Chapter 170 Don't Be Nervous

Chapter 170 Don't be nervous

Lin Xiyin went to the guest room and found that the sheets and pillowcases were no longer the ones she had slept in that day.

There was a knock on the door. She turned around and saw Pei Muye holding a piece of clothing in his hand.

“I went shopping for clothes the other day, and this one… it’s part of a set, not something you buy separately, but I really like my original one, so I bought both.” He handed it to me: “You won’t mind, will you?”

It's a loungewear piece, a simple and elegant style, but also quite conservative.

But when has Pei Muyi ever bought clothes for himself?

His clothes are either delivered to his home by the brand or custom-made.

He said that only so that he could accept the dress without any reservations.

When did he start to consider her feelings and emotions?

But it must be said that this change warmed Lin Xiyin's heart.

She took it: "How could I possibly mind? How much is it? I'll transfer it to you."

"Do you have to be so clear about things with me?" Pei Muye said, "Then you raised Youyou alone for more than two years, shouldn't I pay you child support?"

Lin Xiyin tilted her head and looked at him: "If you want to give it to me, there's nothing I can do."

Pei Muyi rarely saw her so playful. He resisted the urge to ruffle her hair, his Adam's apple bobbing before he said, "Okay, we'll discuss how much to give you later. You should take a shower first and get some rest."

After saying that, Pei Muyi turned around and left the guest room.

Lin Xiyin looked at the clothes in her hand and a smile appeared on her lips.

Half an hour later, she had taken a shower and was drying her hair when Pei Muye knocked on the door from the outside, but no one answered.

He turned and left.

Another ten minutes or so passed before he came to knock on the door again.

Lin Xiyin, her long hair gathered in front of her chest, opened the door for him.

She wore no makeup, her lips were red and her teeth were white, and her cheeks were slightly flushed because she had just taken a shower.

Her skin was so smooth and delicate, like peach blossoms in March, that it was impossible to look away.

Pei Muye, who had just drunk two glasses of ice water, felt that he had wasted his time.

He quickly handed over the milk in his hand: "Drink this and go to bed early."

Without waiting for Lin Xiyin to speak, he turned and left.

Back in his bedroom, he took a shower.

I took a cold shower.

Even so, it did not dampen his enthusiasm.

He tilted his head back, letting out a low moan of unbearable discomfort.

Finally, he called out Lin Xiyin's name before releasing his body.

He wiped the water from his face, wondering when this ascetic life would end.

But he also felt that his current relationship with Lin Xiyin, whether it was eating together or spending time with Lin Youxing, was something he had never experienced before.

It was as if he had met Lin Xiyin all over again.

As for their relationship... let it take its natural course.

No matter what happens, he won't give up.

Before going to sleep, Lin Xiyin received a message from Pei Muye.

He said: Don't think about anything, get a good night's sleep, I'll go with you tomorrow.

Why didn't you say so just now?

The two of them were in the same house, and they were still sending messages.

Lin Xiyin replied to him: Okay, you should go to sleep early too.

Pei Muye was reluctant to end the chat like this, but he was also afraid of disturbing her sleep.

He could only reply: Goodnight, sweet dreams.

Lin Xiyin replied: Good night.

On Sundays, the little one doesn't have to go to early education classes and can sleep in as much as he wants.

Actually, Lin Youxing didn't have the habit of sleeping in late before. It was after returning to China that Aunt Zhao told him that children need to sleep more to grow.

Lin Xiyin only sleeps with him on weekends.

He was still asleep. Lin Xiyin got up, went out, and saw Pei Muye in the kitchen.

"So early."

She greeted him.

She was wearing the loungewear Pei Muye had sent her yesterday, and her hair was casually tied in a bun, making her look youthful and energetic.

She doesn't look like a mother at all.

They look more like college students.

Pei Muye looked away and continued cooking, asking her, "Did you sleep well?"

"fine."

Lin Xiyin didn't expect that she wouldn't be nervous or anxious, and would actually sleep soundly until dawn.

But the thought of meeting her biological mother made her a little hesitant.

"Almost done, get ready to eat."

Pei Muye didn't give her time to let her overthink: "Get me two bowls."

Lin Xiyin took a bowl, and Pei Muye went to serve the porridge.

"I'll take it out."

Pei Muye said, "It's hot, I'll take care of it."

"It's okay, give it to me."

Lin Xiyin reached out to take it, and Pei Muye had no choice but to hand it to her.

Their fingertips touched, and Lin Xiyin glanced at him.

Pei Muye went to get another bowl.

She took the porridge out, and just as she turned around, Pei Muyi came over with another bowl of porridge.

"Make it first, then I'll bring over the side dishes and steamed buns."

"You did all of this?" Lin Xiyin asked in surprise.

Last night's meal was already very delicious.

If you didn't know better, you'd think Pei Muyi had been cooking for many years.

But Lin Xiyin knew that this man rarely cooked.

Some people may just have this talent; no matter what they want to do, they can do it well.

"The steamed buns were made by my aunt and frozen. Although they don't taste as good as fresh ones, they're still pretty good," Pei Muye said. "If you like them, I'll make them for you next time."

"That's too much trouble," Lin Xiyin said. "You're so busy, you don't need to do these things."

“Work is never-ending,” Pei Muye said. “Doing these things is relaxing for me.”

