Chapter 18 I Really Want to Be a Full-time Brother

Hua Jian cooked two bowls of clear soup noodles, and the two grown men each ate one bowl.

"There's 5,000 yuan on the table. Use it to buy a replacement phone card. We'll meet at 1:00 PM to discuss this."

Xue Pan looked at the stack of brand new banknotes on the table and whispered, "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Write me an IOU on the white paper next to you."

Xue Pan looked up at him.

Hua Jian glanced at him and said, "What are you looking at? My money didn't come from the wind. You made at least 20,000 yuan from that bottle of potion, right?"

Xue Pan lowered his head and ate noodles.

"Don't pretend, but that 30,000 is what I promised you before. Just consider it my bad luck, but you can see me. I work part-time every day, part-time at night, and part-time during the weekend."

[If I need money again, I will sell myself.]

Xue Pan almost bit his tongue. "Why are you so short of money? I heard from your classmates that your family is very rich."

Hua Jian took a chopstick of noodles and ate it, saying casually, "My mom kicked me out of the house and cut off my pocket money. Do you know how much it costs to learn painting?"

Xue Pan's eyes suddenly flickered as he asked, "Because you like Feng Gan's thing?"

In his small circle, Feng Gan made a joke of this incident, saying that Hua Jian was an ignorant toad.

Hua Jian looked as if he had eaten a fly. He put down his chopsticks and said seriously, "I'm a straight man, you know? I don't like men."

Xue Pan remained silent. How could sexual orientation change?

Seeing his expression, Hua Jian took a deep breath and said, "Believe it or not."

"By the way, are you familiar with Shu Yao from the Humanities Department?"

This was the entry point that Xue Pan found after thinking for a long time.

Of the incomprehensible words Hua Jian said last night, the only person Xue Pan and Hua Jian knew about was Shu Yao.

Hua Jian's eyelids jumped and she looked at him: "Do you know Shu Yao?"

"I don't know him, but I've heard a few things about his background from others, and Feng Gan and him don't get along, so I know a little bit about it."

As he spoke, he stared at Hua Jian, only to see that Hua Jian's brows were furrowed.

[Fortunately, Xue Pan hasn't fallen in love with Shu Yao yet, so he can still save his life.]

Sure enough, Xue Pan felt relieved when he heard Hua Jian's voice again.

"You can't even protect yourself right now, and you still have time to care about others? Eat your meal, take your money, and leave immediately."

Hua Jian swallowed the last mouthful of noodles and stood up impatiently to collect the bowl.

Xue Pan took 5,000 yuan and left a promissory note, and was kicked out of the house by Hua Jian.

Xue Pan thought of the grandsons who attacked him last night, and a dark light flashed in his eyes.

Hua Jian took a shower and changed her clothes, then came out to see Xue Pan still standing at the entrance of the corridor.

Not only did his face and nose get bruised, but he also seemed to be making some expression.

Tsk, this is ugly.

Shu Yao didn't expect to meet Professor Xie again so soon.

Although he is only a sophomore majoring in journalism, he is very interested in actual media and journalism work.

Qin Ci failed to accomplish his task with Xie Zhitan yesterday, and Qin Ci felt embarrassed. Today, he specially arranged for Shu Yao to come here to visit the backstage of the TV station.

He heard from other staff members that the professors here are the most respected professors of finance in the imperial capital's universities.

Shu Yao couldn't resist his curiosity and stretched his head to take a look, and he saw Xie Zhitan at a glance.

Professor Xie in the studio seemed to be glowing. As the youngest professor at the Imperial Capital University, he spoke eloquently among a group of old men. The old men, who had many students all over the world, smiled at him with kindness and appreciation, which made him look even more outstanding.

Shu Yao stared at Xie Zhitan for a long time.

After the program recording was over, Xie Zhitan helped a trembling old man out of the studio.

His teacher's wife suddenly fainted, and Xie Zhitan was arranged by his undergraduate teacher to come here to rescue her.

Xie Zhitan was talking to the old man with his head down when he suddenly heard someone calling him.

"Professor Xie, please wait a moment."

He stood up and looked back. When he saw the person coming, the smile on his face suddenly faded.

"Xiao Xie, if you have something to do, go ahead and do it. I'm leaving first. When I meet Lao Zhou for tea, you must come over!"

Lao Zhou is Xie Zhitan’s teacher.

Xie Zhitan smiled and said, "Don't think I'm annoying when the time comes. Take care."

After everyone got into the elevator, Shu Yao also arrived. He jogged over from the other side of the corridor, breathing rapidly and his face flushed.

"Professor Xie, it really is you. What a coincidence."

The boy in front of him was respectful and respectful, with a handsome face and looked very well-behaved.

When Xie Zhitan was a child, he dreamed of having such a younger brother.

Unfortunately, his two younger brothers, one is a reckless and unruly person, and the other is dull and silent.

Neither of them was as well-behaved and sensible as Xie Zhitan liked.

If it weren't for what happened yesterday, Xie Zhitan might have developed a good impression of Shu Yao.

"Shu Yao." Xie Zhitan lowered his eyes calmly, "Is there something wrong?"

Shu Yao didn't know how to start, so he said hesitantly, "I'm really sorry about what happened yesterday. Please don't take it to heart. Qin Ci was just too anxious to help me."

That kind of talk again.

"What happened yesterday is in the past. You don't have to take it to heart. If you have nothing else to do, I'll leave first."

The elevator arrived just in time and Xie Zhitan turned around and left.

Shu Yao didn't dare to stop him. He felt extremely uncomfortable and even had strong dissatisfaction with Qin Ci.

He is really good at causing trouble instead of accomplishing anything. Not only did he fail to accomplish anything, but Xie Zhitan also developed a prejudice against him.

After getting in the car, Xie Zhitan loosened his tie and breathed a sigh of relief almost imperceptibly.

He didn't believe in ghosts and supernatural powers, but what Hua Jian said had been confirmed yesterday.

He still needs to verify it again today.

The black Cayenne drove out of the underground parking lot of Capital TV Station and quickly merged into the traffic flow.

At 1 p.m., Hua Jian received a call from Xie Zhitan on the subway.
