Chapter 23 Give Lingling a Brother or Sister

Lu Ze asked, "Was Daddy not nice to you before?"

Lingling shook her head. "Daddy used to be very good to me, but when Mom is around, I'm not in Daddy's eyes."

Lu Ze couldn't help but think deeply, how is this possible?

If he really married Qi Yuning, it would only be because of Lingling. His heart should be filled with Lingling.

Lingling added: "Lingling likes her current father, but she doesn't really like him."

"Why?"

"Because Daddy never wanted to make Mom angry."

"But didn't you say that Daddy used to kiss Mom whenever she made him angry?" Lu Ze said with a smile.

Lingling said, "That's different. Mother wasn't really angry before, but today she is. Daddy would never be like this before."

Lu Ze laughed and said, "You're only three years old, do you know whether to be truly angry or pretend to be angry?"

"I'm just young, not stupid!" Lingling said unconvincedly, "And I'm only five years old."

Lu Ze smiled lightly. He thought that five or six years from now, he and Qi Yuning might just be pretending to be affectionate in front of Lingling.

Lingling had a great time today and was still reluctant to leave on the way back. She got on the carriage and fell asleep after only a quarter of an hour.

Qi Yuning held Lingling in her arms, looking at her peaceful and lovely sleeping face. She thought, perhaps, one day she might really marry Lu Ze because of Lingling. After all, she couldn't bear to let go of such a lovely Lingling.

I don’t know if riding a horse was effective, but Lingling didn’t cry out in fear at night and slept well all night.

Qi Yuning was still busy, especially since her wedding was supposed to be held a few days ago. Many of her subordinates came from all corners of the world to attend the wedding banquet, and she had to summon many of them these days to inquire about business from other places.

Most of the Qi family's men were born into a military family and were loyal, but there were also some who felt that Qi Yuning was young and had some ulterior motives.

After a busy day, Qi Yuning felt exhausted all over.

Back in the room, Lingling tapped Qi Yuning's shoulder caringly, "Mommy, are you comfortable?"

Qi Yuning chuckled and said, "It feels good. Did Lingling learn this trick from Aunt Lichun?"

Lingling shook her head and said, "I learned this from Daddy! Mom said it feels more comfortable when Daddy massages me."

Qi Yuning's smile paused, and she said to Li Chun beside her, "Go to the princess's residence and send a message to Lu Ze. Ask him if he has finished writing the thousand-word fu poem praising this princess?"

Lichun responded, "Yes."

Qi Yuning wanted to see if Lu Ze's literary talent was really as good as people praised him for.

When Lichun returned, he brought no paper or writing material with him. He said, "The servant in Prince Lu's courtyard said that Prince Lu is still at the Dali Temple and has not returned."

Qi Yuning looked at the sky outside. It was getting dark. Perhaps there was another big case in the Dali Temple.

Lingling said, "Mom, are you missing Daddy? Lingling misses him too."

Lingling lowered her head in disappointment and said, "Lingling hasn't seen Daddy in a long time."

Qi Yuning patted Lingling's head and said, "Daddy might be busy with work."

Lingling sighed, "Daddy is busy, Mommy is busy too, and Lingling is all alone."

Lingling's eyes suddenly lit up and she said, "Daddy and Mommy, can you give Lingling a brother or sister? Grandma said that with a brother or sister, Lingling would have playmates."

Qi Yuning: "..."

Now she can't give birth to Lingling's brothers or sisters.

Lingling looked at Qi Yuning with her peach blossom eyes, took Qi Yuning's hands and said, "Mom, please give Lingling a brother or sister, okay?"