Pei Muye was very happy because it was for Lin Xiyin. Just thinking about Lin Xiyin eating what he made filled him with anticipation.

The two sat down and chatted for a few more minutes before Lin Xiyin suddenly reached out her hand.

Pei Muye was taken aback. His instinctive reaction was to back away, but he didn't move.

Lin Xiyin placed her hand directly on his forehead.

Sure enough, it was very hot.

When she was serving the porridge, she noticed that Pei Muye's fingers were a little hot, and she thought it was because the porridge was too hot.

But his face was a little red, and his eyes were a little watery, so Lin Xiyin couldn't help but touch his forehead.

"You have a fever!" Lin Xiyin exclaimed in surprise; "Aren't you feeling unwell?"

"Fever?" Pei Muye felt a little unwell, but he thought he could just bear it and it would pass.

It's probably because I took a cold shower last night.

Lin Xiyin stood up: "Where can I find a thermometer?"

"It's alright." Pei Muye tugged at her. "Let's eat first."

"You have a fever, how can you eat!" Lin Xiyin said anxiously, "Go to the hospital!"

“Really, there’s no need.” Pei Muyi had no choice but to get up: “You eat first, I’ll take your temperature first.”

Pei Muye found the first-aid kit, took out the thermometer, and sat back down at the dining table.

He placed the thermometer under his left armpit so that he could eat with his right hand.

"Eat up, no rush. If I get a fever, I'll just take some cold medicine," Pei Muyi said. "I caught a chill last night."

He started eating as soon as he finished speaking, otherwise he was afraid Lin Xiyin wouldn't eat.

Lin Xiyin had no choice but to start eating too. After swallowing a bite, she asked him, "How did you catch a cold? Did you leave the window open last night?"

How could Pei Muye possibly tell her that he missed her so much that he couldn't take a cold shower?

He's done cold showers before, during this season.

I didn't expect to catch a cold this time.

It's probably because too much time has passed.

Pei Muyi could only nod haphazardly: "I didn't notice, the window might be open."

"How could you be so careless?" Lin Xiyin said, "You didn't even know you had a fever, and you still had to get up and cook."

Seeing that she was a little angry, Pei Muye quickly explained, "I'm usually very healthy and I've almost never been sick. Cooking for you... is a very happy thing for me, and I really don't feel uncomfortable."

Seeing his flustered state, Lin Xiyin didn't know what to say for a moment.

If your status is wrong, nothing you say will be appropriate.

She could only ask, "Is the thermometer ready?"

It's all better now.

Pei Muye took it out and looked at it; it was 38.6 degrees Celsius.

"It's almost 39 degrees Celsius!" Lin Xiyin frowned as soon as she saw it. "Let's go to the hospital!"

“Really, there’s no need,” Pei Muye said. “Let’s eat first. After we eat, I’ll call the doctor. We have all kinds of medicine at home.”

"May I?"

"Okay," Pei Muye assured him, "I'll be ready this afternoon."

Lin Xiyin thought for a moment and said, "Then you should have the doctor come over. Don't take it lightly. Youyou had a fever once before, and then she got pneumonia."

"Okay, I'll have him come over."

"After you take your medicine, go and rest," Lin Xiyin said. "You don't need to come with me..."

“No,” Pei Muye said. “I definitely have to go with you.”

“You’re sick,” Lin Xiyin said helplessly, looking at him. “I can manage on my own.”

"I don't want you to be alone," Pei Muye said. "This little illness is nothing, I'll be fine after taking my medicine."

Lin Xiyin thought for a moment and said, "Then I won't go."

"What?" Pei Muyi panicked immediately upon hearing this: "Yinyin, don't do it because of me..."

"Could you call her for me and tell her you're sick, and we can reschedule our meeting?"

Pei Muyi was already worried that Qu Jianhang would have a bad impression of him. If the meeting was postponed because of his illness, Qu Jianhang would hate him to death.

All he could say was, "Then I'll stay home and not go with you."

Lin Xiyin looked at him: "Do you mean what you say?"

Pei Muyi had no choice but to nod: "Fine."

Lin Xiyin was relieved: "Then call the doctor."

The doctor arrived quickly and performed a basic physical examination on Pei Muye, saying that there were no problems with his trachea and lungs, only some redness and swelling in his throat.

I prescribed him some medicine; we have it at home. I told him to get some rest.

At 10:30, Lin Xiyin prepared to leave.

Pei Muye called his driver and drove her there.

"Don't be nervous," he told Lin Xiyin. "Don't overthink it. Just remember, she loves you."

I love you too.

He added this sentence in his mind.

It would be a lie to say I wasn't nervous.

But to avoid worrying Pei Muyi, Lin Xiyin nodded, "I'm not nervous, don't worry."

Pei Muyi remained motionless for a long time after watching Lin Xiyin's car drive away.

Lin Xiyin sat in the car, her fingers unconsciously twisting together.

Her phone rang, and when she looked down, she saw it was a message from Pei Muye.

He said: Contact me anytime, I'm always here.

Lin Xiyin paused for a moment before replying: Okay.

In the three years since leaving Pei Muyi, she has gotten used to solving all her problems on her own.

Or rather, even before she divorced Pei Muyi, she wouldn't have relied on him.

But now, it seems she can try to trust him and rely on him.

The car stopped, and the driver said, "We've arrived."
