Chapter 70 Pick a Small One

Huo Zhige clicked his tongue, picked up Fang Ruotang and stood aside, then turned to the Crown Prince arrogantly and said, "If I were willing to hurt her, would I be standing here waiting for you?"

Huo Zhige could not admit that he could not escape within the Crown Prince's sphere of influence, but when facing a rival in love, he could not lose in terms of momentum.

The Crown Prince attacked directly, and Huo Zhige met him head-on. The two exchanged blows with deadly force, while the young prince, who was traveling with the Crown Prince, cleverly moved closer to Fang Ruotang.

Each word was filled with concern and care.

The two men who were hitting each other instantly felt as if they had been doused with cold water. They exchanged a glance, tacitly reduced their strength, withdrew their hands, and looked at Fang Ruotang.

Seeing that they had stopped fighting, Fang Ruotang jumped into the Crown Prince's arms, grabbed his clothes, and pointed at Huo Zhige to start complaining.

"He bit me, tried to run away with me, and wouldn't give me any food. Brother Crown Prince, please help me beat him up, beat him hard, really hard."

Huo Zhige's arrogant expression froze. He even picked at his ear, clearly unable to believe that these words came from his little darling.

What about their kiss just now?

Was he reckless?

The Crown Prince held Fang Ruotang in one arm and stroked her fluffy little head with the other to comfort her. When he looked at Huo Zhige, his gaze was as cold as winter.

"General Huo entered the capital without imperial decree. Shouldn't he give me an explanation?"

"Don't jump to conclusions. I have submitted a memorial requesting instructions." General Huo had already followed the proper procedures. After all, he was pursuing his wife alone and couldn't possibly put the entire Huo family in danger.

"Did I agree?" the Crown Prince asked coldly. The memorial requesting to return to the capital to pay respects had passed through his hands, but he had suppressed it without approving it.

General Huo spread his hands, looking every bit the scoundrel, but he also possessed the bloodthirstiness and ruthlessness of a soldier who had been on the battlefield, making him unruly and difficult to control.

"You have violated military regulations by abandoning your post."

"You can dismiss me from my post, but you can't stop me from coming back to get married." General Huo scoffed, looking at the Crown Prince defiantly.

Fang Ruotang exclaimed "Huh?" and looked at him with her big, innocent, curious eyes. "Do you want to marry me?"

"Yes! I've saved up a lot of dowry. If you don't want to marry me, I'll marry you, how about it?"

Fang Ruotang was a little tempted, "It seems pretty good!"

No one has said they want to marry her yet. Considering that she doesn't have to leave the Prime Minister's mansion, there will only be one more person in the family, and he will provide his own food. The Prime Minister's mansion is so big, with so many empty rooms. It doesn't seem like such a big deal to set aside one room for him.

The most important thing is to marry him, then I'll have completed the task given to me by the little mirror.

Upon seeing this, the Crown Prince's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately said, "Guards, seize the man and lock him in the dungeon to await further orders."

Huo Zhige didn't even glance at the Crown Prince. The men he brought this time were no pushovers either. They focused intently on Fang Ruotang, coaxing her, "Your Crown Prince brother is going to lock me up in jail, you..."

Before Huo Zhige could finish his coaxing words, the Crown Prince raised his hand and gently touched Fang Ruotang's lips, "He bullied you just now, let's not pity him, okay?"

Fang Ruotang puffed out her cheeks and glared at Huo Zhige.

I almost fell for his trick and forgot about being bullied.

snort!

Fang Ruotang raised her small face, turned her head away, and indicated that she refused to save Huo Zhige.

Huo Zhige chuckled softly, his eyes burning with an even stronger determination to win.

The crown prince gave Huo Zhige a warning look. Huo Zhige raised an eyebrow, met his gaze calmly, and didn't take the other party seriously. What he wanted to do, even if the Heavenly King himself came, couldn't stop him.

The young prince, standing to the side, was so angry that he chuckled.

"What, so this is a three-person drama, and I'm the only one who doesn't deserve a name? You two really don't respect me at all!"

The Crown Prince and Huo Zhige glanced at him and then looked away.

That disdainful look enraged the young prince.

"Fine, fine, you look down on me now, but one day I'll show you what I'm capable of."

Huo Zhige glanced at the young prince again, his gaze lingering on his face for a moment. He clicked his tongue, still not seeing him as a threat.

He didn't believe Fang Ruotang would be interested in a grown man who looked so effeminate.

The young prince felt slighted and wanted to seek Fang Ruotang's support.

As a result, Fang Ruotang didn't even glance at him.

She was hugging the prince and acting all cute and affectionate, "Brother Prince, my little white horse is lost. Please go and find it for me, okay?"

"It's not lost. I had someone take it to eat feed." The Crown Prince was pleased, and the anger that Huo Zhige had stirred up in him lessened by two points.

"Are we still going to learn to ride horses? It's getting late, and I'm hungry." Fang Ruotang sniffed, looking very unhappy. Thinking of the culprit, she glared at Huo Zhige.

Huo Zhige smiled.

He didn't care about Fang Ruotang's temper; seeing that her eyes were full of him and she looked like she was about to burst into flames, he felt very excited.

The Crown Prince frowned, realizing how difficult General Huo was to deal with.

I had heard of Huo Zhige's great name before, and knew that he was like a madman on the battlefield. I didn't expect him to be just as good off the battlefield.

Such people are often stubborn and like to stick to one path to the end.

The thought that the little girl in his arms had been targeted by such a person rekindled the anger that the prince had just suppressed, and at the same time, he felt somewhat frustrated.

"Let's go eat first. If you still want to go horseback riding after dinner, I'll take you to stay at the manor for a couple of days." The rival can't be driven away anytime soon, so taking care of the little darling in my arms is more important right now.

Huo Zhige and the young prince spoke at the same time: "I'll go too."

After they finished speaking, they looked at each other, then both looked away with disgust.
