Chapter 401 I'm Sorry

The assistant had a pretty good life as a child, at least he thought it was much better than Lin Shi, the nominal eldest grandson.

Because he lives in a normal family.

There was no childhood in which I was locked up in a dark confinement room just for wanting to have a pet, nor was there a school day in which I was threatened with a whip just for getting second place in the exam.

His father felt sorry for his mediocre talent, but he didn't blame him for it.

I just occasionally tease him that he failed to win the lottery.

That was a pretty good memory.

Unfortunately, the bad thing about human nature is that people always change, and you can't predict this change.

The assistant didn't want to continue thinking about how his father started having affairs after he got involved with prostitution, and how his mother died of depression.

It was a pity that his hacker talent did not emerge until college. He asked himself confusedly more than once late at night, if his talent had appeared earlier, everything would be different.

Until he knew about Lin Shi's existence.

He saw in Lin Shi the possibility of another tragedy of his own.

He drooped his shoulders somewhat dejectedly: "Do you want me to accompany you?"

Lin Shi acted as if he hadn't noticed anything, his smile still so bright and creepy.

"Of course, I can't act like a pathetic, unwanted creature in front of Li Suo."

The assistant was already used to his fake smile and said expressionlessly, "Oh."

Lin Shi shrugged: "You are still as indifferent as ever."

Assistant: “Oh.”

The two of them saw the woman who had been taken to the car. She ignored the injuries on Lin Shi's face and just frowned and asked Lin Shi: "Lin Shi, what do you want to do now?"

Lin Shi said casually, "Oh, I'll send you to the research institute for biopsy."

assistant:"……"

The assistant turned his head to look out the car window, as if there was something like a magnet outside the window that firmly attracted his eyes.

After answering the woman's question, Lin Shi closed his eyes and looked like he didn't want to communicate.

The woman wanted to say something, but because there were outsiders in the car, she hesitated for a long time and didn't speak.

Only when the car stopped did Lin Shi open his eyes again and ordered in a harsh tone, "Get out of the car."

The woman hesitated for a moment, then pushed open the car door.

This is a very open place, with no obstructions within the view.

As soon as she got out of the car, someone rushed over: "Mom!"

She turned around in surprise and saw an ordinary black Chevrolet parked a hundred meters away.

"Sulphur?"

She blinked hard, unable to believe what she was seeing.

Li Suo rushed over and hugged her.

"Mom, it's me."

The woman froze for a moment when she was hugged. Even though she had only been in the mental hospital for a few short months, many of her habits had changed. She was no longer used to close contact with people.

But she blinked her tear-blurred eyes. Is this the end of everything?

When Lin Shi asked her if she wanted to come and see Li Shuo, she suspected that Lin Shi was up to something bad again.

After she had been well taken care of for a few days and her food, clothing and other necessities had all returned to what they were in the Lin family, she thought Lin Shi needed her to do something, such as sending her to some important figure who could be useful to him.

When she was taken out of the mental hospital today, a huge weight lifted from her heart, thinking that this moment had finally come.

She felt a little scared, but at the same time she felt relieved that the second shoe had finally dropped.

As a result, she wiped her tears on her son's shoulder. Although he was only sixteen years old, Li Shuo, who had lived alone in a foreign country for several months, seemed to have grown up a lot, and his chest was much stronger.

The result was much better than she had imagined.

Li Suo was no longer the naughty child lying in her arms.

He could even hold her, his mother, in his arms to comfort her, as if he wanted to soothe all the pain she had suffered in the past few months.

When the assistant saw the mother and son hugging each other tightly, he unconsciously turned to look at Lin Shi.

Lin Shi had put on a pair of sunglasses without knowing when.

He couldn't see the changes in the other person's eyes, but he could get a glimpse of the complex emotions through the tightly pursed corners of his mouth.

He suddenly felt that the performance of loving mother and filial piety over there was so eye-catching.

He said in a cold voice: "Boss Lin, it's almost time, let's go back."

When the woman heard this name, her body trembled reflexively.

Li Shuo didn't know why she reacted like this. This title once belonged to Lin Rui. Maybe it was because of Lin Rui, or maybe it was because of the person in front of him.

He whispered, "Mom, can I take you to the car first?"

She didn't want Li Shuo to have too much contact with Lin Shi, but obviously, without her knowledge, Li Shuo had contacted the other party more than once.

After hesitating for a while, she nodded.

He just held Li Shuo's hand but was reluctant to let go: "I can go by myself, you... need to be quick."

Li Shuo nodded in assurance: "Okay, I will do it as soon as possible."

He walked a few steps forward, but the woman suddenly stopped and turned to look at Lin Shi: "Lin Shi."

Lin Shi didn't move at all, and she didn't seem to want too much of a reaction from him.

At this distance, as long as he was not deaf, he could hear her voice.

"I don't know what you're going to do next, but," she looked at him, her lips moving slightly, "I once heard something from Lin Rui when he was drunk. He said there was a monk by Lin Lang's side who was giving him advice and who had put him in trouble time and time again."

"I don't know when this monk appeared next to Lin Lang, but Lin Lang and Lin Rui broke up only later."

After saying these words, she breathed a sigh of relief: "This is the reward. From now on, we mother and son owe each other nothing."

Lin Shi nodded, and the word "OK" slowly came out of his mouth.

After watching the two leave, Lin Shi turned to his assistant and said, "Let's go."

"Wait." Li Shuo ran over again, panting.

The assistant stopped the man from a few meters away.

He is not the kind of otaku hacker that everyone stereotypes.

Although his skills cannot compare with Lin Shi's, he is also a normal adult male.

It was more than enough to stop a boy who was only sixteen years old.

He threatened in a low voice: "Leave, or I can't guarantee that you can leave again."

But Li Suo was not scared away by him.

Unable to break through and get to Lin Shi, he simply knelt down on the spot.

This unexpected action scared the assistant.

"What are you...doing?"

Li Suo ignored him.

He always had a premonition that if he didn't say something this time, he would never have the chance to say it again.

He said to Lin Shi's back: "Brother, I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry about what happened at school, I'm sorry about my existence, and I'm even more sorry for what Mom did."

"Also, thank you for giving my mother back to me."

"Also?" Lin Shi repeated the word with a sneer.

"Let's go." He said this to his assistant.

Before leaving, the assistant bent down and whispered in Li Shuo's ear, "Don't bother him anymore, you people."
