Chapter 112: Hunting geese all day, the goose pecked my eyes

Ji Xi had heard people say before that children are accidents to their parents.

I didn't expect that this would be an accident.

But Ji Zhi quickly gave a reason.

"Your father, he comes from the underworld."

Ji Xi opened his eyes wide. He couldn't imagine that his usually gentle mother would be involved with the underworld.

Ji Zhi admired his son's rare expression change with a sense of mischief for a while.

Then she spoke softly, "We've known each other since we were very young."

"Before that homeless guy died."

Ji Xi's heart tightened.

Ji Zhi could already talk about that past event in a calm tone.

"Your grandmother really found me a very bad adoptive father."

Ji Zhi skipped over the finer details.

He said calmly, "But before he left, he still left us something to survive on."

"For example?" Ji Xi asked with a difficult voice.

Ji Zhi smiled, his smile not visible in his eyes: "For example, the way to enter the underworld."

"He used to be a small gang leader, but he ended up offending someone he shouldn't have, and ended up being a homeless person."

You can't just get into the underworld.

If there is no one to guide you, at best you are just a street thug.

"Your father might have been born to be in the underworld. He was expelled from junior high school for fighting."

Ji Zhi shrugged: "Then I lived a life of being beaten by others in the first few years and beating others in the next few years."

When his guess came true, Ji Xi's face suddenly turned ugly.

He now felt that the punishment that Madam Ji had received was far from enough.

"You can probably guess what happened next. Life in the underworld is precarious."

"We weren't planning on having children, but you showed up unexpectedly."

"Your father is very anxious. He has never had a family life, has never been a son, and doesn't know how to be a father."

"He even wanted me to abort you at one point, but medical technology in that era was really not that good."

"The risk of abortion is too great, so I ultimately decided to keep you."

"But he also decided that he couldn't continue on this path of crime."

"He doesn't want you to live like us, hiding everywhere, worrying about being found by enemies, and moving every few days."

Ji Xi moved his lips but didn't say the last word.

He felt as if something was stuck in his throat.

He is not a fool, knowing that his father has died long ago.

A lot of things can already be deduced.

Now that Ji Zhi had spoken, he didn't intend to keep it secret any longer.

She said everything in detail: "He is not a big boss, but he is better than my adoptive father."

"He is a man of integrity and considerate conduct, and he has some good brothers on the road."

"But after he started thinking about quitting, he only told me."

“Then he started preparing for his exit.”

Ji Zhi pointed out that the evidence had been taken away by the police, leaving only an empty box.

"These are what he found out at that time."

"Before my adoptive father passed away, he told us that his biological daughter had been bought by someone for a large sum of money, and I was the gift those people gave him."

The first two words "add" sounded particularly sarcastic when she said them, and Ji Xi clenched his fists violently.

Ji Zhi seemed oblivious to this: "It was originally a backup plan just in case. If anything happened to him, I would go back to the Ji family to seek refuge."

"Life in the Ji family may not be easy, but the gangsters won't come to our door easily."

Ji Zhi laughed sarcastically: "I don't know if it's because I prepared it too well, but I didn't expect it to be used."

Ji Xi said with difficulty: "Who killed him?"

Ji Zhi shook his head: "That's not important."

Ji Xi retorted loudly: "How can it not be important!"

If, if his father had not died, could he have lived in a family that was not rich but warm enough?

I will never have anything to do with those people from the Ji family in my life.

When he was bullied by Lin Shi, there would always be someone standing in front of him to protect him from the wind and rain.

Oh, no, it is very likely that he will not become Lin Shi’s hunting target.

Lin Shi just had a bad habit of liking to see him stuck in the quagmire.

But he was so stubborn that he refused to bend down.

Ji Zhi was not frightened by Ji Xi's sudden loss of control.

My son has always been precocious, but this kind of thing is indeed a bit too much information for him as he is still a high school student.

"Technology was very backward back then. Even gang fights today wouldn't be caught by surveillance cameras."

Ji Zhi said slowly in a soothing tone: "Before he embarked on this path, he was prepared to die there."

Ji Xi suddenly said: "What about you?"

"What?" Ji Zhi was stunned.

Ji Xi suddenly looked her in the eyes: "What about you, are you ready for that?"

"Is this the life he led you to live? Even so, you still miss him?"

Ji Zhi nodded firmly: "Of course."

"We grew up together in a garbage dump, with no adoptive father to rely on. We struggled to raise each other, and our lives were always precarious."

"They have long been inseparable."

Ji Xi asked again: "Don't you want to avenge him?"

Ji Zhi was very frank: "No, first of all, I don't even know who his enemy is."

"Secondly, we have you. Even though he left your life early, I have to take on the responsibility of bringing you into the world."

Ji Xi closed his eyes for a moment before continuing, "So you didn't erect a monument for him."
