Chapter 119: Deploying Troops

Nangong Jiu nodded with relief.

“There is one thing that you need to do right now.

Prime Minister Liao will unite officials of all ranks and go to the palace to ask the Emperor to write a letter of submission. You should all work together in secret to achieve this great cause that will benefit both the country and the people."

Huang Zhongyuan, who was always straightforward, blurted out: "Prime Minister Liao knows how to protect himself. Why would he do such a thing?"

Mu Qingchun pulled Huang Zhongyuan, and Huang Zhongyuan realized his loss of composure and wanted to bow and apologize.

Nangong Jiu waved his hand: "He has no choice but to step forward!

This isn't something that's easy to accomplish, so think of a way and try to cooperate with him."

Mu Qingchun and Huang Zhongyuan bowed in response.

"We will definitely find a way, even if it means forcing him, to make the emperor write this letter of surrender."

Nangong Jiu nodded and left with Xiao Wang and Xiao Xing.

After visiting several ministers' homes in succession, Nangong Jiu finally returned to General Chu's Mansion by lying on Xiao Wang's back.

Liu Hao, General Chu and Chu Ruofeng were all waiting in the flower hall. When they saw someone coming back, they hurried out to greet him.

Liu Hao picked up the drowsy Nangong Jiu and said, "Jiu'er, what's wrong?"

Nangong Jiu yawned and took out the imperial edict and military token for mobilizing troops from his small pocket.

Liu Hao was overjoyed after reading it and said: "After the border garrison arrives at the Southern Jin border, the Chu army can rush to the northern part of Xiyue to garrison.

In this way, with the combined strength of the Chu family army and the Northern Frontier defenders, even Beiyue wouldn't dare to act rashly."

General Chu and Chu Ruofeng both nodded happily.

[I also asked that old-fashioned Prime Minister Liao to bring his ministers to the old emperor of Xiyue to write a letter of surrender, and then deliver it to my uncle...]

Nangong Jiu repeated what he had instructed the ministers to do.

"Well, this is indeed the best approach. Xiyue's surrender will be legitimate."

[In the evening, I have to go to the Xiyue military camp and give the transfer order and military token to General Qin.]

General Chu reminded him, "General Qin is a worthy opponent and a rare general. We must treat him well."

Nangong Jiu nodded in agreement.

It's time to light the lamps.

After a good rest and a full meal, Nangong Jiu set out again with Xiao Wang and Xiao Xing, heading towards the West Vietnamese military camp on the border.

General Qin's military tent.

Qin Jinsong, the defender of Xiyue, and several generals stood in front of the map, pointing to the north and south of Xiyue with serious expressions.

"According to the information sent back by our spies, both Southern Jin and Northern Yue are stationing troops on the border of Western Vietnam.

They probably knew that something happened to our Xiyue royal family and wanted to take advantage of the situation and divide us Xiyue.

Our defenses in both places are very weak."

A deputy general looked at Qin Jinsong.

"General, what should we do? Are we just going to stay here and watch Western Vietnam be divided up by other countries, while the people suffer?"

Qin Jinsong stared at the map.

"The emperor is incompetent and the country is on the verge of collapse. As border guards, what can we do?

The only thing we can do is to fight back and use our flesh and blood to build the last barrier for the people.

However, without the transfer order, we can only fight at home, which would be very passive."

A young general angrily punched the armrest of a chair beside him.

"General, I returned to the capital yesterday and learned that the imperial family is now in name only and the court has been suspended.

The people were in a state of panic, and all placed their hopes on Dongling, wanting to submit to him."

Qin Jinsong drew a circle on the map of Dongling with his hand.

"Given the current situation, submitting to Dongling is indeed the best option for the people."

An older general sighed, "When I was a child, I often heard my great-grandfather say that his great-grandfather was an official in Dongling.

The ancestors of the royal families of Xiyue and Dongling were brothers. The ancestor of Dongling was the elder brother and later inherited the throne.

The younger brother was dissatisfied, so he fled to Xiyue, divided the land into two parts, and established Xiyue.

Qin Jinsong nodded: "Xiyue was indeed part of Dongling before. However, it may not be easy to negotiate submission.

Unless our emperor still has a trace of conscience."

"Xiyue's submission to Dongling is a great thing. Why doesn't he agree? Does he want to drag everyone into his burial?"

"Humph, maybe he really does think that! Otherwise, why would he do such an infuriating thing?"

Qin Jinsong raised his hand to interrupt everyone's complaints: "Let's talk about something useful and think about what we should do next."

"General, what else can we do? We can't possibly run off to the border between Southern Jin and Northern Yue on our own initiative, right?"

"You don't have to act on your own. The transfer order is here!" A delicate shout, accompanied by a golden light, appeared out of thin air in the military tent.

Several generals reacted quickly, drew their swords and took defensive postures.

Nangong Jiu smiled and waved his hand lightly, and the swords in the generals' hands all slipped out of their hands and fell to the ground.

Everyone looked at each other, and finally looked at the little Nangong Jiu in disbelief.

The young general pointed at Nangong Jiu and Xiao Wang Xiaoxing and asked, "Could it be that you are the immortals who appeared in the capital?"

“It’s me!”

Nangong Jiu looked at Qin Jinsong and said, "A good man should protect his country. I really admire your broad-mindedness and ambition.

This is the Emperor's order and military token. You should prepare to march quickly to the border of Southern Jin to defend the country."

Qin Jinsong looked at Nangong Jiu carefully and asked, "Excuse me, who are you?"

"I am the Empress who came to the mortal world to experience trials and tribulations. I am the one that the demons colluded with your emperor to harm.

To be honest, it was me who implicated those innocent children.

That's why we have to go to great lengths to encourage the people to return to Dongling. Only by following a wise ruler can everyone live a peaceful life.

This can be considered as my compensation to the victims."

With a wave of his hand, the transfer order and military token slowly flew into Qin Jinsong's hands, making the generals stare in amazement.

Qin Jinsong carefully looked at the transfer order and military token, and bowed deeply to Nangong Jiu.

"Your Majesty, I have heard that you have cured countless people of their sufferings and that you have condescended to do these things for us. I am deeply grateful.

We must head to the Southern Jin border as soon as possible and defend every inch of our territory!"

"That's great! Dongling is a place blessed by the gods. Everything will get better and better!"

Nangong Jiu gently extended his hand towards General Qin and others.

Under the golden light, the generals present suddenly felt the pain from their old wounds disappear and they felt relaxed all over.

"Thank you, Empress!" The generals saluted with their fists clasped.

Nangong Jiu and Xiao Wang and Xiao Xing disappeared with the golden light.

The generals touched the old wounds on their bodies, as if they were in a dream.

Qin Jinsong looked at the transfer order and military token in his hand: "Don't doubt it, all of this is true.

What are you waiting for? Hurry back and prepare. The entire army will set out at 3:30 am tomorrow."

"I obey your orders!"

The generals agreed and left.

Qin Jinsong touched the transfer order and muttered to himself towards the sky.

"How did you manage something that is usually so difficult to accomplish?"
