Xianyang.

But none of that matters.

Wu Xinyue angrily tapped her phone, which vibrated. Lin Xiyin looked and saw that Wu Xinyi had given an OK sign in the group chat.

She went back too.

Huo Yunying replied in the group: I'll finish making it on PTT and post it here for you guys to review.

Wu Xinyue stretched and asked, "Sister, where do you live?"

Lin Xiyin realized that this was exactly the kind of problem she needed to solve.

She said, "I'm staying outside for now. Are you staying in a dormitory?"

Wu Xinyue nodded: "Yes, in our situation, we can apply for accommodation with the school."

"Can I apply too?"

"Of course! Sister, come live with me!"

Lin Xiyin smiled and asked, "How many people are in one room?"

"It's just me!" Wu Xinyue said pitifully, "It's all on holiday, and there are few girls in our program. Huo Yunying doesn't live on campus."

"Okay, then I'll stay with you."

Wu Xinyue cheered and immediately helped Lin Xiyin apply for a dormitory.

I was busy all afternoon, and around five o'clock, Xiao Ruoyi called.

Lin Xiyin came out of the office and answered, "Yiyi."

"Haven't you called Pei Muye back yet?" Xiao Ruoyi asked. "He called me again, and I'm getting really worried."

Lin Xiyin said, "What's worrying him is the child... Never mind, I'll call him."

"Okay. I'm free tonight, shall we have dinner together?"

"No, I'm at school, eating with my classmates."

The two hung up the phone without saying anything more.

Lin Xiyin thought for a moment and then called Pei Muye back.

It rang only once before being answered.

Pei Muye's voice came through the phone, his already deep voice now carrying a touch of sophistication.

"Where are you?"

Lin Xiyin said, "I'm at school, very busy, and haven't checked my phone. Is there something you need?"

"School's started?"

"No, I had a last-minute assignment." Lin Xiyin then asked, "Did you call me for something?"

"Now that you're pregnant, we need to renegotiate your schooling."

"Discuss?" Lin Xiyin found it amusing. "Given President Pei's temperament, shouldn't he have just informed me directly?"

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end.

Lin Xiyin added, "But I'm sorry, from today onwards, I will make my own decisions. Mr. Pei, please expedite the divorce proceedings; I need to see the divorce agreement on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year."

"Lin Xiyin!" The voice sounded like Pei Muyi gritting his teeth as he said, "You're pregnant!"

“I know,” Lin Xiyin said. “It may sound cruel, but please don’t force me to have an abortion.”

"Lin Xiyin!"

Lin Xiyin hung up the phone immediately.

The screen quickly displayed a call coming in.

Lin Xiyin hung up again and then turned off her phone.

Then I threw myself into the work that followed.

Around six o'clock, Huo Yunying sent a file in the group chat.

Then he said: "The PPT is finished, please take a look."

After sending the message, Huo Yunying put down her phone and went to look at Li Xingzhi in the far corner.

She walked over and asked, "Li Xingzhi, would you like to take a look at the PPT?"

Li Xingzhi is playing games.

He didn't participate in the previous data compilation either.

But he has special privileges with Huo Yunying.

Huo Yunying spoke to him, but he acted as if he hadn't heard her.

Huo Yunying comes from a well-off family and has been pampered by everyone around her since childhood.

She chose to study science not because she was particularly talented, but because Li Xingzhi had chosen science as her major.

She had liked Li Xingzhi since high school.

I followed him all the way to Ocean University of China, entered the Department of Chemistry, and am now pursuing a master's degree.

But even now, Li Xingzhi hasn't given her a second glance.

But she wasn't in a hurry.

Although Li Xingzhi treated her badly, he treated all girls the same.

At least, Li Xingzhi knew her name and would occasionally exchange a few words with her.

That's good enough.

She still has a chance.

She tapped the table: "Aren't you going to check it out?"

Li Xingzhi finished the game he was playing before turning on his phone.

Before I even opened the file, I saw messages from other people in the group.

A message from someone named Lin Xiyin: There's a problem with the PPT.

Huo Yunying picked up her phone and saw the message.

She replied: What's the problem?

Lin Xiyin replied: Is this how your group organizes materials? Did you just search for keywords, find the answers, and then copy and paste? Some sentences aren't even grammatically correct. Furthermore, the algorithm examples don't match our project; there's no categorization or archiving. This kind of presentation won't pass.

Lin Xiyin posted a long message in the group.

Huo Yunying's expression changed.

Although her grades weren't outstanding, she managed to get into Shanghai University and join this group, earning her the title of "academic superstar."

Especially with Li Xingzhi still in the group chat, how could she possibly tolerate Lin Xiyin slapping her in the face like this?

She typed furiously: "You negated the entire day's work of our team with just one sentence! Trying to show off without even knowing where you are!"

Her reply placed Lin Xiyin directly in opposition to the entire group.

Lin Xiyin replied: If this is the strength of your group, then I need to re-evaluate Teacher Ji's judgment in selecting students.

Wu Xinyue, holding her phone beside her, looked at her with a mixture of surprise and worry: "Sister, are you... going to go head-to-head with Huo Yunying?!"

As Lin Xiyin typed, she said, "I'm addressing the issue, not the person."

In her opinion, this PPT did indeed have many problems.

Huo Yunying typed furiously: Are you questioning our mentor? Do you know that Teacher Ji is also in this group? Lin Xiyin, you're finished!

After saying that, Huo Yunying tagged Ji Mingtang.

But Ji Mingtang did not reply, presumably because he did not check his phone.

Lin Xiyin replied: I said the same thing in front of Teacher Ji. If this is the level of the PPT, then I disagree.

Huo Yunying was typing and hadn't sent the message yet when she saw Li Xingzhi send a message in the group chat.

Li: I disagree as well.

Huo Yunying suddenly looked at the boy next to her.

Li Xingzhi had already opened the file and finished looking at the PPT in such a short time.

He then typed on his phone: I'm leaving the group.

After saying that, he stood up, picked up his backpack, and was about to leave.

Huo Yunying immediately became anxious: "Li Xingzhi, what are you doing!"

Li Xingzhi continued walking: "Don't you feel ashamed for making such garbage? I don't acknowledge that I'm a member of the group."

After saying that, he went to the office next door, raised his hand to knock on the door, and saw everyone looking up at him.

He said, "I am now applying to join Group Two."

The person who was just sending messages in the group is now right in front of me.

Wu Xinyue looked at the boy's face in the comic book, and also saw Huo Yunying behind him, her pretty face flushed with anger.

She tugged at Lin Xiyin's sleeve: "Sister, what do we do now?"
